Hiya, I only started SW yesterday.
It is a little confusing at times, and I am worried I am getting things wrong.
I will post what I THINK my syns etc are and will be greatful of any feedback!!

Also, because I have enrolled at 2/3 gym classes a week @ 4.20 a go, I can't actually afford to go the classes, and am using an oldish book that my mum gave me. So could use both encouragment (that I will miss out on by not going classes) and updates on new/changed SYN values. I hope that is ok and not too cheeky for me to ask on my first post :)

Also, tomorrow, me and my fella are taking his nephew to maccies for his birthday. So as not to be tempted, I am having tea before I set off. Thing is, having the fab fella that I have, he has made me pasta, with mushrooms, onions...but also added jar of tomato sauce rather than using fresh. I feel awful to tell him I can't eat it. So bearing in mind I wont be eating the FULL jar, how many syns am I looking at for that? I am having a green day, so pasta will be free. Thanks in advance for reading my 1st post!! :) xx

Added a few comments below. In general I think you have the gist of it but you should try and have more syns. There wasn't a lot of fruit and veg action on day one and you could have had some carbs with your evening meal as well.

As for your jar of pasta sauce it would depend on the brand? Some can be quite high as they have olive oil in them.

Circles, RE the laughing cows. There is no way I could eat 5 haha. Could I maybe have had a little extra milk had I neeeded it, or does it not work like that?

The pasta sauce tonight is Morrisons own tomato & garlic. Either way, I am sure it will be better than a maccies so I wont beat myself up too much!! hehe.

I realise I am not having many Syns, I guess with me just starting, I feel guilty for having treats, I know that sounds daft :(

As for the spud, yes I ate the skin, its the best bit, yum :) xx

You're not supposed to split your HEs unfortunately. Instead of laughing cow why not have some proper cheese? You can have 28g of full-fat cheese and 42g of reduced-fat. Or have even more and use some of your syns!

For you pasta sauce it might be one of these

I have laughing cow as I tend to have it for brekkie @ work. I don't really have the apparatus at work to melt proper cheese on my toast so have them for convenience really!!! But I will deffo use proper cheese @ weekends!!

On a plus note....having the lovely supportive bloke I do...he re-made my pasta lastnight for me with tinned toms rather than a jar of sauce.

Doin good hon keep it up

Just a few points dunno if i am right or not but think so.

The laughing cows 5 = HE but if you dont use all 5 you need to syn it each one = .5 of a syn, you dont need to have them all at once but can spread the 5 throughout the day.
Milk if you are using semi skimmed 250ml skimmed 350ml but again you need to use the full ammount for it to be a HE
Eve makes all of her sauces from scratch and makes them syn free.

There are LOADS of great recipies on the site and pretty much all of them are delish.

I have heard that McD's is doin a chicken salad type dish that is low syn valued..
Maybe someone could clarify this for you so you would be able to join them at McD's..

Today is the beginning of week 3. And I have lost 5lb. So that's 11lb in 2 weeks :)

I think I could have lost more if I had eaten more on Saturday, I was very busy though and didnt have dinner, or HexBs :cry:

But a loss is a loss and I will learn from my mistake and plan my days and meals better!!
