Ninja's diary - fasting and running to lose 50lbs

Brilliant news on the weigh in, good for you! I did the Belfast marathon a few years ago. Be VERY sure you want to :) Yes, I change my days around as required. I normally do every other day but if something is coming up, like this week, I change. I had a DD yesterday but I need tomorrow to be an UD as a friend is coming to visit from Germany so today will be an in between, maybe coming in about 1000 so I can have my UD as needed. I did 2 DDs in a row for a while to change the days around but it doesn't do you any favours.

Ooh well done on the Belfast marathon. I've done London before and I did Paris last year so know what I'm getting in to, although I doubt I'll make it through the ballot system.

UD today and I didn't calorie count, but I didn't go mad either. Although my buffet lunch wasnt terribly healthy. And I accidentally did my long run! Which surprised me because I did a DD yesterday but had no problems running today. I guess it helped that it was later in the day after a good feed!

B - 1/2 bowl porridge (really wasn't hungry!) And a soya latte
S - strawberry high protein drink
L - 9" baguette with coronation chicken, 2 mini sausage rolls, crisps, grapes, choc mini roll
S - pre run 3 dates, 1/2 banana, skinny latte
D - chilli con carne & rice, strawberries, small amount of easter egg

So lots of food, no idea on calories but apart from lunch didn't go too mad

Exercise: 7.3 mile run, mostly cross country so v slow

I found it tough exercising this morning (day after fast!)...couldn't face running so I did 10 min boot camp legs & 10 min boot camp abs.

First UD at work (DDs are much easier...don't eat, done ;)

AM Resistance training - 10 min legs boot camp, 10 min abs boot camp

B -scrambled egg wrap, soya latte, bite of a banana

S - 6 squares of chocolate

L - 2 wraps with smoked salmon, rocket and avocado

S - giant pretzel

Exercise: 3.5 mile run

T - left over chilli on a bed of cabbage, grated cheese (because it was such a high carb day I decided to forgo the jacket spud!)
40g Cadbury easter egg....nom nom

I did count cals today because I really had no idea how much I'd eaten!

Turned out to be 2200 cals, which is actually more or less my tdee, and I did quite a bit of exercise too.

Finding it very hard to relax around food...not sure if this is a good thing, I mean, it does help me make healthier choices (some of the time!)

My first gain! Up 1.5lb on yesterday but I'm not worried. Still got one more DD to go. I'm going to change official weigh in to sat or sun am (deoending on which falls after a DD) as it rounds off the week better.

Plan for today
B - scone & skinny latte
S - apple & cheese
L - ???
S - protein shake
T - something yummy

Oh dear, my plans a bit vague!

I'm not sure when to weigh in, I started Monday so u was thinking of weighing on Tuesday after Mondays fast

Urghhhh I've been naughty today. Not one fruit or veg and I had a McDonald's for tea followed by Häagen Dazs. Total cals for the day....3300!!!! Shocking!

Thank god for a fast day tomorrow. I'm trying to justify it to myself by saying, 3300 + 500 over 2 days averages out at 1900 a day, which still means I shouldn't put on weight...but let's face it, the food was totally unhealthy and I know if I plan better, I eat better and enjoy it more. So no more UDs at work where I haven't planned. Coz it'll end in feeling rubbish.

On the plus side I ran 3.5 miles this eve, even though my butt aches from my legs workout yesterday...

Up again...oops! But not my highest this week and I'm a bit surprised by that after the junk I ate yesterday!

Oh you do not want to know! It was not pretty and ended in a binge. I am ashamed of myself and I know why it happened. The more cr*p I eat on an up day, the harder the down day.

But, the great thing about this diet is it's easy to wipe the slate...so down day today instead, and so far so good (water & black coffee)
