Total Solution Mere's Diary

Gym this morning I did 45 mins Zumba followed by 30 mins climb at level10. Total calories used 510. Pouring with rain here so will not be doing the country walk. Had a chat with the personal trainer who is going to write me a new program on Friday so that I am fit enough for that blooming mountain!

This evening I went for a walk with my daughter, she is really keeping me motivated. Walked for 40 mins used 250 calories. Total for today 760 calories.

You have GOT to lose weight with all this exercise!

WI is tomorrow but my weight today is 1.5 lbs UP. I am devastated.

Its got to be water weight Mere !
Your muscles will be retaining water with all the additional exercise. Eventually it will balance out :)

Exercise makes your body retain water around the muscles so what the scales say isnt accurate. But you must be doing your body so much good :)

When I looked at what you said Marge I realised how silly I was being as I said almost the same thing to you just a wee while ago. My clothes are slacker but I have to admit that when I stepped on the scales I got a bit of a shock! I will weigh again tomorrow as that is my official WI day. Meanwhile today's exercise was an 8 mile hike with hubby from Dalry up to the highest point on Fairley Moor. Used 1200 calories in 2 hours and 52 mins. Walked over 1800 steps! Pleased with that as it showed me that I am fitter than I thought.

I agree with you Jael I must be doing my body some good and I am definitely getting fitter if not lighter!

Really pleased I managed over 20,000 steps today! :)

Its easier to give advice and mean it Mere than heed your own ;)
We know in our own hearts what the answers are, but believing or seeing them for ourselves is the difficult part.
Thats a great workout Mere :D
Sounds like my kinda day out :D
I love doing stuff like that :D

Don't worry about the gain, it can only be toilet issues, good luck for weigh in x

Well official WI up 1lb to 10st 6lbs so 8 lbs to get back to target weight. I am not going to worry as I have stuck to WS and done loads of exercise. Will weigh again on Monday as we are then in Skye hill walking for a few days. No shakes and afternoon tea as well as breakfast in our hotel package! Say no more.

Aww Mere. That's mental !
Enjoy your weekend and start again on Monday :)
I just wonder if you're doing too much exercise for what you are eating :hmm:
Maybe Monday's WI will help see if that could be the case :)

20,000 steps!!! Wow.

Well done on your weigh in no matter what it says, because you have been incredible lately! Great discipline food-wise and what can I say about the exercise ?! You're a star xx

Today's exercise was an hour walk and just over 400 calories.

You're doing great Mere xx

An hour with a personal trainer this morning. I was the only person in the gym! I now have a good program to get my fitness and endurance levels up and it will be reviewed in 4 to 6 weeks time. Used 425 calories in the hour.
Disappointed that I cannot get insurance to climb up to the top of Mount Kinabalu as it is over 4000 m high. I can climb to 10000ft which is still quite a climb but because I have high blood pressure there is too much of a risk that I could have a heart attack or stroke! So not worth the risk. We had to take out holiday insurance with a company that specialises in adventure holidays because we are doing a whole load of grade 2 risk activities. Paid extra premium so hubby could go to the top of the mountain so he will take my camera up with him to record the sunrise, next best thing!

Oh that's such a shame Mere, you must be so disappointed but you are right it isn't worth risking your health for, you'll still have the most amazing holiday xx
