O/T Need to rant please.

I want to be fitter again
Well I am feeling really peeved at the moment. It is my niece's wedding on Saturday and I believe I am the only singleton there. I am really miffed to find she has put my daughter and her boyfriend on a different table to me. No one else has been split from their immediate family. I am sitting with my brother and sister in law who always tells me what to do and how to do it. An elderly gentleman and his son, and my nephew and his girlfriend and I haven't seen him for 12 years. She knows my daughter has panic attacks but my neice felt she would have more fun with some 20 somethings. WHAT ABOUT ME !!!!!
Thank you for listening Rant over . . now crying xx

some people just dont think

This happened to me and my sister at a wedding, like you we knew before hand. So, on the day we got into the reception room and swapped the place settings.

We kept a couple together and put ourselves with people we knew

As squddie says try speaking to her and explain the situation with your daughter.

I hope you get it sorted

Thanks you two girls. i have tried talking to my sister and said it's impossible to make everyone happy and it's because I am single it's hard to fit me in!!!! Great ,thanks for reminding me xx

I want to be fitter again
Thanks all I have taken the plunge and email my niece admitting my sadness from being split from my family when no one else will be split from theirs.xx
Hope you get this sorted hun. I have been to a couple of weddings where my OH has been best man so I have been sat on a table with people that I have hardly known. As someone else said if you dont get a response from your niece just be cheeky on the day and see if someone is prepared to swap with you, so you can sit with your daughter. xx

I will succeed!!!
I hope this is sorted out - it seems sad to be sat apart from those you are closest too at a wedding.

I'm trying to finalise my guest list and seating plans are going to be hard for me - because I want to group people accordingly to avoid this. So thanks for making your point as a guest - it will make me more determined to make sure I get it right!

Hope she is helpful and all the best xx

Nojo on the YoYo
At my brother's wedding I was sat away from my family. I was with my OH but sat on a table with all the bridesmaids (who I don't know) and their boyfriends. It made me feel really uncomfortable, and it was quite annoying as a couple of people they'd put with my family group didn't even come, but we were too polite to switch seats.

But Rosie hun, it's only one day, you're lovely and sweet and chatty, I am sure you will find something interesting to talk to the people you are sat with about. And as for your sister in law - write off some syns, have a couple of glasses of plonk and tell her to button it! ;)

Love to you honey xxx
If you have to sit where you are put, then just make the most of it. I'm sure after the meal everyone will move and circulate anyway and you can move by your daughter. As has already been said, some people just don't think about others and their problems.

You guys are on here are truly amazing. Without your support i may have well crumbled today. My sister has just emailed me and said they have now managed to rearrange the tables and I can sit with my daughter. What I hadn't said before is that I have a swallowing disorder which my daughter copes with amazingly well and is able to tell others not to panic if it goes into spasm. I guess i was feeling scared and lonely. if I could, i would hug everyone of you (X) (X)
