Mad Ramblings of a Yo-Yo Dieter......

Can't believe I forgot about your westlife gig!!!! if I had remembered when you were missing, I'd have assumed you had run off with them....swooooonnnn  glad you had a great night, you deserve those wee treats, its not the same munching an apple while at a night out is it? ;)

As LFM says, there will be those sort of nights and celebrations to cope with throughout our lives, even when we are all feeling stunning :D So if we treat ourselves now and then, without getting completely carried away, then there should be no real harm, especially when we are 'good' before and after! so never mind what the scales say on Sunday, you are still on track and if there is any 'damage' then the following week will be a good one...so relax, and enjoy!

LFM, do you want to weigh in on sunday with us this week, or wait until monday? I'll be weighing monday the week after as usual.

I know what you mean maisie about not enough time, it is now officially spring break up here from 12pm today! 2 weeks off school. and Spring????..its windy and rainy so far! Anyway, it can be hard to find a few minutes to yourself. but I'll log on when I can over the next 2 weeks, it might be later in the day, but I'll update when I can!

next time westlife come to scotland, I might actually go!!!!.....must start building that pyramid now, collapsible to fit in handbag though ;)

Have a brilliant weekend, and an enjoyable mother's day..and yummy roast dinner!

Rx

Thanks ladies :)

I'm hopeful that the damage will be minimal <fingers crossed>, I've been good all day today, which has been quite hard actually, but I've stuck to it so I'm feeling pleased with myself :D My big worry was that I'd end up thinking 'oh well, I've blown this week now, might as well carry on muching' as I have on many, many previous occasions  but I've managed to get right back on track today so it's all good!

I'm going to drag my tired and weary self off now to the sofa to see what's on the box for an hour or so before bed, so will wish you all goodnight from me <waves> :)

Thanks Emmaline :)

I'm feeling much better this morning after a good night's sleep :D I know one small blip does not mean automatic failure, I just need to move on from it now and carry on :)

I'm off to do my DVD now....... the exercise has been a bit poor this week which is a shame but I'm doing it today and next week is a new week :D

Same here LFM, this website and the support has been an absolute godsend :D

Have done my No More Trouble Zones with Jillian and am sweating like a beast (nice!) and feeling GREAT now :D

Have a great and happy Saturday everyone :) xx

Oh yes, me too ( or am I three? lol) In the past, I had a bad day that led to another then another and spiralled out of control..so you've got the right attitude, don't worry and anyway there are hardly any calories in a small bag of maltesers, and you'll have worked them off this morning..so win win situation maisie!

Good luck for the sunday weigh in  Have a lovely day :)

Rose, the bag I had wasn't a small bag :cry:I did share them with my friend though....... surely that helps a little!

Here's to a successful weigh in tomorrow for both of us :D x

<voiceover man>

Well, it's Groundhog Day in the Maisemoodle house this morning...... 1lb lost. Again.

I suppose after my little blip on Thursday night and the fact I didn't manage a lot of exercise this week I *should* be pleased with it but........ <stamps feet> my scales seem unable to move more than 1lb at a time and it's annoying me now!

<sigh> oh well. All those 1lbs add up I guess. Will stop being stroppy now ;)

Hey Maisie

well done on that lb, its a loss, and not a gut wrenching sts!!!! blah blah blah :D why are we so hard on ourselves? I am pleased I've lost 3lb, but as I said on my thread, I kinda hoped for more! I know how selfish that sounds, and I've given myself a good wrap on the knuckles, but I did stand on the scales, see them stop at 19 'something' and heard myself say...'YEEEEEEeeeessss, oh 'just' 3lb!!!' tut tut bad Rose , so going to celebrate the fact with a big smile instead  and remember for both of us...onward and downward...and here's to more loose clothing falling off us :)

just a wee afterthought, how would you feel about weighing in fortnightly to see a bigger loss? I couldn't do it at the moment, but maybe further down the line?????

HI Maisie
Weldone A 1lb is good:D it all adds up so much.
On the weeks when it goes quickly before we know it we have lost 3lb.

We would be devistated if put it on:cry:

I would like a big whamy, but chances are id put a 1lb on the next week.

Its the right direction, and summers 12 weeks away so say 14lb its a stone off at that rate, and that makes a huge difference on the body and confidence.

Hope you have a nice day xx:)

Thanks Rose and LFM :)

I honestly don't know why we're so very hard on ourselves  If it were anyone else I would be saying "1lb is great, it's all in the right direction, all those 1lbs soon add up, you've lost consistently for the last 9 weeks........" blah blah blah...... so why can't I apply all that to myself?!

Oooooh, not sure about fortnightly weighing Rose, will have to give it some thought! Can definitely see the advantage of showing a better loss, but I don't know if I'd have the patience to wait 2 weeks at a time ;)

If it aint broke dont fix it as my dear ole Nan used to say;).

But if it is seriously down the line when theres not much else to come off, then i think weekly you would be struggling to get a 1lb in.

Im nearly 14 and would attempt that at 11 to 11 and 1/2 Stone. So about a years time lol:D:D:D

I like your Nan LFM ;)

I think you're right..... maybe when I'm down to my last stone or so to lose I could do 2-weekly weigh ins then......

Good morning all :D

I hadn't exercised since Saturday  so made the effort to get up early this morning so I could do Level 3 of the Shred and I've just finished it. Mustn't allow myself to get lazy with the exercising.........!

Booked for spinning again tomorrow :cry: and am half looking forward to it and half terrified out of my mind....... especially now as I know exactly how hard it is! Still..... all for a good cause I suppose!

I watched last week's Supersize vs Superskinny last night...... I wasn't massively impressed to be honest. I mean, making the big lady eat practically nothing for the 5 days...... exactly how is that teaching her better eating habits? Thought it was a bit too 'gimmiky' really. I was moved at the bit though when she went to the US to meet the really large lady...... thought that was just SO sad :(

Enough waffle from me now ;) off to the shower now and to drag the kids out of bed! Hope everyone has a good day :)

Hi Maisie
hope today is good for you, the super skinny programme is so cruel. That person in thos 5 days will lose alot but its not good loss...it cant be:(

So they surely will have a depressing time when they leave the studio.

I watched one last yea where they went to usa it was the best bit of the programme.

As you say thou its commercialised and no more than a viewer grabber. It does nothing to inspire me or help my eating ideas.

we have rain here lots of it:sigh: got to go get GD, taking my swimming bands :D

cathc you later :)x

Maisie Moodle, its your Pedal Power session
hope it all goes well:) with your new purchase;)
Are you and Gillian still best mates lol.
Have you had a good week?

Hi maisie
hope you have enjoyed spinning and are having a good day :)

p.s. I couldn't do the fortnightly weigh ins either. by day 10 or 11 I would be insane with curiousity ;)

Hi LFM and Rose :D

Sorry, I've been a bit quiet the last few days....... it's just been a busy week and I've struggled to find time to come on here!

Confession time - I didn't go spinning yesterday, I cancelled my place  I woke up feeling sick to my stomach with nerves and fear  and I actually wanted to cry every time I thought about it. As much as I loved the buzz I got afterwards, I've realised it's not the exercise for me. I'd been thinking about it with absolute dread since Monday....... that's no good. Am going to stick with my DVDs for now I've decided :) Still loving Jillian and her methods...... have Shredded every day this week (apart from Wednesday) and am planning on doing the longer one for the next 3 days as I'll have more time now the kids have broken up for the holidays.

LFM, that was exactly how I felt about that programme, it did nothing to motivate me or make me look at my eating habits...... I just felt like it was reality TV at it's very worst, taking advantage of people who are already at rock bottom and it was very uncomfortable viewing I thought.

Rose! Hope you've had a wonderful break away :D off to catch up on everyone else now......... :)

Hiya maisie

not enough hours in the day sometimes? I know it well!

definately give the spinning class a 'no go zone' when something makes you feel unwell, don't do it! You don't need it, you are brilliant on your own exercising. You couldn't pay me to attend a keep fit class, I'd be ill and panicky at the thought, it would have to be a one to one..or not at all for me

Hope you have a good evening :)

Rx

Good decision Maisie, nothing should be that tortuous! Life is just took short and there's always other things you can try. I used to love body pump but I started a kettle bell class this week...boy! That's one tough workout and although I'm having trouble sitting down I'm going back for more next week!

Keep going!
Gem x
