Ketosis questions?!

How much can we safely lose in ketosis? This week someone in the group I went to lost 16.5lb. Surely that can't be healthy. 11lb I got to most.
So we are using fat for energy is that then running in our blood around our heart and stuff?
I'm not slagging it off I just like to know the ins and outs of everything really.
Plus it's more or less changin my life round :D
 
Theres no way to control what we lose, your body will basically dictate it. If its first week losses big numbers are very common. After that it tapers off to the average 3.5lb a week

Dont worry - its all perfectly safe :)
 
Your stored fat is being processed in your liver to retrieve the energy, and then the waste products of that de-energised fat (water and ketones) are processed through your kidneys as urine, or lost through water vapour when you breathe out.
