should the ketostick be

i went and got some from boots

and they only go very very light pink

does this mean im not in ketosis :cry:

or is it just ive drank lots of water

so its weak :confused:


i only know if there dark purple thats a sign your dehydrated


ps when's the best time in the day to do the test

As long as you get a pink reading then you are in ketosis! It doesnt matter how light it is you are still in the pink!
Like you say if its too dark then you need to up your water.

The best tme of the day for me was always the first wee of the day as its generally more concerntrated.
I was always one who tested everyday, dont really know why I guess its just nice to see, but some peeps only test once a week or so. If you know you have stuck to the programme and you are loosing weight things should be fine.

I have heard of some people who have never had a pink reading but have deffo been in ketosis and have lost huge amounts of weight...so I guess we are all very different!

Any colour change on the stick is a positive test for ketones.
I usually test first thing in the morning.
I have found that during the day they often go negative again.this isn't because i'm not in ketosis,merely that i've drunk so much water that i've dilute the ketones to below the level thatthe stix can detect.they are only a ready reckoner not sensitive to tiny amounts of ketones.
