Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

I bought mainly 0-3 and Cole was 7lb 12oz born. None of the 0-3 fit him and, to be honest, a lot of newborn stuff didn't. We actually had to buy him some tiny baby clothes for the first two weeks. So I'd have a couple of nb things to be on the safe side x

Yes thank you its hard as they need to be washed ready so ant take them all back ha ha ! There is a tesco near me and not far from the town so i suppose i just need enough for the first week and then I'm sure il be ready to get out the house and buy the sizes i need! I just feel unorganised not having everything / anything!
Yeh main thing is you've got some in your hospital bag for baby, then once baby arrives, you can send mum/MIL/partner out to buy exact sizes.
I live 5 mins walk from a Tesco so I've got no excuses for over buying now!!

I have a really blizzare question or tmi question my lady bits feel different sensation wise like a weird pressure? When I wee it feels strange ? Has anybody had this I'm 20 +6 days I've no
Pain or weird smells so first feel like an infection it just feels different ??

Hi ladies. Sorry been AWOL - phone is slowing dying on me!! Quick question to those who have had episiotomies - Does yr scar hurt/ache?? Mine feels like I need to nip it to release some tension/pain... A couple of weeks ago (4-5) I found a huge spot at the top of the scar which I popped and it stank! I told the nurse and she asked me to keep an eye in it but I think it was just coincidence Anyway - anyone else aching?? Xx

I'd love to help but my episiotomy scar was the only part of pregnancy, labour and birth that actually went right!! I've not had any problems with mine (can't even tell I had one) so I can't help :( Susie might be able to when she fixes her phone and gets back online xx

Is it swollen? It never happened to me but a few people on here said their lady bits swelled up. My sister is 27 weeks and about 2-3 weeks ago hers swelled up and it did when she was pregnant with my nephew too. If it's not painful/itchy/smelly etc then I'd say it's not an infection (obvs I'm not a medical person!) but if you're worried speak to your doctor?

It really depends on the baby Tink... I know that's not much help... But Éabha is 8 weeks on Monday and still wearing Newborn.. Whereas Penny's little man is only a teeny bit older and in 3-6 months already (think that's what I read at silly o'clock this morning)... Also, I get away 1 babygro a day as Éabha doesn't spit up/get sick very often.. Whereas another baby might go through 2 or 3 changes per day... I think to be safe.. have at least 2 changes per day for a week... So say 14 each (sleepsuits and vests) to start with... That way you're covered.. but not stuck with loads of bits you won't use...
I found Tesco NB size the best.. But Éabha was only small (6lb 14oz) born... She's filling Pennys (Primark) NB size now at almost 9lb

I find Aldi nappies every bit as good as Pampers and cost half the price...
Also, Boots NB nappies are great.. They seem slightly smaller than Aldi, Pampers and Lidl NB nappies, although they all say they cover the same weight!!! So I'd definitely recommend having a couple packs of them to start/for hospital

Cai hun.. Sorry.. Can't help as I didn't have an Epis... x

I'm a nurse I'm confident it's not infection maybe it's swelling a little it doesn't look swollen maybe it's just inside lol. I've just done my Pilates session I'm shattered and I have to go back for another boob measurement I feel like they are growing again it's scary I'm already 42g since last measure ?

Crikey. Mine got harder but never actually grew. Was gutted, I'm only a b-c cup :/ haha

Mine grew very quickly- I'm currently a 36C and I started as a 34B!!!

As for lady parts, mine have swelled up but like the others have said, if it's not painful/smelly/itchy it's prob nothing to worry about.
As always, speak to doc if you are worried x

I treated myself to this t-shirt a few days ago and I had to share a pic, as it's just such an appropriate t-shirt for this stage of my pregnancy:

Hi ladies.

Sorry been AWOL - phone is slowing dying on me!!

Quick question to those who have had episiotomies -

Does yr scar hurt/ache??
Mine feels like I need to nip it to release some tension/pain...

A couple of weeks ago (4-5) I found a huge spot at the top of the scar which I popped and it stank! I told the nurse and she asked me to keep an eye in it but I think it was just coincidence

Anyway - anyone else aching?? Xx

Yeah mine did. Felt bruised almost? But since I had my op it's been fine as the scar has gone. My consultant did say to massage it with bio oil but haven't as yet
maybe that would help?

Wish I could help Cai, but apart from the initial discomfort/walking like I had shat myself, my epis wound/scar has been fine. Cant feel anything now and dtd has been resumed with no issues. Maybe see gp? I know you had problems with having to be re-stitched etc so maybe get them to take a look for peace of mind xxx
