On my Atkins journey

LOL yes I do, morning Silver :)

Been pretty good today even if I say so myself. :innocent0002:

B - crab and mushroom omelette from the Atkins cookery book without the mushrooms as I had run out and without the sherry as I didn't have any - I'm not bloody Emily Nugent. :p

S - SMALL packet of Mr Porkys

L - well I was going out for a coffee with a gf to Costa and I was sooo worried about cakes and sarnies!! So I had 3 pieces salami wrapped around a tsp of Philly before I went out, popped into Boots and got an Atkins choc bar and at Costa got a soya milk latte ( am I allowed to have this much soya milk?, that's twice this week)

D - OMG you should smell what's just finished bubbling up in the oven (see pic), Moussaka from the recipe book with some variations of my own. Well you remember that pork, bacon, mushroom and cabbage thingie I made on Sunday night well I have been having some here and there but I didn't really like the pork part, much too porky :p, so tonight I picked all the pork out, I had about a third of a dish left of bacon, cabbage and mushrooms so mixed it in with the mince for the Moussaka and oh I have to tell you it is delicious, in the recipe which is NOT for Induction it tells you to add passata, so I just added 2 small salad tomatoes to liven things up and cut down on the onion. Quite a big dish so I will probably get 5-6 servings.

No coffee with cream today and no MiM's.

Oh what a goodie two shoes I am.

Hi silver, love the sound of your ginger mim cake - must have a try sometime:D

DH and i usually have half a chinese duck when we order takeaway.

I have duck, cucumber, spring onion and mayo
Dh has same but a bit of the hoisin sauce
DD has pancakes, duck and fortune cookies

And so they licked the platter clean:D

Keep up the great food piccies!

Hi silver... Great piccie!

I find that my local Costa coffee with soya is too sweet so don't have one there... Other places are better I think xx

Oh you are being very good ;) well done love xx

Morning Silver, good day then and yum at the food porn piccies :)

Another good day, but damn I feel soooo bloated, what's that all about?

Brekkie - Moussaka

Lunch - Olive, garlic and cheese bread (MiM's :D) spread with butter

Snack - Small packet of Mr Porkys and cup of coffee with cream and Splenda

Later on snack - 1 mini ff babybel

Dinner - Lamb chops with Cauli Mash and thick yummy gravy.

Is there anything here that could be making me feel the bloat? Can't be TOM as I way too old for that! ;)

Silver, d'you fancy moving in with me and being my personal chef? Your food sounds delish!

Don't know about the bloating though. Very odd!

Silver I'm all bloated too! It's like something is gonna blow! Eek!

Me too with the bloating. Ugh!

Loving your thread, recipes and food porn btw. In fact loving this whole section of Minimins. So good to find a HAPPY place where enjoying your food is OK!! :)

I think I might try and eat spinach or cabbage every day for a week to see if this will help and maybe cut down on the cheese..........

Don't really like spinach though I do like cabbage, is either more Atkins preferable?

Here's last night's dinner, lamb chops, cauli mash and gravy, do you think this is too much cauli???

You need to get some leafy greens in to get full benefits really so cabbage, altho nice, isnt really enough. If you dont like spinach then try leafy greens like kale. Or cook differently

If you look at marksdailyapple blog the a fairly recent post about the different sorts of veg and why they are good for you. Here is the one on leafy greens http://www.marksdailyapple.com/why-you-should-eat-leafy-greens/#more-26527

Thank you I will look into this, I don't think I have ever had kale before!!! I usually buy just normal cabbage or spring greens which I really like. I must get more adventurous in the kitchen (and drink more water too!!).

That looks like a heap of cauli love! Wow! To me anyway.

You have to go get spring greens, if you like cabbage you'll love them, not like spinach and so yummy .....I must get more, miss mine.

Xxx

can't say i like spinach ,it makes my teeth feel funny.

Ok.... lol!

I like it but I always get paranoid that there is some stuck in my teeth! :D , can you see it?
