LoChan's diary - hello!

I'm thinking of becoming a magician, my disappearing act is second to none :p
Have managed to get myself sorted out finally but have been ballooning to new weighty heights and WW is not doing any good so I've decided to get myself back into the SW fold, possibly even starting at a meeting soon if I can get son-watching sorting out for one evening a week :D I finally got through the Ofsted hoops for becoming a childminder, it's hard work though so I reckon getting back into minimins for daily catchups will do my mental health some good, along with helping with the poundblasting hehe. Trouble is I've lost loads of my SW recipes 'cause my laptop was killed last year and it took all my notepad stuff with it *grrr*. Don't have as much time for cooking lovely things either so it's time to get creative with the quick and easy but still yummy food.
Also need motivation help with fitting in exercise at the end of –very- long days as I metamorphose into a lazy sofa-slug most evenings lol
Got to go through all the old books and sort a shopping list out to be prepared for the big First Day, catch up soonish xx

LO!!!!!!!! So good to see you back, no time for a proper read or response but it is lovely to see you here again XXXX

Right, I've read your post properly. Welcome back to SW, thank goodness you posted so many of your recipes here, at least you can go back and look at what you were eating on your diary.

Congratulations on getting the childminding approval and getting your head into place. Thinking about 'body magic' as SW call it, what would appeal if you had the energy? Am I right in remembering that you did a lot of walking? I'm just wondering if you could fit anything in around the minded children.

How many do you have, and what ages? Could you get more involved with their physical play? Now that summer is here, taking them for walks, to the park and throwing a ball around with them? That sort of thing. Or I have vivid memories of when my daughter was very small and we went swimmming and I was desparate for some proper exercise, putting her in one of those floaty seat things and doing leg only lengths pushing her along. As well as doing things with her for her benefit of course, and she did enjoy being pushed.

I expect to see another post here, don't you go disappearing again, OK :) :)

Here I am again Micci lol
I did more walking with my son’s school run but with now working four days a week that’s been cut down quite a fair bit. I’m working with my Mum so we usually have six children during the day between 6 months and 3 years. We do go out every day for outdoor play activities so I’m probably moderately active but I like to fit in some structured exercise otherwise I don’t feel like I’m doing enough. I’m going to a circuit exercise class on Mondays (my only weekday off) which is run by the NHS. I’d probably enjoy swimming but it’s not practical to do with the childminding kids with too many to keep an eye on… and I’m not feeling self-confident enough to go on my own yet… Maybe I’ll start going after I get some weight off. I guess I’ll just have to get off my bum and go pounding the pavements on the weekends, thankfully the plantar faciilitis (sp?) has eased up for me now so that’s an obstacle removed.

Started back on plan today, going Green . Got to decide if it’s worth going to a group or if I can manage just weighing myself at home and coming on here instead to be frugal, and for the good company too :D
Will post my food diary later on, having mostly boring things to keep it simple today. The Hopping John rice in the current mag looks yummy so will try that and some other cooking bits over the weekend reckon. Just found my pumpkin breakfast cookie recipe in my old subscribed threads so looking forward to one of those at the weekend :)
See you later xx

Food diary for yesterday:

GREEN

B: 0% fat greek yogurt, blueberries & strawberries. Two alpen lights (hexb)

L: Two slices toast (hexb), mushrooms, baked beans & scrambled egg.

D: Hoppin' John rice (sw mag), cheese omelette (hexa), subway side salad (1.5 syns for dressing)

S: mullerlightx 2, banana, latte (hexa), cadburys jelly popping candy shell bar (12 syns using 1 syn=20 cal rule)

Not a bad day all in all though was shattered with it being the end of the week.

Off out today to see Evil Dead with the O/H as a belated Anniversary date :) Going to Wagamama so probably have to guestimate syns. Shouldn't be too much if I go for one of the ramens. Shall get some body magic in while walking round the shops, got to talk the O/H into buying me a baby george grill - don't think I cam get away with asking for an Actifry yet lol.

Hope everyone is enjoying the start of the long weekend :)

Still on track, so far so good :D

Day 2 Extra Easy

B: All Bran Golden Crunch (hexb), chopped banana and mullerlight.

L: Pork Ramen at Wagamama (allowed 6 syns for guess at 1 tbsp of oil)
D: Peri Peri chicken, Hoppin' John rice & steamed veggies. Eton Mess (1 syn, no meringues in the house :sigh:)

Snacks: fruit salad, twister lolly (4.5 syns), latte (hexa), yogurt, banana, Alpen Light bar (3 syns)

Had a nice day out though stupid MBT shoes hurt my legs after a while  Film was decent, gory but a bit too 'serious' compared with the originals. Got my baby george, definitely can't afford the Actifry yet, minimum of £169.99 in argos, ouch. Have made a deal with my O/H that if I have no takeaways for the next 8 weeks I can get one then with the money saved, should be easy if I stick to plan. Looking forward to seeing how many lbs I can shift along with £'s saved :D

Hey sweetie, good to see you back, missed you heaps. Good to see you back on track. You'll get that actifry no problems. Sorry going to have to burst your bubble here, I remember one of the girls in my group going to wagamama and thinking it was quite low, your pork ramen just cost you 35 syns my lovely..,.. God knows where the syns are hidden but that's what they are quoting on SW. Just draw a line under it sweetie and just enjoy it as a flexi day, you'll do fine I know. I am AWOL a lot these days, what with running after Kelly, babysitting Harry and running after my lot it's never a dull moment here lol ah well thats life for ya eh? Always throwing me a curve ball, certainly keeps ne on my toes lol. Anyways good to have you back lovely, speak soon and have a fab weekend xxx

Pork Ramen = 35 syns = Oh booger :8855:As you say, I'll draw a line under that and class it as a Rookie Mistake :D

Guessing Harry is grandchild number 4, Kirsty's baby? I'm well out of the loop and have taken AWOL to new heights of grandeur lol See you on here when you have a spare moment to catch up, hope you're still cooking nice things - I've forgotten a lot of my recipes. Found the hot and sour soup one in my saved threads though so looking forward to some of that :)

Best thing to do hun, it's a learning curve, was just checking out all wagamama meals and there are 2 x 1 syn meals, 1 x 5.5 syn meal, a few between 7.5 and 15 syns (11 in total) and the rest range between 20ish and 40+ syns  definitely best idea to make your own Japanese meals lol and yes I am still cooking and experimenting, I get too bored sticking with the same stuff all the time...just need time to put up my recipes and menu's ....having said that I have a pretty free day today, first in god knows how long ....don't even have Mark here (you'll have to read my diary about that one) as he is off to Mum's for dinner, so I can take a well earned break, lol break my ar*e doing the squat push up and sit up challenges and they are taking a good bit of my free time too lol...thankfully the weight is going again so I am dead happy there, what with everything that went on last year and the first few months if this year...... my skin and health problems I managed to put 15lbs back on and so far have lost almost a stone of that in the last 2 months, but I was dead chuffed that it was only 15lbs gain in about 15 months, in a previous life it would have been 5 or 6 times that amount in that period of time...so thank you SW lol.
Yep Harry is Kirsty's bubby, he is so gorgeous Lo, I absolutely adore him, I love and adore all my grandkids they are so gorgeous but Harry is by far the happiest baby I have ever met in my life and he is just so adorable and cheeky and his first word was Nan too, so how can I not love him to bits lol ...plus he lives here with Mum and Dad right now so I get to spend loads of time with him.
I lost a lot of my recipes too when my puter crashed but I have managed to get a few back and I have all the slimming world books that are available plus some that are extinct but still viable so just give me a shout if you need to know anything. xxx:hug99:xxx

Oooh, when you have time could you let me know the lower syn dishes for wagamama as that's one of the two restaurants I ever get taken to with the O/H (fussy booger ) - would be good to know what the healthier choices are.

What's this Break your Ar*e challenge in aid of? lol You've done pretty well limiting your gain to 15lbs and getting rid of most of it, I hope some of your determination rubs off on me to keep going this time :)

Harry sounds absolutely lovely :) I can imagine it will be very hard when they move away so as you say make the most of the time they're still there with you. You'll have Kelly's new arrival to get acquainted with soon enough aswell, when is she due?

I keep swinging between broody and 'never again' when it comes to kids as we've got bit of a mix with childminding, some are absolutely lovely, others always have runny slimy noses... swings and roundabouts lol

It seems really quiet on here now, a lot of the old gang's diaries have gone quiet - did I start a lemming's rush off minimins?
:(

Will have to entice people back with some good old fashioned Food Porn lol I've took a couple of pics of weekend stuff to stick up later, not sure how much I can do during the week while working. Will just have to get used to a new healthier routine - hopefully the better food will give me more energy. I got used to hiding in my bed sleeping the days away for the most of the last year so I'm a bit weedy and lathargic. Probably could do with some squat/sit up challengy things myself to get the adrenaline going :)

Food diary for Sunday (Day 3)

B: Bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans and crispy potatoes.
0% Liberte blueberry greek strained yogurt - I've counted it as free as it is like 0.1% fat and 83 cals for 1 pot but I'm not sure...

L: Citrus honey mustard chicken (2.5 syns), last of the Hoppin' John & griddled veg.
Eton mess with mini meringues (3 syns)
Citrus honey mustard chicken.jpg

D: SW Lamb hotpot & steamed veg.
Lamb Hotpot.jpg

S: Mullerlight, Weetabix crunchy bran (hexb), banana, 150ml ss milk (3.5 syns?), latte (hexa), mini milk chocolate lolly (5 syns)

Going to make that meatball pasta bake out of the current SW mag for tea - should make a nice lunch for tomorrow too :)

I told my mum I was starting SW again on friday. She decided she's going to start again on tuesday - she's expecting me to cook her nice things for lunch every work day. I'll have to charge her a food supplement lol She's not going to a group though and I'm still in two minds about going on my own, my anxiety keeps rocketing my pulse rate up when I have to deal with new places/people. I'm supposed to be taking Orlistat prescribed by my GP too but I don't like it - I'm due to see her again in two weeks so I might ask if our area does Slimming World by Referral, free meetings could be an incentive for me to walk through the door. Just depends on the type of consultant I end up with, some are known as 'God' and others are just... well not  Won't know unless I try though, huh? :)

Hey :) welcome back! We missed you on here! Welcome back to sw too-I rejoined 3 weeks ago, would rather be losing slowly and regularly, than yoyoing the same couple of stone! Look forward to following your progress xx

Yay it's Jo! I was just going to visit your diary - trying to find all the old gang but loads of ppl have disappeared -JackieN seems to have had her diary deleted :(

Same thing with me returning to SW - I kept trying WW and other things for ages but nothing works as well as SW when I do it properly

How has your running been? I've started a circuit class on mondays run by the NHS and the health trainer there wants to get me running within the year. I laughed in his face but you never know lol.

Great to 'see' you :D xxxx

hi just subscribing x

no not yet dunno whether too yet as I ain't got a clue xx

Lol give it a few weeks until you find your feet then :)

I'm not uptodate with latest healthy extras yet but I know most other things so you can always give me a shout on here if there's anything you need to know. I might start going to group myself in a couple of weeks, going to chat with my gp about it first to see if I can get a free referral. I just started self-employment so am having to penny-pinch a little until I get settled into it.

Yeah its great to 'see' tou too! i haven't posted in my diary for a while, lots has happened in the last 6/12 months, and there has been a lot of negativity floating round the forum so alot of people have either left or stopped posting as much! I had just got back into my running, and then I fell down a flight of stairs in work last Sunday an have badly sprained my ankle! Still not able to walk properly on it, and not allowed to even attempt anything more for atleast 6/8 weeks! Once I'm allowed I'm going to start running again! Am gutted to be honest as was well up for doing the race for life! Some things are sent to test us eh!
Ooh-I heard a rumour that the slim pod section was deleted so that could explain the absence of jackies diary? xx

Ouch you poor love, make sure you do follow doctors orders and rest up properly so you don't make things worse
:) What work are you doing now? I hope it's less stressful than the last time I 'saw' you here?

That's a shame about negativity being about and puttin folks off - it was all really friendly and funny when I was here last. Will have to do my part to make it like that again :) I think the slimpod section completely passed me by, Jackie was in the silver member's section last time I saw her here... just have to hope people pop up again I guess. New people with a sense of humour are welcome too of course, I'm not overly exclusive :D

Hiya Lo

it's good to see you here and sounding positive. So good the plantar facci whatsit has eased at last too. Mine is good as well although I got struck down with sciatica nad was a tad immobile for a while. I might still have an op fr that, I turned one down a couple of months ago and will see the surgeon in two weeks to talk about options now. Childminding sounds tiring, I'm glad that I no longer have to cope with littlies.

Talking about people disappearing, a couple of people I knew here have been banned. I am intrigued. Yes slim pods have disappeared and looking around the admin section I notice a post about linking to social networking sites and talk of removing threads and banning. I have had my earlier sig removed and post carefully.

Happy Tuesday dear Lo
