miss r's SS/SS+ diary.

Hi Miss-R, how are you? Just been catching up on your diary as I haven't been around on the boards much due to work.
I would've beaten those horrible boys up for you, Hon! There are some horrible cruel people around. I have had a similar experience and it hurts like hell. I was walking in underground in London and these two guys said very loudly behind me "kill the fat ginger!". I also ignored them and just walked off faster, but as soon as I turned the corner I burst into tears. At least you've risen above it. Ignore them, Hon. You are worth so much more than that.
Anyway, enough of me rambling on.
Hope you're ok and that your restart goes well. Chat soon. x

Hi Tess
I'm sorry to hear about your experience in London. That is so nasty and uncalled for.
Words really do fail me.
Well onto better things how has your day been?? I will look at your diary, I hope you are alright today xx

Today I have had a blip, I had my first 2 packs fine, then my SS+ meal, which was enough but didn't taste very nice.
I tried to coat quorn chicken pieces in a small tsp of curry paste (naughty too) which I then added water to to thin it. And cooked up with chilli flakes, black pepper, added some slices of courgette and mushroom,
I still found the quorn a bit funny. I will get the hang of making it taste nice soon. I like quorn mince though.
Anyway my blip, not too long after my SS+ meal, I had 3 slices of brown bread, butter on two of those, and balsamic vinegar on the third, I also ate some leftover lasagne off my boyfriends plate. So not very good. And then I had some of his chocolate. He tried to stop me but I had some.
I have blipped probably because I haven't been drinking enough water recently, and I ought to start having psyllium husks again to keep me feeling full. Anyway I am not having my third pack, and will start again tomorrow.

Hi Miss-R, nice to hear from you, Hon. I'm ok thanks. Struggling through. I've heard of the Psyllium husks. Do they really work? If so, I may get some when I get paid.

Hon, I'm sorry you've had a blip. Just draw a line under it and start again tomorrow. Don't beat yourself up about it. We're all human.
Hope you have a better evening and an even better day tomorrow. Chat soon. x

Hi Tess
Thanks I am doing better today, I got rid of the loaf! well gave it away.

Psyllium husks can be bought in capsule form, which I find easier to take in a way but they have gelatine in, not that i'm vegetarian and i'm not too sure about the ingredients so I recently started using Psyllium husk powder.
What you do is you add to water I add 1 tbsp but I used to have less, and drink straight away (it thickens on standing - I tested it!) and drink lots of water afterwards. Drinking with just water made me want to gag a bit but I add extra water so its not so concentrated and today I added half my allowance of water flavouring and it really helped.

Doh!!
I have just realised i've read it wrong and thought you asked how you have them, oh well it might help someone. To answer your q, do they work?? Well they work for me!

Hope you are having a good day xx

Thanks Miss-R, I'll definitely give them a go. :D

Today I rejoined the gym after 6 months (in the summer I like to exercise on my bike etc) and I did 15 mins on the lazy bike, well recumbent bike I think its called, then I did 15 mins on the elliptical trainer I was surprised I managed 15 mins on that. Then I did some arm weight machines and one leg weight machine, I tried not to overdo it but it definitely was a good workout. I expect I will ache tomorrow!
It seemed to be a bit easier than it used to be and I am certainly no fitter as I haven't done much exercise recently, so it must be the weight loss.
Foodwise I have had my 3 packs, 1/2 allowance of quorn, with 2 flat mushrooms, and separately some tinned tuna, and one chip shop chip.
But in the past I would have never been able to stop at one chip so thats progress. I don't feel too guilty as i've been to the gym though.
Feeling abit tired, i've been up since 6am and gym so I think I will sleep well tonight.

Yesterday I had my first pack, then I had my SS+ meal. I usually have 2 packs first and wait until 6pm for my SS+ meal but was hungry yesterday so got the quorn on the go. Then later I had my second and then I had my third pack at about 8pm. I am mainly having choc tetras at the moment. In the evening I was very hungry so I cooked a fillet of fish (haddock) with a bit of dry tarragon and ate that.
I weighed myself today and the weight is coming off, my scales said 15st 5lbs so thats good. Thats the lowest my weight has been for probably 3 or more years.
By the time I next get weighed on CDC scales I would like to be 15 stone 0 pounds . I have 10 days for that.
Just had my first pack of the day, a choc tetra.

Today I have tried some more clothes on that don't fit, too big!
So thats good.
My weight seems to be going down slower than i'd like though so I am trying to do things differently today.
I have just had some psyllium husks washed down with orange water flavouring flavoured water. I haven't been having them much recently and have been feeling more hungry (probably psychological hunger) so I am going to start having them and see if it helps stop the hunger as I will feel more full. I am usually looking forward to my SS+ meal at this time, and i'm not too hungry right now so thats good.

Today, I didn't drink enough water but since 4pm I have made up for it so expect to be getting up for the toilet every 5 minutes tonight.

I also had 2 cups of tea today, I don't usually drink tea. I made it with a tiny bit of skim milk and a splenda tablet. I will end up pouring the milk away as its taking me ages to use a small longlife carton especially as I only leave the tea bag in for a few seconds so don't use much milk.
I suppose I could freeze normal skimmed milk in icecubes, I have never done that before.
I am on SS+ but have a little meal so am not really allowed the milk but nevermind.

For my SS+ meal today I had coley fish (microwaved in a steaming bag) but no veg as I have ran out, and I had my three shakes. But I was hungry later on so had some Jerk Fish using a small tsp of jerk sauce. (cooked in the same way.)
Tomorrow Morning I will weigh myself on my scales for the November Challenge.

I am back from a trip, I have been off the diet since Monday morning so i've had 3 full days off, back to it tomorrow!!
Got my shakes at the ready!!

Hi Miss-r, how are you? Hope you had a good trip. Good luck with starting again tomorrow. :)

Hi Tess I am fine thanks, the trip was to see my family.
I hoped I would do CD there but I got tempted and decided to restart on my return. Its day 2 of my Restart now. I hope its going well for you, good luck with your weigh in. xx

Well Day 1 is over.
Yesterday I had 3 shakes and a small pot (250g) of low fat cottage cheese with chives. Not sure if chives are ok but I didn't have any veg.

Last night I went to the supermarket, I didn't buy much but bought some skimmed milk. I am going to freeze it in cubes as I only need a bit at a time so I can have some cups of tea.
4 days until weigh in.

Day 3 of restart.
I just got up and weighed myself....15 stone 5 lbs on my scales.

It seems like I have been 15 stone something for ages but then I have been off CD more than once.
I am impatient for the weight to go down but then I have to remember I was off CD for 3 days earlier ths week and I haven't done everything as I should.
I have struggled with the water, had jerk seasoning on my quorn and had some skimmed milk yesterday. One good thing I did yesterday was go on my Wii Fit. I have been putting it off but I enjoyed it. The hardest thing was plugging the wii in and that wasn't hard.

Today I will do better with the water etc, I think i'l try having warm water. And if I have a cup of tea will make it really weak so only have to use a tiny bit of milk. I won't have my first pack yet.

Hi Miss-R, good luck with your restart. You are doing well, Hon. Don't give up! It's really a tough diet, but I felt the same as you when I was in the 15st's. I am now in the 14st and feel the same way! We will be slim in no time - just you wait and see. ;)
Hope you have a good evening, and I'll chat to you soon. x

aw thanks Tessie for your kind words of support, we will get there won't we!! xxx

It was going so well.. but Today I had 4 slices of bread and butter, a packet of crisps and a bowl of sultana bran.

I started the day with a shake, then we went out and I had a side salad at subway. It was not strictly CD as had things not on SS+. Anyway I felt quite happy as it tasted lovely and i've never been to subway and had just a salad before. I had olives and tomato and a bit of sauce etc but I felt pleased in a way that I didn't succumb to the subs.

Later on I had my next shake. It didn't seem enough.

Then an hour or 2 later, I made my SS+ meal but because of the salad at subway, I made less quorn and had a couple of button mushrooms.
I didn't like my meal much and left half of it.
I have tried to like Quorn Chicken Style pieces but I don't like them even if I smother them in sauce.
Then I spotted the bread and had some and it went from there..I feel a bit bad but I have been losing my enthusiasm a bit recently. I need to get myself back into it.
I am finding it a bit hard at the moment, especially getting all the water in and the shakes don't seem to be enough for me.

In future I need to have extra water with my shakes and remember to space them out every 3-4 hours. I have been having choc tetras mainly recently, I will start making the powder shakes again for a bit of variety. I will make them warm.

Anyway tomorrow will be better!!

Going to look at others diaries now.

I'm feeling more positive today.
I have got a selection of powder shakes out and put them on the side in the kitchen and will use a bigger cup and have them warm.
Not had my first shake yet. It is raining out so will have a nice warming shake in a bit.
Weigh in is tomorrow.

Hello miss-r, have been reading your diary and I understand your feeling of being tired with tetras etc... have you tried the porridge? I'm just saying I was wondering the same thing myself, coz i had a routine going and i was ggetting bored, so i decided to mix it up and try the choc tetras everyone always talks about... I'm just not convinced, I mean maybe it's because I don't have a bad sweet tooth to begin with, but I just can't drink more than 2 a day, so I reverted back to my old ways, just substitued my first meal with a tetra:
bkfst: tetra
lunch: veggie soup
snack porridge app&cin
dinner: porridge again
basically i go to bed feeling (mostly) satisfied, but also feeling like I'm still respecting feeding times (does that make any sense.?)

Hi em2
Thanks alot for your post, I have tried the porridge and should start having it again. I do like it but last time I had it I made it a bit wrong and it put me off a bit. I may have one later. Still trying to perfect the art of making it without lumps. How do you make it??

If you don't like the tetra maybe you could water it down with warm water????

I know what you mean, about respecting feeding times, I try and have the shakes spaced out. ps where abouts is palm tree land?? xxx
