Lost 4lbs in a year!!!!!!!!

I had the painters in yesterday. I'm being literal, men with ladders, it was chaos. I ended up with a frozen ready meal, really grudge the syns but hey ho.

Haha!! :D I thought that was a euphemism for what apparently now is called "star week"!
It's eaten and gone and in the larger scheme and probably your overall calories won't make much difference. More importantly whare you painting and what colour? I'm hoping for fire-engine red whatever you're painting!

So how'd you feel about this week? I'm had a too heavy a red-meat week - chilli, spag bol and beef massaman curry so need a few veggie days next week. Don't think I'm over my syns but am anticipating staying the same - long as I don't go up which is my usual 3rd wk pattern, I'll be happy.

Victory for today - no hula hoops! ... even though there's one lonely packet sitting in the cupboard. I am planning a Double Decker for later for my syns - just 8 more bars left!

Only 8 !!!!! I'm pretending I couldn't polish them all off in one weekend.

I'm doing all the rooms except the living room and one of the bedrooms. The kitchen will be duck egg blue and the rest just white and magnolia.

I've subscibed to this thread http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world/301338-what-you-going-do-differently-week.html I thought it was quite a good idea. I will eat 2 portions of fish this week.

I'm still enjoying SW but I'm a bit fed up of fruit and yoghurt. I made a pretend cheesecake and it was quite nice but it was in essence yoghurt and fruit. Masochistically watching the comic relief bake off. Could murder a big slice of cake.

I don't eat much meat and I'm spending syns on bread so Green might suit me instead of EE so I might try it soon. Are cream cakes hexa or hexb on Green?

Still love options and still got the crunchie. Congrats on the hula hoops.

Onward and downward.

I made the sw strawberry mouse and chopped some fresh strawberries into it. It passed the 'would I eat this at my dream weight test'

Very tasteful colour scheme - restful too. My OH loves cream and all variances on walls - me I'd have funky wallpaper or a non-shade of beige - alas no :(

And the only reason he bought the DDeckers [he tells me after I ate one] is cos they were reduced to 18p as they were out of date! When I ate them they were strangely solid like petrified wood - yes I still scoffed it but odd tasting. I tell you how you're managing to resist that Crunchie is beyond me!

I'm going to check that thread out after weigh in tomorrow - I'm not yet sure what I will change - less treats perhaps not sure. If you're not much of a meat eater I really recommend Green days. Getting 2 Hex As & Bs so being able to have proper sarnies etc is great. I should try and plan them in if I know I'm having a veggie day, I've been exclusively EE for now. You'd think cream cakes would be the perfect marriage of HEXA&B but sadly this is not the case ... :p

This weekend it's my brother's birthday so I'm going to make a nice dinner AND birthday cake. The cheesecake sounds a bit of a non-goer - once you find yourself breaking it down into its ingredients it really hasn't worked. I made low fat cauliflower cheese and I could just taste low fat fromage frais with a vague hint of cheeese - I'd rather not have it.
I will make proper cake and I will have one slice and get him to take the rest home. I'll probably make a cake for work too but not have any - strangely I can resist if it's not actually in my kitchen - just got to limit tasting buttercream and ganache. The strawberry mousse sounds good for the warmer weather - supposed to get up to the giddy heights of 10 degrees tonight but we'll see!

I have decided that for my change next week I'm going to introduce pudding night. One day a week I'm going to use my syns on a real cake or pudding, though ww are acceptable. I used fromage frais, sweetener and white choc options for the cheesecake which I thought tasted a bit like dream topping. The problem bit for me is the base. The alpen light are nice enough but a bit over priced in my opinion and possibly a wee bit too sweet. I don't have many shops nearby so not everything is available without planning a delivery.

I have found that I need to have things like the crunchie in my house but they need to be kept out of site. I tried not having them in and making myself walk to the garage if I wanted choc but that failed miserably. After all, what's the point of walking all that way for one wee bar? Might as well buy 3 big ones to make it worth the effort. I also found I was craving treats more. I think in my head that once it's in my drawer it's mine. I have got it and can eat it whenever I choose. If it's not in my drawer I haven't got it, so I want it more. At the moment it's cake rather than choc.

That sounds like a great idea and emotionally good for you as well as for your taste-buds! I don't have any lower fat/syn cake recipes that I make but I did have a look on that Slimming Eats website and she has a recipe for 6 syn a slice cheesecake that looks really tasty and uses real sugar and cookies - looks ace! Baked Oreo Cheesecake | Slimming Eats - Slimming World Recipes - let me know if you make it.

I think cutting it into 6 straight away and freezing the others would keep temptation at bay. Apart from for me as I really like to eat cheesecake frozen!

My brother bought me the Hummingbird Bakery book before he knew I was on SW so I think it only right he should get the benefit - I might take a picture of it and upload if it looks worthy of being food-porn :D

God, catching up with your last posts is like an episode of ultimate food porn, I better leave quick as I fell into an evening of self induced gluttonyon Wednesday that saw me stuff myself with a French fancy, a jam tart and a little kit kat with a bottle of wine. Spent rest of week trying to undo damage, but scales show a pretty much deserved sts.
Tired of the incessant rain - stuck at home waiting for ex to bring kids back. Last few days have just revolved around food and when I can eat again. Hope it's a January thing and a new month will give me my mojo back.

That's great that you got a loss. Congratulations. It's a whole block of lard!!!!

I rescued my old WW scales from my parents house today. My thinking being that since the wii only measures pounds I'd get a lot of STS then a loss then a STS. I'd much rather see a small loss. Unfortunately I stepped on them and stepped straight off as they said I was 15st. I'll try using both on Monday.

Cheesecake definately all too easy to eat frozen. The portion issue is an issue because ultimately I will eat it all. I might be better to just buy an individual cake even if it's more syns and not quite as tasty.

LTM foody porn, guilty as charged. At least it was a little kit kat. We've still got snow. I much prefer it to rain, as these days I'm doing quite a lot of walking.

Weighed myself on the WW and I was 14st 9.5lbs but then weighed myself on the wii and got a STS,(sigh). Guess I'll take the STS and blame * week. My BMI was slightly down so I have lost, but less than a pound, I'm ok with it.

Hey girls - so I managed to find time to go for a sneaky swim yesterday, got to pool to discover had DD1's cossie, DD2's cossie and none for myself .... was too late to go back home and get back as pool closes early on a Sunday. So much for good intentions. Oh well. SW shepherd's pie with a 1/3 potato 2/3 cauli topping ready for the oven for dinner with green cabbage & broccoli. Weigh in Thursday - will see how close to my 11 stone 7 by Jan 31st I actually got to ...
What's for dinner?

For me its gammon steaks, cauli and brocc, and carrot chips.

Well done for trying to swim.

The weather here is awful today, stormy wind and rain, yuck, so I didn't go out walking. Instead I stayed in and tried to do my sons taxes. He should have done them himself ages ago not come running to mummy at the last minute so I'm a bit annoyed.

I have come to the conclusion that sons never grow up, because yesterday I witnessed my friends son having a tantrum over a banana. He is a consultant cardiologist!!!

The Wii always weighs heavier for some odd reason. I've got a Tanita one and then if I step on the Wii, it's a good 1-2lb heavier - I just don't log my weight on my Wii any more - I really did find it demoralising ... especially as my Mii is HUGE! Why not stick with the WW for now and just stay with it consistently, as you get close to goal maybe go with the Wii.

I currently do a morning weigh-in at my lightest but if I was closer to goal would change to evening as that's more "real" in my eyes - right now I'll take what I can get! :D

So congratulations on your loss - you know it's going down:)

Hey girls - so I managed to find time to go for a sneaky swim yesterday, got to pool to discover had DD1's cossie, DD2's cossie and none for myself ....

2 costumes for swimming - do you do a mid-poolchange? :D Reminds me of when I was little - I had one swimming costume my entire school life ie ages 9-15 and nearer the end of it's life I once wore it back to front! Thank goodness I was wearing a t-shirt else the other pupils would have got a right eye-full!
well done for the good intentions - today's been the warmest dryest day so far and I actually enjoyed my walk home - hill and all.

Today's dinner is the same as yesterday: Beef Massaman curry with steamed green beans and basmati rice. Maybe a FF Activia later - lots of syns in coconut milk + a few peanuts so can't afford any other treats.

His banana was slightly riper than everyone elses so he turned into his 3 year old self and stomped his feet, literally. He wasn't joking either.

My own darling son turned up after work and ate my crunchie!!!! Good job I bought a multipack of curly wurleys this afternoon isn't it? ;).

My daughter came round yesterday with a big bit of the banana cake she'd made and guilt tripped me into eating half of it. I told my son about it and how hard it was when people bake cakes and I'm on a diet. He nodded and said Jodi, his partner had made a cake and it was really sweet, 'I'll bring you a bit round'. Men!!!!

I've made a chicken and mushroom curry for tonight, really simple but very tasty. Love Indian food.

An over-ripe nana? Ha that is just too much! Love a curly worly - they must be quite low syns cos of the holes I guess. It's very hard to refuse food made with love it's true. Perhaps you could cut it into slim portions and freeze? Banana loaf usually freezes well and you'll have to wait for it to defrost so might not fancy it so much.

I saw my brother early in the week so he didn't get any cake - bad for him but good for me though. I am definitely making one this weekend - Malteser cake for work. It will probably get snaffled before I have some but might keep back a few sneaky maltesers for myself!

Your curry sounds lovely - I always find adding a big bunch of baby spinach to curries real helps get a bit of greenery in there - I think it'd go pretty well with your chicken and mushroom.
