What are the advantages to doing LL over CD?

I've done Cambridge before but not really keen on the counsellor and there aren't any other counsellors in my area.

I quite like the idea of the LL meetings, how much does LL cost?

thanks in advance for your help

LL is £66 but going to £70 soon

The advantages over LL AND CD is CD is cheaper, but the same basis

it's already £70 I'm afraid as new legislation came in this year.

I've done both. LL wprked for me. CD didn't. I had so much more support with LL and continue to do so with the friends I made in my group. WE supported each other through Christmas to keep on track even though we all reached goal well over a year ago.

I have never done CD only LL but I would recommend LL as you really do get a lot of support from your councilor and you meet some amazing people in group. I now have some great friends due to LL. We have a monthly night out doing all sorts of things from salsa dancing to theatre trips and belly dancing, it really is great. Quite a lot of this is down to my LLC as well as she organises it all. It all depends what you are looking for in the diet. Personally, I think if you want life long success then LL is the answer. But which ever diet you choose, you do have to have 100% commitment or it will not work at all.

Good luck in your decision x

on CD you eat every four weeks for one week (well, you did when I did it) which I found really hard. LL you abstain for the entire time until you reach goal, apart from Milk week (when I found out I'm lactose intollerant!)

LL you get so much more support and realise you're not the only one fighting this battle. It's worth spending the extra money

very clear and informative. I am going to see a LLC this week, in part because I am intrigued by the group process and I want to know what one is getting for £70? a week. Is it mainly TA and CDT?

£70 a week pays for all food packs. Water Flavorings and Savory Drink powder is extra.
Then you get the group councelling. For the foundation period you have 1.5hrs per week. The group is single sex up to 12 people. LLC will discuss CBT and TA and you will explore the reasons for your eating habits and how you can look to change them in the future.

I find it's worth sitting down and working out how much you normally spend on food and drink per week at the moment (include all the little snack you buy and stuff too and be really honest) and see how much more the councelling will cost you really!! For me it is actually cheaper for me to be on LL than on my "normal" diet!

    Damn binge drinking!!!
