Independence Day Challenge!!

I hate my arms too Vickie, but I still reckon other people don't notice them quite as much as I do.

If you wear a low cut top they'll be too busy looking at your boobs!!!

In all serious though I know it can be depressing because it's the one part of me that gets me down. My hips annoy me, but I know they'll shrink. Try doing press ups but against the wall. They are a lot gentler but still work to tone. Maybe one day we'll both be happy with our arms.
 
I think you're right when you say we notice more than other people Liz, I just wish they'd shrink proportionally lol.
 
I'm feeling sorry for myself today after having a tooth taken out :( How's you?
Do you use it every day? My arms are the things I hate most just now, even my boobs (surprisingly) aren't too bad!

Hello honey how are you tonight?? yes the Soap and Co is the Firminator, its really icy cold though and you need to wrap up after you apply it, its around £10 but had really toned my arms up so its my new best friend.

Sounds brill, Witchy! Must invest in some.

I think Watergirl's right too about other people noticing less than we do. Still dents the confidence though (well, it does mine when I let it).

I like the press ups against the wall idea Watergirl - will be trying them for sure!

Congrats on the compliments Witchy - must have been a great feeling to not only tell them you were well, but that you're healthier than you were a few weeks ago!
 
Sorry haven't been very active recently. Been ill and spare time is busy revising. Hope you're all doing well, well done to those who have lost in the last few days, you've all done brilliantly! Everyone is doing so well and getting closer to goal all the time.

Me? I need a kick up the backside after today. So disappointed in myself. Being ill has just knocked me off track. Ate a handful of mini prawns and some sort of gherkined (don't think that's even a word) fish that I didn't even want or like. Can't believe it.

What's worse is, firstly I was considering making myself sick to get rid of it, and secondly not having a shake tonight to make up for it. Then I was like, what the hell am I doing. I had my tetra and am just going to have to suffer the consequences on the scales.

Me = idiot. So angry.

Well done on having your tetra - definitely the right thing to do.

Thank you Thelma *hugs*. You're right - and I have learnt from it, definitely. Well, the only positive I can think of at the moment, is that there was my nan's amazing lemon drizzle cake sitting in the kitchen and I didn't touch it, at least I went for fish, it could have been worse.

So disappointed with myself though as I knew my pre TOTM water retention would coincide with my weigh in next Monday, plus I haven't had great losses for two weeks, so really wanted to go for it this week, having less bars and less of the water flavouring. Now I've just blown it and will probably end up with at the very most a 1lb loss! Well, I deserve it I suppose.

Thank you for your support and words of wisdom though - I can't keep berating myself for it, it's done and it happened, and if I get in a bad head place I'll be tempted to cheat, which I don't want at all - so thinking positive(ish!) from now on.

While I'm here, does anyone know if the mix a mousse has a higher calorific content than just having a normal shake? Cos I'm struggling with my shakes at the moment - I don't want them. I'd much rather have porridge and tetras, so maybe the variety would help. Won't have it if it's extra calories though... xx

I think I read somewhere on here that mixamousse adds about 20 cals to the shake and that because of this, you can only have 1 per day.

Sounds like it's worth a shot if you're struggling with the variety aspect though

Hey dont beat yourself up about that, its normal we are not robots, there will be blips as we go along. LIKE MINE yesterday, bought two chickens for my holiday kids and my kids and hubby served it up for them all, put some aside for the dog and the cats and was nibbling away at it while I was doing this, wasnt till husband came in and brought it to my attention that I realized what I had done, I was so upset and like you wanted to throw it all up. HA

Later in the night I went to bed with really bad stomach ache really painful, the damn stuff was stuck and not digesting and my 2am I had to make myself sick to get rid of the damn stuff, as I was burping really gassy horrid stuff and double up in pain, sort of SERVES YOU RIGHT PUNISHMENT.

First shake came back this morning, im shatterd, crabby and not right still so had to have some toast to settle my stomach AGAIN AHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Had to take 16 kids on a mass picnic and fun day I organised today, it was great and didnt even look at the food, I just felt a fraud as everyone was congratulating me on my passion for not eating.:confused::wave_cry:.
 
Girls it's not the end of the world, it could easily have been a slice of pizza or chocolate cake and it wasn't. In all it was very little in the way of calories and if you're not still in ketosis you will be by tomorrow.
It's a horrible habit you get into whilst cooking for other people Witchy, I was making my nephews banana's and custard and dipped my finger in to test to see if it was too hot oh so very nearly licked my finger - so easily done and a hard habit to break!

Yes both of you don't worry too much. As long as you can get on track, which you have and can, it's a tiny blip.

I doubt it will register on the scales. :)

Just nipping on to update with losses. Had new CDC this week and she shows a 3lb loss, but I show a 2lb loss on my scales, so am going by them for consistency :) Hoping that next week will be better. 2lbs for 2 weeks now, but am fine with it. I can't do any more than I'm doing and I suspect I'll have a bigger loss at WI next week.

So I have exactly 21lbs to go to hit my target for this challenge.

Watergirl - congrats on your loss! I seem to be having 'slowly but surely' losses too, it's much better than staying the same haha. Good on you for going with the 2lbs though, I so would have gone with 3 lol!

Thanks hunnie. LMAO at you going with the 3. I was tempted. Thing is there'll be a different between old CDC and new CDC scales, so probably not accurate, whereas mine will be!

Just had a deep tissue massage on my lower back tonight for back pain and am feeling battered and bruised, so going to sign off now and chill (watching last night's Apprentice, Ghost Hunters and the 24 finale! Busy night)
