Thanks Donna. Everything crossed that recovery goes well he is finding it hard to adjust and has been a bit upset tonight, doesn't eat any easier to see. I'm doing ok, relieved that the op is done and just wanting to make sure that dad and mum get through the next few weeks relatively easily. Just a bit knackered think I could sleep for a week! Recovering from cancer is a long process - you know my mum had ovarian cancer - I think there's a shock factor involved that its happened to them and then the how long til it comes back and finally i've survived and going to make the most of life - your dad will get there - just keep an eye on Mum because she will need support too - and so do you - make sure you reach out if you need to talk - pm me if you'd love my numbers or just a pm chat - will be here for you xxx

try and catch up on your sleep - are you at work?

I will look after mum just keeping her from stopping taking everything on is the hard bit. Thanks Hun thats much appreciated and I will take u up on that :)

I am at work in the mornings at the mo and them home in the afternoon to give mum a bit of relief, then next week me and mum kinda swap over! X

SO glad to hear the worst is over and your dad is now on the road to recovery. I'm also aware of how long and arduous the road can be not just for your dad but for you and your mum too. So as everyone else has said try to look after yourself as well as everyone else. :bighug:

Thanks pp. it is a long journey and don't think I appreciated quite how long and tough it could be until the last few weeks. I will look after myself I promise x

Broke up from work for a whole week off today (hate going on hold always worry somebody isn't going to be looked after and something will go wrong!) weir one this time as couldn't work out if I was looking forward to it or not. Week is going to be spent dad sitting lol but then I do suppose that it's a break from the craziness of work! Also gunna use the time off to good use and re connect with sw again do some proper cooked meals and start the c25k finally. I have the race for life looming and don't wanna struggle with it.

Sounds good that you're away from work for a week. Dad sitting is so sweet of you, such a lovely girl :) just make sure you set aside at least one hour a day for you - whether it's to do c25k or plan out some meals or have a pamper in the bath or read a book, just make sure you have you time! An hour out of the day isn't much xx

hope you're doing ok missy! xx

Hi all.

Thanku so much for all popping in whilst Ive been gone, for your lovely thoughts, squishes and love sent I have such lovely minimins friends. So the past few months have been more than crazy busy, dad has been recovering ok it's been a long old process and we aren't there yet. We seem to have focused on passing milestones dragging him thru with as little heartache as we can avoid, first the catheter coming out, then him getting dry and now it's just how he feels about himself and what he's been through. None of its been easy and he still goes from mood to mood in the space of 10 minutes, not easy to live with and requires a lot of walking on egg shells (which I'm exhausted from!!) Good news is that when he saw the consultant 2 weeks ago that they were pleased with his recovery so far and that they rated the success of op 7/10, he has had levels done again and they are coming down indicating that the cancer has been treated however he is not there yet and they will continue to monitor this.

In other news little brother finally got rid of the vile manipulating girl that he was going out with, he has been in mourning for months mind u and that has been less than fun but still an improvement on the state of mind he was in whilst he was with her, was sick with worry about him for a little while back there.

The drama does continue as always and we've just got back from the hospital with mum, they kept her her in overnight last night after we took her to a and e yesterday afty. They have told her she has bronchitis but yesterday she was not able to breathe at all and it was pretty scary, she is still struggling but not quite so bad. Poor mum is so exhausted tho.

Oh and diet wise I'm back at ww, me and sw just didn't have the time for each other. So far so good, as always with me it's an arduous process and I've had some weeks where I've lost the plot but after 8 weeks I'm 12lbs down and 2lb from my 5%. I'm pretty happy and do feel that I am able to maintain control of this easier than I can do sw which is most important.

Once again thanku for being around even when I haven't been and I am sorry that I haven't found time to pop in sooner, there hasn't seemed enough hours in the day or enough head space. Will be popping to catch up on everybody's diaries as well as I can do xxx
