Is it possible to loose too much weight?

#1
I haven't been for my weigh in yet this week, but I know I've lost about 6lbs.

My weight loss is usually about 4lbs a week.

I've been on the diet for about two months, and I know it will slow down over time.

I must confess that I don't eat three meals a day, usually one large one and something small. And I hardly have any sins, most of my food is free. I do have my healthy extras every day.

Am I loosing too quickly? Should I be eating more?

What are the downsides of loosing so fast?

Everyone seems to say "1-2lbs a week is a healthy loss". But my consultant hasn't said anything to me yet about loosing too fast.

Should I change what I am doing with food in order to loose slower?

i thought they said 1-2lbs a week is a healthy loss cause on slimmin world people lose slowly so they are tryin to make people feel alot better about having small losses lol. i also thought the more u have to lose the more you lose in the early stages?? so i wouldnt of thought there was a problem with losing it faster than others :)

That's cool. I came with three and a half stone to loose, and I'm I still have about two stone to go. So I guess that's a fair amount of weight.

I know it will slow down and I'm okay with that, I just wondered if I was doing something bad heh.

lol, I just like food too much but since joining this forum I've sometimes been tempted by the fast weight loss. Still sticking with SW for now though. Sorry for going OT lol

me too - i like food too much and i know people who've lost loads of weight on CD/LL/LT diets then piled it all straight back on again.

i'm in it for the long haul and am happy to eat big satisfying meals and lose weight - i think it's the only way for me :)

You have hit the nail on the head. Ever since I have been coming on this website I have wondered about the fast weight loss stuff. I hate the thought of losing too much, just because I know from personal experience that it just piles back on when I begin to eat more. If you are sticking to the plans then your body will lose what it will lose.

The big shots of SW are in discussions apparently about recommending that people have 10 syns per day (at least, rather than the 5-15 they recommend now) and the new syn allowance being 10-15. They are finding that too many people tend to fall of the wagon because they deprive themselves of the syns then just break the will power and go hell for leather an syns. Try to eat a few more syns. Also are you eating more than one meal now? I was told that lots of smaller ones are better. A friends eats 5 meals a day, all huge with free foods galore - she is the biggest 'fat' loser there is. Some weeks I wish I was her !!
