Jess's Diary - Weighed in a day early..

Belated happy birthday Jess!:p

And well done on the degree results, you clever girl you :D

Have a lovely day

Right!

I had a nice birthday :) I mostly got money but I got a couple of pressies. A ukulele from Adam which I need to learn how to play, a recipe book and a box of Lush stuff from the rents (Adam has already used a bath bomb and had a massage with the bar  he also had the first go on my ukulele.. always the way), a gift card for the cinema (awesome idea, I think!) and THREE boxes of chocolates which I shared out. Oh and I saw two friends, one gave me a bath bomb and some earrings and the other a lovely notebook to write all my wedding plans in, but I'll probably use it to write my recipes in that I tweak. I need to perfect my spag bol!

On the actual day Adam and I tottered into London and went around the natural history museum. Really enjoyed that, but I really, REALLY hate kids. They just run about and stand right in front of you. Not enough parents tell their kids off for doing rude stuff, really pees me off; I feel rage build up inside me and I could just punt the little *******. Too many school groups of primary age, they are not old enough to appreciate evolution and shiz like I do, so get them out my way! You'd start to read something and some little chite will barge in front and shove their snotty little nose against the glass. Grr. Take them to the zoo or whatever. We are going to go back on one of the adult only evenings, I just can't take that many kids, it actually ruins my experience. Aren't I such a grumpy old cow? Well I'm 22 now, so I'm going downhill. My mum said the only time she ever felt really old was when she turned 22.

Anyway, after that we went to the British Museum as Adam wanted to go but I've been before and I was bored. It was too humid that day so I made him leave :p Well it was my day! My friend Beth can go with him next time she's in London, she's about to do a masters in ancient history/archaeology or something and she loves that stuff. His own personal tour guide. So we went to a beer garden in Camden and saw Jenny Frost from Snog, Marry, Avoid (not Atomic Kitten, who cares about that!). I had a pint of cider, Adam had a couple of beers then we moved on to happy hour cocktails down the road. These cocktails are usually £7 each and are sooo good, but we only ever drink them at happy hour (which is more like happy 2 hours), BOGSF. We had 5 cocktails then stumbled to a Lebanese place for a massive set meal. Home!

BBQ was fun, my mum and two aunties got v.v. dunk and it's hilarious. They (minus my mum) are huge Twihards :p They want me to have a vampire theme for my wedding.. no a fairy theme... purple, pink and green! I have actually picked a theme, midsummers nights dream/enchanted forest.. sort of a dark fairytale theme. I loved the place I visited on Friday, it's so rustic. The barn is pretty small, but then it looks like we have lots of friends! Massive, gorgeous beer garden. I would much rather sit outside chatting to everyone and have the kids playing games than spend the whole night dancing. I will just dip in and out for a few dances. Weather depending of course. The tables would be set out in a "U" shape rather than individual tables, I'd keep the tables bare with no flowers, just tall candlesticks and fruit bowls. I will look at other places, but I do love this one!

I had some NSVs this weekend. I was starving at lunch whilst viewing the pub/barn and ordered shared camembert with bread to start and a burger and chips. I was satisfied after the start and I've finally realised that I don't need to eat loads just because I'm starving. Also, I was out for lunch and bought a slice of drizzle cake for after. I love lemon drizzle cake but I wasn't hungry, so I just ate half to get a little taste. I could have finished it, but I didn't need to. I don't like eating food cooked at mum and dad's house, cos the kitchen is always so messy. Usually I buy a steakbake, packet of crisps, cheese dippy thing and a chocolate bar with a diet coke. This time I just bought a steakbake and a bottle of water! It doesn't sound much but I felt very proud. I still ate a lot of crap and probably too much but it was better than it could have been. I didn't have a burger at the BBQ as I didn't fancy one, I just had a couple of slices of really thin pizza. I am not going to weigh myself until I move as there is no point. I am definitely ready to diet when I move. I'm pretty much the same as January 1st so I've wasted 6 months, but it's better than gaining I guess. I really would like to be in a size 12 by Christmas as I look so much better in winter and want to wear skinny jeans with high boots and snuggly jumpers. I think I look ok in the mirror but when I see photos I realise how fat I look. I'll post one from my birthday. I thought I looked ok, but my face is so chubby and I am a blob :p I think a stone will make me look a lot better though. I've been looking for gyms in the area of where we are moving too and I am really ready :) Adam's making appointments for Friday to view, then it will be about 3 weeks :D

Will do :D I'll show you when you're here tomorrow, I can't remember the name but it's got quite posh recipes in there.. it's for entertaining.

Wow Jess - sounds like you had a fab weekend! So glad you enjoyed yourself- your day out in the Big Smoke with Adam sounds great! I love the thought of Lebanese food. That dress you have on in the photo is very cute - I nearly bought it myself, these boutique designer places are great for dresses eh?! ;) :D

So good when you feel even slightly in control - like what you were saying about the steakbake and the water. Makes such a huge difference to think to yourself 'actually, I don't need to have that' or whatever. Good restraint chicky.

Liking the theme for the wedding it sounds awesome. You'll be able to do lots of quirky little twists with that. And I'm already looking forward to photos of Mumma K in her fairy godmother outfit :D

Have a great day chuck x x x

hope you had a great time xxxx

Thank you :) I will forgive you on this occasion!

Adam went to book appointments for the houses I found and they are ALL gone. All ten of them! The estate agents said it is manic at the moment and people are even outbidding each other.. this is rent not buy! We only have 2 places to go and see on Friday and they may well be gone by then. I feel quite teary now as I was really looking forward to finding a house and now I might not even be able to move?! I can't believe it, there were loads of houses a couple of months ago. Sod's freakin law! Oh well, fingers crossed.

Oh no! Poor you! Try not to let it stress you too much - you're bound to find something. It's just such hardwork looking for a new house. Sending you calming vibes :)

The right house will come along dont you fret!

As for the museum, when lee & i went to london i was sooo looking forward to going but it was rammed! not just kids but bl**dy foreigners! & i didnt like the way you were made to walk a certain way around the dinosaurs:mad:
My memories from going as a child were so much better.

You should have took a pic of jenny frost (not a posed pic),if you send it into star or heat (cant remember which) magazine they pay you £200!!!! Im forever on the look out for a celeb, thought i had a chance in america but no!

When are you weighing in? or arent you?

Wedding sounds great, how good to be a guest at a themed wedding far more exciting than a boring ordinary one! xx

I'd be sooo embarrassed to take a picture, but I will get Adam to next time ;) £200 is worth it!

I'm not going to weigh in until I move because I really cannot get into dieting until then so there is no point torturing myself! I will weigh when I move and deal with it :)

It's not going to be completely themed, like with costumes etc. Most weddings have a theme to tie things together, like Adam's boss and wife's was autumn/harvesty. There were pumpkins around and on the tables, their wedding cake had little pumpkins on and was on a piece of log.. stuff like that. So my colours, flowers, decorations and food etc will fit in with a midsummer's night dream.. foresty, a bit whimsical. It works so well with the barn which has fairy lights in and their beer garden has stone toadstools dotted around. I want lots of candles, twigs and wild, climbing flowers and my favours/invites etc have to fit in too :)

jess all the wedding stuff sounds magical.. are we invited to your reception? :D

you look lovely in your dress.. and blob? only the two blobs on front - i am tres jealous of your boobies! :p

I may well invite some of you lovely ladies :) Adam severely lacks in the number department so it means I can have more, haha! More pressies ;)

well make sure you make a proper wedding list somewhere online so i can get you something you want :D

I loved reading all about your birthday and your wedding plans. You didn't half make me laugh with your little rant about the kids as well.

The wedding theme sounds absolutely magical. It will be beautiful Jess. I love wedding talk, you'll have such a brill time arranging it all.

Thats rubbish about the houses but the right place for you will come up. When I was buying I missed out on a couple I really liked the look of and then a few weeks later I found my house. I was so glad I hadn't got either of the other one's!

I'm not going to do a wedding list because I think it's so cheeky. I don't actually think badly of people who do them, as it's tradition, but I don't want to tell people what presents to buy me. Plus by the time I am married my kitchen will be stocked with le creuset, beautiful plates and all that flapjack. Kitchen stuff is my porn, love it. My wedding list would be like "new graphics card... warehouse dress... oooh, iwoot gadget, add that... oh well, I definitely need a flying helicopter... those shoes are nice" haha. I will love everyone's present, no matter what is it :D Apparently it's tradition for your bridesmaids to buy their own dresses but I can't bring myself to say "oi you lot.. buy that dress for youself". I am thinking of picking a colour and letting them all buy their own dresses as they all have completely different figures. That way I save a huge chunk of money ;) I've got 6 adult bridesmaids and two lil ones! Eek!

haha 8 bridesmaids? stick with tradition and let them get their own ;) LOL x

Laughed so much at the kids rant! I'm always telling Ee off for running around and fover telling people "sorry" if she stands in their way, but it does get me angry when other parents don't do such things... I know they are kids, but this is why they end up being kids only their mothers could love, ;)

It's understandable at Ee's age as she can't understand properly, but these kids were school age!
