MsRSimpkin's Inductions Diary

I've decided to pull my finger out and start writing my menus down again as I've become a bit laz recently and my weight loss has slowed down, so I need to find where I'm going wrong.

So far today I've had:

Breakfast
Coffee
(0)
1 Splenda (1)
30ml Alpro Hazelnut (1)

Lunch
Rump Steak
(0)
1 slice Leerdammer (0.1)
1c Cabbage (4)
1.5c Mushrooms (3)
1T KerryGold Garlic (0)
3T Double Cream (1)
35g Brie (0.1)

Total Carbs: 10.2g

Well done Mrs... It really helps to write it down xx

Morning Mrs,

what's that alpro stuff? and I wonder if you're cheese phobic like me, I had to virtually give it up for a long time on induction, it stalled me every time.

Hi Jim. It's a new milk substitute made from hazelnuts. I thought it'd make a nice change from my regular soya milk, especially because I really miss my hazelnut syrup in my Starbucks coffee! But to be honest, it's not really worth the extra carbs, the hazelnut flavour isn't very strong at all. I think I'll just stick to my regular unsweetened soya milk.

Cheese is one of things I'll be keeping my eye on, but I think my main problem is that I haven't been able to jump back into it 100% since I ate that pizza on Saturday. I'm trying, but I keep nibbling on illegal foods, thinking "Oh, a tiny bit won't hurt", but when it becomes 10 'tiny bits' throughout the day, that's when it becomes dangerous!

That's the downside of DH not being on Atkins too!

Morning, ah, it can be difficult once you're on the slippery slope love. You need to get your head in the right place.

Thanks Jim. I'm definitely back on track now! Had a good, Atkins-friendly weekend and I'm going to do a full week of "clean and green" with a couple days of meat and eggs only days chucked in before starting OWL next week.

The only down side... The local abattoir where I get my meat and veg is closed for the week and I've got none in. So it looks like I'm going to be spending a fortune in the supermarket!

I also weighed myself today for the first time since I started Atkins (I've mainly been judging by my clothes) and I was quite shocked as I thought I'd lost more than I actually have. I've dropped a whole jeans size (and they're getting a little loose on my too), and my stomach looks considerably flatter than before. So many friends and family members have commented on my weight loss too.

I've lost just over 10lbs, but compared to the 2 stone I lost on slimming world last year, I looks like I've lost so much than that! I know more than 2 stone is a lot to expect in the short time I've been doing Atkins, and I'm not disappointed by the 10lbs by any means of the word, I was just surprised.

It just goes to show how much the carbs I was eating on SW must have been bloating me!

hey hun and well done on the loss, i'd be over the moon to have lost 10lbs, ive always found your food diary interesting to read, it made me realise that i can do anything i put my mind to. well done x

Well done getting into smaller clothes - that's more useful than weight:)

10lbs is good, and I'm very proud. I'm more happy about loosing inches, though. But, I know from past experience that weight loss isn't always in correlation with inch loss!

Morning Mrs, I agree about the inches as well, great news on the 10lb as well :)

Thanks guys! This meat and eggs "fast" isn't actually as boring as I was expecting. Although I am kinda craving cabbage! Haha. I'm going to try it for it a week and then go onto OWL, but maybe stick to 20g carbs or less, and just add another food type. Because it could affect my weight loss going from like 5g carbs per day to 25g.

Morning Mrs... Hope you continue in a downward spiral lol xx

morning, I never tried the M&E fast, doesn't it erm..... block you up?

Well done on the weightloss, 10lbs in fantastic! Meat and eggs sounds hardcore but I think it's a good "stall tool" (almost rhymes) lol

Keep up the good work!!

Thanks guys! :)

Jim, I guess it could affect some people in that way, but I guess I'm lucky that it hasn't with me. Sorry if this is TMI, but I'm pretty regular anyway, so the only difference it's made is that I don't go quite as often as usual. But that could also be because I find I'm rarely hungry, so I'm eating a lot less.

I definitely don't think it's something you could do for longer than a week, and vitamin/ mineral supplements are necessary, but it's great for kick starting weight loss!

"Stall Tool"... I like it! Hehe

Morning Mrs, oh well lucky you then :)

Okay. So, I messed up and went off-plan. For far, far too long! And put back on all the weight I originally lost! I was going through a tough time, but my head is in a better place now and I've given myself a kick up the back side to start eating properly again. I started Atkins again exactly a week ago and decided I need to start my diary again to help keep me on track. It definitely helps!

I haven't kept track of the first 7 days, but I have a few photos of some of my meals.
