well ive had a messed up week, although ive been doing S/W for 2 years and lost 2 stone plus 1 stone with WW,i hit very hard times with money in the last month, with snow etc,we ended up with little food in the house and no way of getting to any,so obviously kids ate well and me and hubby sort of stretched what we could,no fruit in the house.i went out for 2 planned meals(which i paid for prior to skint) and long short is i gained 3lb.ive been out and got enough supplies on my budget,i try to mix the plans as i work nights,so find green and red good and then extra easy to make a change.im determined to lose this next week..any ideas of budget cooking and desserts as i do have a sweet tooth please would b gratefully received:wave_cry:

Hello :)

Firstly I would say don't panic !! When money is tight is always seems that the junk food is always on offer and will be cheaper but if you eat that your undoing Ur hard work. I'd just recommend getting in staple stuff buy a huge sack of potatoes that'll be cheaper maybe some eggs for sw chips and egg. Frozen fruit is lovely and works out much cheaper than buying fresh. Maybe go to a greengrocers for fruit and veg rather than the bug stores who rip people off .

hi poptart try not to worry about the gain it will soon come off again i know it's a pain when there isn't much money and u haven't got the right foods in. as evans
048 says get sack pots can do lots cheap meals with them. i do a dinner where u slice pots and onions put on to boil, cook till going slightly soft then layer a tin or pyrex dish with the pot and onion and bacon pour the potato water over the top and put in the oven for an hour until top pots are brown ( add salt and pepper to ur taste) u can use sausages instead of bacon but cook off fat from them first. and for pudding make a s/w rice pudding if u like it, good luck to u on ur next weigh in :)

I'd go to the market and get loads of veg and cook up some different soups. Speed soup is really easy and I love pea and ham with extra veg in to bulk it out. Veg curries are easy to make and freeze well - although they're always hotter when they're defrosted! :p desserts are harder for me because I'm not really bothered about them but I did make a rice and cous cous concoction that can be served with fruit and yogurt (I had it for breakfasts!) :D
