Minimins CD 2008 - sign in thread

About time I signed on!

I'm a 26year old veterinary Surgeon living in the North East. I live with my fabulous fiance, my two boys (cats, actually) Dave & Nelson, and our stooopid black lab, Grace. I also have a horse, Millie.

To quote bridget jones, 'I have always been just a little bit fat'. An active child (Pony mad) I always was chunkier than my siblings & they used to tease me. I grew up feeling fat, even though looking back I really don't think I was. At school, PE lessons became a nightmare for me. I didn't want other girls to see my 'awful' body when I was getting changed, and so the excuses started to come thick and fast why I couldn't partake. We also used to have humiliating fitness tests and caliper/scales sessions. So, I became less active, started studying like a demon for exams, and that's when the weight started piling on.

At university, I partied hard despite being on a tough course, and soon dancing at clubs, lack of sleep and walking everywhere left me fairly trim. At times I was ok with my weight, but still was a size 14, never anything below. And I was certainly heavier than I should've been, although I never weighed myself.

The last few years since graduating & leaving a hectic lifestyle at Glasgow uni have been very up and down for me. I've battled with financial problems and depression, plus long periods living apart from my fiance whom I met at university.

Last year I got a really good job for myself, and got engaged, and things started to be on the up - until I realised I weighed 13st 10lbs!! I started slimming world at this point and lost 10ish pounds I think.

My fiance moved down from Scotland last August and we started to plan our wedding, and that's when it dawned on me how fat i had become. All my 14 clothes were becoming very tight indeed, and so I knew desperate action was required!

I descovered minimins whilst on SW, and was browsing one day when I found the Lipotrim board. That lead to me trying LT (but HATING the flavours yuck!) and totally falling for the idea of a VLCD and ketosis.

And so started CD on 1st November at 12st 10lb, and here I am now exactly 2stone lighter, and thrilled to bits. I still have a long way to go (want to maintain between 9st & 9st 7lbs I think) but I think I'm going to feel FABULOUS at our wedding on 30th August this year (Good date that, huh tansy?).

Sorry if I've rambled on but that's my story!

Hi ya, My name is Claire and I come from Southampton. I work for my local government as a anti-social behavior officer (sounds interesting, but it's not!) lol.

I've not always been over weight, in fact I was a size 10 until the age of 19 and it all piled on from there, (I'm aged 24 now).

I used to be highly invovled in sports and even represented my county in netball, but unfortunalty I had to give up after I finished college due to full-time work etc

Anyway I stared off last week weighing at 25st 8lbs! I'm 24st 7lbs after my first week after losing 15lbs. I'm aiming to get to around 11-12st as I'm 5ft 10.

I got married last year to my husband Andy who is a great suppport, the only thing I regret is not losing the weight before I got married, but hey I can't change that now!

Since I've got bigger and bigger I've noticed how much smaller and smaller my confidence has become all because how society see's me. Well I don't want to be like this no more and I want to get back to my old self again!

Hi as most of you know my name is louisa (lou). I am 27 and from Milton Keynes and married my husband Andy on 28th July last yr.

I started CD on 30th Dec, i was going to wait till the 1st but the time was just right and i was in the right frame of mind on the 30th so thought why wait 2 days.

Today is the start of week 4 for me and so far i have lost 16lbs and 4inches from my bust, waist and hips.

I am probably the biggest if not then one of the biggest members on the board right now at a starting weight of 31stones. I am at present 29stones 12lbs.

My first long time goal is to get down to 15stones and from there who knows. i really want to get down to a weight which is healthy for my height (5ft6) and a weight i feel comfortable with i am thinking around 10-11stones.

Reasons for doing it is to become healthier, enjoy more of my life, travel more and go on holiday and my biggest reason is to have a baby.

my msn messenger is: [email protected]
yahoo is: louisalevitt
you can find me on facebook under louisa levitt in the london network.
please feel free to add me to any of these or send me PM on here any time.

Hi, I am finding my way around this site, but there is just so much of it that I'm getting lost! I need to find out how to do one of those tracker thingies, but don't know where I put it!
I've started on CD ss yesterday. I did lipotrim 18m ago and lost over 3 st. I regained alot due to one thing and another, but have my brothers wedding as an added incentive to losing it all again! Everyone seems so motivated and successful at this. So far so good for me, BUT we are only on day "!

hi bb for a tracker if you go to Weight Loss - Diet Ticker
or click on someone elses tracker it will take you to the site they got theirs. choose a style and a picture and fill in the information. then there will be codes.
not sure if you need to raise your 'reputation' on here till you can see it but you need a certain amount of rep points till you can go into your 'personal message icon' under your name on the top right hand side.
once inside you will see an icon on the left which says signiture. click it and it brings up a post paste the code in there. then everytime you post it will be under that.
to change it click on your tracker and it will ask you to type in your pin and you can change the existing information and repaste it into the signature box to update.

Hi, my name is laaibah and i am 23 years old :). I am studying a Foundation Degree in 'Children's and Young People's Services: Teaching Assistant Specialism' and i hope to go on to become a Primary Teacher :D. I am at Derby Univeristy but i commute from Staffordshire .

I first started CD in April 2007 and i lost 3 stones in 3 months :D. But then i had to take a break due to Ramadan because i found it difficult to get through the day having to fast for 16 hours :(. Unfortunately i never got round to restarting back on CD and when i did decide to restart in December i became unwell with the flu and stomach virus.

During my break i gained a little over 1 stone :cry:but i have finally got to day 3 of my CD restart and all is going well :D. My CD history is in my signature and as you can see the diet definatley works. If you stick to it 100% every day then you will definatley lose 1 stone a month. So for all the newbies out there, if you wana see weightloss, stick to CD 100% and definatley go through the maintenance stages if you want to be sure to keep the weight off and control portion sizes and prevent your glycogen stores from filling up quickly.

* I haven't got a facebook account :rolleyes:.
* I have a blog in my profile which i started when i first did CD but i haven't blogged for awhile because i dont get the time . But feel free to have a read if you want to know what i went through in the first few weeks of CD.
* I have an MSN addy, but i would rather give that out through PMing, so if you want to add me to your msn, feel free pm me and i will give you my addy.

I look forward to hearing from you all and i wish you the best of luck on your CD Journeys.

Speak Soon xx :)

Hello,
New to this, never posted before. I've been reading for a while but scared to post in case I didn't lose any weight. I've been inspired by reading your posts and hoping I can lose weight but secretly thinking I'd be a 1 lb per week loser.
Started CD last Friday, 11.01.08 and got weighed yesterday - Saturday 19/01/08. Almost cried in Boots as I'd lost 11 lb. (getting weighed there so I don't knock extra pounds off by standing on one leg etc!)
I'm a 46yr old mother of 3. I'm an RGN. I've been needing to lose weight since having my last child 7 years ago but have faffed about losing 10 lb and putting 12 lb back on most of the time.
I've got to do it this time. Thanks for success stories and support, it's great. x

Hi, I'm Kelly and I'm 29. Tried LL for a few months in 2006 and lost 2 1/2 stones but have since put 2 back on! With the big 30 next month have decided I've finally had enough - I will diet and I will stick to it and this is going to be the first summer in years that I can wear nice summer clothes and feel comfortable. Also I'd like to start trying for a baby later in the year and dont want to be fat when I do otherwise god knows what weight I'll end up as when pregnant! I'm leaving my fat days behind in my twenties and this is the start of the new me............:)

Hi, I'm new. I've just started CD today but I've got loads to lose.

I'm Sharon, I'm 38, I've tried all sorts of diets (except cabbage soup ) and have always put on more than I've lost .

This is my year :) though.

I've tried cappucino (very sweet) and mushroom soup (nice) today and had 1 1/2 litres of water so far.

It's about time I added my info to this thread too :)

I'm Sharon, just turned 51 years old and I've been working as a full-time CDC based in the Epping Forest area of Essex since October 2006.

I'd been overweight for about 25 years and tried nearly every diet/slimming club before finding CD in February 2006.

I began CD weighing 18 st 11 lbs, lost 8 st 5 lbs to reach my target weight (10 st 6 lbs) in 10 months ... and have been maintaining ever since.

Good luck to everyone on CD, wherever you are in your journey. It really is life-changing stuff! :D

Hi my name is Di and I am a third age mum; my sons are 30 and 28 ...... age on a postcard please! I have always had a sweet tooth and love bags of sweets - usually when I am driving along on my own. (Dont eat them in public) I eat healthy meals and no puddings as a rule BUT I pick ... and pick ....and pick. So basically the picking is my principle downfall. I look to food for comfort/energy/boredom/when I am excited/when I am angry/the list goes on......... I sucked my thumb as a child/went on to bite my nails/progressed to smoking and then 32 years ago stopped. The weight has progressively increased and whilst doing all of those things I still indulged in bags of sweeties. I have been a yo yo dieter for years and have tried so many different ones. I lost 4 stone on Lighterlife but immediately put it back on and a lot more because I DIDNT follow through with the maintenance programme and re-educate my eating programme. I couldn't face going back to the same again but knew my best success came from divorcing myself from the choice of what to eat. Cambridge Diet has many flavours which is an added bonus and includes add a meal every fifth week and the principle behind that was my greatest motivation to give dieting another go. The lesson I have learnt is that I face a lifetime of reprogramming my head into sensible and controlled portions and here starts this journey. I started on 7th Jan 2008 and to date 3rd Feb I have lost 1 stone 5lbs - my inner self is ready now......

Hi, I'm DeeJay and I'm new to this forum, and to CD. I started CD last Sunday and have lasted my first week. I'm almost 29 and have been overweight my whole life, I wanted to do something about it before I turned 30. Unlike most people here I am trying not to focus on pounds and inches, because I know I could very easily get obsessed with weighing/measuring, and if the results aren't what I want them to be I could very easily get discouraged. So I'm working towards other goals, getting into my very expensive leather jacket that never actually fit me, getting into those favourite trousers that haven't seen the light of day in a few years, wearing that fab ring on my finger again etc.
I'm an Aussie living in London, an Office Manager by day, a budding photographer by weekend. And a potential slimjim!

Dee x
