Here goes....time to get my groove back!

Well if today has proved anything it is that I am a very very very weak person :sigh: Let me explain......

The day started off well. I had a good breakfast, and a healthy lunch and I had arranged to meet my mum after lunch in Ikea as she wanted me to buy some bookcase that she needed me to help her home with in my car. So when I got to Ikea she was in the restaurant and had just had her lunch. This is where it all went wrong!! :argh:

She said she was just going to have a cake and she was going to buy me one!!!!....you can guess where I'm going with this can't you!! :rolleyes: So, I had a think about whether I wanted to jeopordize my 100% day and decided that one little cake couldn't do that much damage, could it?? Anyway, she bought me a strawberry tart! One of the big ones. :( I have no idea how many syns would've been in it and I shouldn't have had it. I'm disappointed once again that I let myself give in to temptation. Where has my willpower gone??

When I got home I had the quorn bolognaise that I had taken out the freezer for my dinner, it was lovely and I really enjoyed it, then I managed to get my hands on a turkish delight muller light so I had that afterwards.

That's me done for the day. I seem to find it really hard staying on plan when i'm out and about or with family or friends. I seem to associate socialising with food and I don't know how to change that. I'll need to give it some thought and try to figure out how to change my mindset. :help2:

You are not weak - yes, you had some cake but did you blow out the rest of the day? No - you got back on it! So well done for doing the best you could! x
 
Tooty - my boot is hovering!!!! lol Its 1 cake in 1 day out of 7 you could have gotten home and carried on thinking well ive ruined it now i may as well have ....blah blah BUT you didnt so well done.

Dont let 1 cake ruin your week. Your back on track so look forward not back. You know you can do this x
 
Thanks Missy but I didn't really do the best I could've did I? I could've said no to the cake and stayed on plan. I know I didn't allow myself to splurge the rest of the day like I would've in the past, but I just feel like I keep letting myself down :(

Maybe if your planning going out - eat something substantial before you go so that you dont have room/feel hungry whilst your out?

Maybe have a "nice" word with whoever your with and ask them not to put temptation in your way, its hard when your out with someone who doesnt have to watch their weight or think about what theyre eating, I love spending time with my daughter and having a girlie day, but we always end up going for food. I think she has got the message now when I say - only if we can go somewhere healthy lol. Its usually Nandos :D then I know what i can have

Having one cake is not letting yourself down though! It's a tiny little blip that's gone now.

And you did the best you could in a situation where it would have been hard for you to refuse. Beating yourself up about it is not the way to go and you have not let yourself down. Did you have any other syns today? You've prob not done the damage that you think you have.

Sweetheart, it's not the end of the world. Yes, I won't lie, it'll be higher syns than you'd usually have, but it isn't a ruined week. You have progressed. You said normally you'd go ahead and make it a day ruined and stick your head in the biscuit tin, but you didn't. you stuck to the plan for the rest of the day. You know people without weight problems that's how they'd have their day. They might have the nice treat, something more than day to day, but a normal day for the rest of it. So you haven't ruined the day, or the week.

So what are you having for B/L/D tomorrow?

Morning all :)

Firstly my food for yesterday:

Breakfast: banana first thing, then 2 LM rosemary and red onion sausages, 2 fried eggs in fry light, beans, brown sauce (1 syn)
Lunch: cheese n onion pasty - wholemeal pitta (B), potato, onion, stock, 40g cathedral light cheese (A), coconut greek yogurt (1/2 syn)
Dinner: quorn bolognaise with quorn mince, onion, carrots, swede, celery, tomatoes, tomato puree, garlic, spaghetti and cheese (A)

Syns: Strawberry Tart ?? does anyone know roughly how many syns would've been in it?
Nougat - 6.5 syns
Popcorn - 3.5 syns

So onto today. I'm living in a house of sick!!! My dh has been 'dying' with man flu since wednesday and has been off his work and in bed most of the time :rolleyes: but now today and during the night lastnight both my boys became unwell and so I have had to give them both calpol. They were both up at different times through the night and I've been awake from 4.15am this morning dealing with one or the other of them and I'm quite frankly, knackered!!! I'd like nothing more than to take myself off to bed and stay there for 24 hours!!!! There's absolutely zero chance of that happening so I'm pretty much stuck in the house with 3 poorly men. :cry:

I've already eaten 2 bananas so far since i've been awake, and i've had my breakfast of dorset museli (B) and yogurt. Should hopefully stay on plan today but i've no idea what i'm going to have for lunch. Maybe egg, beans and chips as I love that and i've not had it for ages.

Strawberry tarts seem to vary from 11 to 15.5 most are around 14.5 and 15.5 syns if you wanted to be on the safe side. So maximum for your day yesterday would be 25.5, just 5.5 fewer today and 5 less tomorrow and you are fine. :)

Being the pesky superfree pusher that I am the new packs are now nudging for people to have 1/3rd superfree regardless of which plan they do so it might be an idea to increase your uptake where you can.

I've never heard of the cheese and onion pasty! What do you do? What is it like?

As far as the strawberry tart thing - it's was once in your week. This has to be sustainable. Will you never eat a strawberry tart again? Hope not. What is life without tarts?? ;)
What i am trying to say is - it's not the end of the world. You had it and drew the line. Done and dusted and onwards and downwards. Blue sky thinking and all those other cliches!
How are the invalids?
