Lost & Found... Map Gone AWOL!

Hope you had a good day hun!
Your diary is so refreshing, and your comments about the last year I can sooo relate to! x

Aw, great to hear from everyone.

I was not 100% yesterday... had two skinny lattes, which is fin I think, then a salad with hummus & falafel (protein but fat also). THEN... knew wouldn't be home till late so pushed it and had a cake as well. Didn't need it, wasn't worth it, left half. Grrr... haven't I learned this lesson already a few hundred times? Obviously not! Sigh.

Today, back on plan (my version of 1000-1200) and get the last half stone off. No more distractions!

Day in Glasgow was fab. Teen daughter & I spent a fair bit, which didn't feel guilty about as have been fairly careful so far this year. She got school trousers, skirt, cardi, tights, books & bag, plus cute beret and a pretty mini dress. I got a vintage dress for my collection, again the sort of thing I thought I'd never be able to wear again... so losing weight has been great in that way. Also LOTS cheaper than the new Boden dress and just as nice!

And lunch with a friend, so all in all a lovely day. Lots of work to do today then a trip to orthodontist with son, another long trip, what fun. Hope everyone has a great day!

yay you for the new dress darl! that's fab! glad you had a productive day and only ate half of cake too! real control!

have a great day today!

xx

Trish, just wanted to say, good to hear from you and you are SO close, please keep the faith... you can do it! What plan are you on hon? Have you seen Laura's challenge for the end of the month? Even if you sign up for 1lb, it is worth it to get that bit of extra motivation.

Jess, Trip, Sleepy & co... school shopping is much easier when they are 7 & 8 and do not ask for black stocking-type over-knee socks with bows on the top (eek) or skirts 'shorter than a pelmet' as my mum says. Still, fun to do girly shopping just the two of us, and she picked out the perfect 50s frock for me in the vintage shop, which shows she knows my taste. And both of us had no guilt at all splashing out on books!

AlexM & Lelly, it's funny... all of us have been on a big journey this last 6 months or more. It's really a LOT more than weight we have been losing... also some of the things that held us back, some of the skewed views and beliefs, some of the excuses we used to stop ourselves from trying. When all of that goes, you can see what is left more clearly. And of course in my case & for others too I guess, there are still problems left to solve, and challenges to rise to, but it seems more possible than it did before.

There is a huge sense of achievement from losing 4 stone (or whatever) and I don't want to lose that buzz or allow it to unravel. I like this version of me.

We can all be the best version of ourselves we can be, right?

Lelly, crossed with you hon. I think my collect-a-vintage-dress habit is getting serious... good job I don't live very near to a city! As for the control... not so much. The real control would have been saying no to cake as I was already full before starting it! Sigh. ONE day the message will get through to my thick skull!

Off topic, but have just realized (alerted by odd clinking sound) that there is a TEASPOON in my washing machine along with towels etc. WTF?!!! Don't really want to stop the wash & drain it (correction: not sure HOW as it is quite a new machine) so will have to hope for best!!!!

Hey Katy

Hope you've had a good day.

That's a novel idea putting cutlery into the washing machine...I have visions of you unloading the dishwasher and discovering a pair of y-fronts adorning your best china :D

xx

Lol, hope there is no lasting damage to washing machine! :D x

Katy,
Sounds like you had a great day with your daughter lots of shopping and a nice lunch sounds perfect.

Hope the spoon has done anything to your washing machine.. lol

Well, spoon survived, so did machine. Phew! Doesn't EVERYONE add a spoon to their daily wash? Got another wash on now, hopefully just the clothes this time! (What next? Pan? fork? wok? Or should I dissolve a CD hot choc in the washing powder compartment? Lol!)

Vintage dresses... I have about 8, some from my 80s art student days, some from post CD splurges this year... and a couple of post CD new dresses with a vintage feel. It's nice to wear the clothes I like again, and find they look good even at 'my age'! Thank you CD for that giving me the shape & the confidence.

WI today. I think I will just have lost a little. I had lost 4lb before Edinburgh weekend but have found it hard to get back on 1000 since, and though have not had any binge moments I have not made the best choices either. So I know I have not kept that 4lb off and I am sorry about that. But not going to panic. Today will be 100% and I can stick with it I hope and get things moving. And if I have a small loss, that will be OK.

We have friends coming Sun/mon/tues but that still gives me a few good clear days to get a pattern established and find my zone again. I can do this.

Good luck for the WI. I don't normal add any spoons to my wash but have found strange things in there before! Reminds me of the time not long ago one of my boys put a ball in my new oven. I only realised when there was a small fire, whilst cooking fish fingers. It had melted, started smoking then set alight!.....not impressed.

You can do this and find your zone, your doing great x

Hugs Trip.

Once took a new vid player back to shop for refund on Xmas Eve, as it had jammed with a vid of 'Lion King' inside, cried in shop as they said they couldn't help or replace it before Xmas and I was faced with family coming & no TV & two toddlers looking forward to seeing 'The Snowman' etc. Shop took pity & replaced vid. & promised to return the 'Lion King' vid.

After Xmas a padded envelope arrived full of plastic letters & the 'Lion King' vid . My 18 month old daughter had got the letters from the playgroup 'santa' and must have posted them into the vid player... oops.

Katy,
Good luck for your w.i. hun I'm sure you will do just fine.
Your dresses sound lovely, I feel I'm just slowly beginning to get to the stage of being able to buy new clothes again, but little bit at a time to get me through til the end.

Can't wait to have a big splurge when the end happens.

I know you will be able to get back in the zone quickly as you are so determined.

xx

Hi katy I'm on 810 at the moment, but going to go back on ss+. as I feel more in control. Been busy these past few days getting things like laptops etc sorted for my daughter who is off to uni in September. Spent a fortune at ikea yeaterday buying household items for her flat in the halls of residence. She got her A level results today 5 grade A's so proud of her. We're off to Manchetser early next week clothes shopping.

God luck for the wi

Thanks Alex, Trip, Laura, Trish. At weigh in, had lost 2lbs, more or less what I deserved. Feel stupid for losing 4 and then backpedalling. Grrr. Still, it is 2lbs lost all the same.

Trish, well done to your clever girl!!! Must be so exciting to be kitting her out for uni. What is she going to study? I do know how hard it can be to get into a plan again... good luck with whatever you decide. We can both do this!!!
