LL JULY STARTERS

Too right Mel. Funny how they suddenly
take more notice when you lose the weight - nice though.
Enjoy the gig and the attention. xxx

Hey lovely ladies

I have connection back, sorry for the lack of posts but no internet connection will do that for you. So glad to see you are all doing so well and having such fantastic losses and good to hear from you to Sam and to hear you are so much happier now.

Scotland was fab, RTM is good but scary as hell. I kinda almost wish I was still in abstinence :/

The admiring looks from men do help a whole lot though, and knowing I wouldnt have got those a few months ago makes me feel fab :)

Big hugs ladies and big congrats on the fab losses

Hi all - I went to the gig last night and was pulled up to dance right in front of the band by some random drunk guy! Because everyone was watching the band, I felt like everyone was watching me! I WAS MORTIFIED!! Then I thought, I would look even sillier if I was all pathetic and tried to get away....so i danced my way through the song then gradually back to my seat! Someone actually told how great i was, and it was a Britains got talent moment! I couldnt stop laughing at her, she was being so serious!!

After the gig we were outside the pub and a fight broke out, i saw a guy get his head cracked open and i passed out!! ive never done that before, so ive either developed a real dislike to blood or a mixture of the diet and loads of dancing made me faint. Who knows??? I was okay after 10 mins. Overall a very eventful evening!!

Peony - I would love to do a dancing as an excercise. I used to do salsa-cise at my gym and i loved it!! but my OH wouldnt do it and you generally need a partner. It doesnt sound sad that you do the badminton on a friday night! its nice that you and your OH do something together that you enjoy that doesnt involve food or drink! I love the story about your jeans....it is the little things that make you think. I have bought the book, but Im still on the introduction.

Good on you girl for brazening it out and dancing through the song - imagine how self conscious you would have felt 4 stone heavier! sounds like you were a little embarrassed for the right reasons - ie it's embarrassing being dragged up to dance by a stranger, not the wrong ones - ie it's embarrassing feeling fat in front of loads of people. Am I making sense - basically trying to say that it wouldn't have mattered if you were 4 stone heavier to all those people but to you it probably would and you had the confidence to stay up and dance through the whole song. Yay Mel!

Hey Jezabella - lovely to hear from you, glad you had a nice break. Hope RTM isn't being too traumatic. Are you posting in the folder on RTM? I will have to follow your journey. Keep it up hon. look at BL, she celebrated a year maintaining this week, before you know it we'll be in 2010 and it'll be your anniversary too.

Other little things I have noticed Mel that are brilliant - and things I didn't notice that I couldn't do as I put the weight on :

My daughter can sit further back and more comfortably on my lap at bedtime when I am reading her a bedtime story without so much tum in the way!

Sleeping is so much more comfortable, when I get into bed I really snuggle into the mattress, I had got to the stage where even finding a comfy position laying down wasn't easy!

When I lay on my side my knees knock together lol! got used to them being more padded!

I can do up my shoelaces with ease!

I am sure I'll think of more! Just imagine what the list will be like when I am at target!

Enjoy your sunny Sundays, I gotta clean the bathroom first bah.

xxxxx

you saying that about your daughter has reminded me of a couple,

I changed my 7month old on my lap last week. There has never been enough room before now!!

and my 4 yr old keeps telling me im getting younger!! (she is now my favourite LOL)

hehe great realisations ladies.

There are SOOOOOO may things that slim people take for granted - they would never dream that those things were such a joy to us, after not having been able to do them.

One of my favourites still, is being fully submerged in the bathtub.....no islands....and no damn. :D

Also, flying is so much more comfortable, andon our 11 hour flights back home, that is a big one. On some airlines, depending on the space between seats, I can actually put my pillow on my dinner tray (with no dinner of course! :D) and lay down - and wait till you see how much extra seat belt strap you will have!! :)D

Oh BL, the bath! Oh what joy. I am such a huge bath fan, I can't wait till there are no islands lol! And yes, having booked next years holiday I am so looking forward to having loads of room is my seat. Need to focus really hard on these things at this precise moment as OH is making a sunday roast and the smell is torturing me!

Im getting married in Antigua in 2011. I keep looking at wedding dresses online. I am Soooooo looking forward to next summer and going to all the wedding fairs and trying on all the dresses!

No holidays planned because of the wedding, but I do have a major shopping trip planned. Im back to work in 2 weeks. I will be at least 4 and a half stone lighter (hopefully it will be much closer to 5) than when they saw me after i had the baby. So I have decided to go back 'tailored'.

No more pumps and tents - im going for a new look. Smart feminine shoes with a heel and darted shirts. My OH has said i could get a new work wardrobe as a treat for getting to my half way point. (im just getting it a week or 2 early lol) i know i shouldnt be spending loads, but this is one of the 'biggy' events that has kept me going. I just hope i dont get to the shops and bottle it, ill probably come back with loads more 'floaty' tops. (im taking my sister with me for back up)

BL - Congrats on your anniversary!! You really do look great. From your pictures you can see you are beaming from the inside!

I used to hate flying because of the reason i couldnt eat off the tray! everything used to slide off down into the back of the seat infront! And I dont think i have been fully submerged in a bath since i was a baby!! I dont bother with baths now i have only had showers for years. I wonder if i will get a new love for them once the water covers ALL my bits lol.

Well have a great week gals - cross your fingers for a peony loss for me this week (4lb) as that will give me my 4.5 stone achivement.

Take Care

THanks Mel!!

You wont get floaty tops - trust me! Now, I try things on and say "ohhh, its not TIGHT enough!!!" :rotflmao: I mentioned that somewhere else - your style really changes as a rsult of this!

Go for a tailored look - your collegaues jaws will hit their desks!! Its a great feeling that!!! :D :D :D

xx

Mel, BL is the font of wisdom on shopping, well she and SB are. Trust me when I tell ya, your idea of what you want to wear and will wear totally changes. I am still working out my "new" look but it absolutely contains a lot more fitted things than before. I am also taking a massive interest in the clothes in magazines now, whereas pre LL I would only look longingly and never picture myself in them, now I look and think ooh I could wear that, it is so very exciting. My first weekend in abstinence, I cut out loads of pictures of clothes I thought I would like in the future, but would never dare to wear, made a little collage out of them, now I could wear most of them. I also went to the Gok Wan page on the Chan 4 website, and he has a great thing on there, where it analyses your body shape and then gives you the right styles to wear for it. Then it links you into all those things that suit you that are currently on the high street. Well worth a look as I am trying to base my new wardrobe on things I like that work for my shape so I look as good as I can.

Let us know how shopping goes.

That sounds fun - but I can;t find it?? Do you have a link hon?

Hi Jez - I am really looking forward to my shopping trip. I am trying not to expect I will look like a size 10 - lol. I am now getting into my old size 20's comfortably so I am hoping work shirts that are a little fitted will look ok (keeping everything crossed). However, I am only 5'3'' and short waisted so we will have to see!!

I am determined not to come back with floaty numbers and tents. I want to be proffessional and smart. However, i know what im like!! I am hoping that if i buy a few 'well made' shirts rather than the cheap and cheerful i used to buy, that will make a difference!!

Any tips will me greatly appreciated!

Hey Lovelies

It is called Goks Style Consultation I will post the link, but I found it by clicking on the How to Look good Naked page and then clicked on the style consultation. It is great to print off and take out with you when you shop.

Channel4.com/Gok’s Style Consultation <--- that is the only link it will give me, but if you click as above you should get there, it is in pink 3rd link down on the LHS. He also has a range of fantastic and I mean fantastic and half the price of Rigby and Peller underwear. It minimises and maximises just wear it should and makes your clothes look fantastic on. Really is the basis of a good new wardrobe - lol I just saw pix from Scotland in the old bra and omg hooper droopers!!!

Let me know how it goes.

Hi ladies

Hope you are all well just dropping in to say iv dropped 2 half lbs tonight not doing to bad 8 & half lbs in 2 weeks. Thanks jez for link i am going to check that out right now.

miss you guys x x x sam x x x

HEY SAM!!!! Its soooo great to hear from you. Well done on another 2.5lb. We will still be here to support you even if you are on a different diet!! We are going to the same station, just on a different train (maybe the diet has affected my brain lol)

Hello beautiful ladies
Thanks for that link Jez, I will look at that. Funny, I have a similar thing to your scrapbook - I have a file in the design package I use for my work and everytime I find something I like on line I paste the picture into it. I have no idea of my style anymore, as for so long it has been anything black and floaty (as many others find too). I spent some time in Monsoon yesterday as I figured I must be into their sizing - I tried on a coat and it was too big. Oh joy. Can't wait to wear nice fitted stuff.

Mel, you have such a great target - a wedding, and you are right, by next year you will be at target and will be able to try on any dress you like. I found the whole wedding dress shopping experience wholly depressing as I just couldn't lose the weight. (What I wouldn't have given to have know about LL before my wedding!) Bless him, my husband said that if I wanted I could buy another dress when I am happy with my weight and he would get a suit and we could have our pictures 'retaken' - he know I hate our wedding pictures. Lovely thought but wouldn't feel right somehow. I would consider renewing our vows and having a reception style party to mark our 10th anniversary though in 2013. That would be fab.

Hello Sam my lovely, I was thinking of you only yesterday. you are doing really well. Keep it up and keep us posted honey.

I was really chuffed at last night's weigh in as even though I lost 2 raher than my recent string of 4's, that 2 was enough to give my my 4 stone! So chuffed, lovely round figures too, 4 stone in 12 weeks, would love to lose another 7 by the end of the 14 weeks to bring it to 4.5 stone in foundation, but not the end of the world if I dont.

Good luck Mel hope you get your 4 lb for your 4.5 stone today.

Love to all
xxxxx

Hi Peony - WELL DONE ON YOUR 4 STONE!!!! That is such a great achievement. You must be over the moon!! It wont be long before your husband is telling you off for buying all those clothes in your little folder!!

I bought a fitted shirt off ebay and it came yesterday. Not only did it fit, but it looked nice! So im getting even more excited about my shopping trip now.

(the only thing is that shirts need to be ironed! i only ever bought floaty tops and baggy crinkled shirts that didnt need ironing lol)

Im afraid there is no chance of a 4lb weight loss tonight. Looks like I might be 1 or 2lb as well this week!! I will be pleased with any weight loss though! I havent had much water this week..I need to make a proper effort to drink like I did at the beginning.

Are you worried about going into developers? Im wondering if it is going to be disheartening watching people coming and going when I still have loads to loose. Im hoping I will stay postitive and use it as proof the diet works and I will be joining them one day!

Hi Mel
thanks hon. I know what you mean about the water - I too didn't drink enough last week - been making a concerted effort to drink enough this week.

Also laughed when I read what you said about ironing as this is something I thought about recently. I boldly told my husband that when I was at target I was going to ban myself from wearing anything made out of jersey or tshirting. It dawned on me later that if I follow through with that I will have to start ironing my clothes. At the moment if I get my stuff straight out of the machine when it finishes and hang it up, I don't usually need to iron anything. Oh well, it will be worth it lol - and maybe I'll allow myself a couple of things in t shirting!

Mean't to say earlier - your colleagues will be gobsmacked when you slink back in - the normal rule is that when women go back after maternity leave they are bigger. Would love a photo of their faces when you turn up looking so much slimmer! Stick to your guns and buy the fitted stuff hon - like the ebay top, so pleased it fitted well, it can be such a gamble buying clothes off ebay. nice one.

Well good luck tonight, look forward to hearing how you got on.

xxxx

Hey Peony - I lost 3.3 today. My next aim is losing 7.5lbs by a week monday. That gives me a week and a half. That means if I weigh myself on Monday morning before I go into work and I hit that magic number i would have lost 5 stone and I will be half way through my weight loss.
