Bonjela seems to be working... That and the teether toys... But he's really grumpy, poor little boy x

Also is it 'normal' to not be interested in their milk when teething?
He's had 9oz today and has prob brought up an oz or two.. Doesn't seem interested... Will take water tho...

Should add that by now he would normally have had 21oz and about to have another 7 x

Oliver sometimes does. I guess the sucking hurts them. Try not worry. Just keep offering him milk or water and hopefully he will be ok. Not fun seeing our little ones under the weather x

We've found the baby Nurofen good too. He's currently sat on the settee with about 4 fridge teethers shouting and bawling at me so they must be working ;) xx

Thanks ladies :)

I'm pleased to report that Oliver took a full 7oz bottle at 8pm, we gave him baby Nurofen just before that as he was obv in pain and after bottle, daddy cuddles and a bath, he went to bed at 9:50 and slept until 6:30!!!
That's 2 nights in a row!!
He then took a full 7oz bottle at 6:30 this morning and is now having a nap.

If he continues draining his bottles, then it'll be time to up them to 8oz!!
And hopefully he'll continue with the sleeping through the night...
My boy is growing up too fast! X

Advise ladies, how long do these growth spurts actually last? Mia has drunk 30oz since 8 this morning, that's not even 12 hrs. Roughly 5oz every 2 hrs, sometimes bringing a bit back up. she has the odd day going 3 hrs but not many. I just think she is drinking way too much. is hungry baby milk thAt bad? She will be 8 wk's on wed xx

I think hungry baby milk is each to their own. I found it brilliant and swear by it, Cole never struggled with constipation and it made a huge difference. But for every person who likes it there'll probably be another who doesn't. Maybe try it? I introduced one bottle a day, not the first or last, just a mid morning one, to see how he went. Once that was ok a few days later I swapped another bottle and did that every few days until all his feeds were HB. X

What age did u start the change? U prob told me in another reply ( sorry if u have) . I was also thinking of introducing the odd bottle n see how she went on. I changed her milk from aptimal to hipp organic as she was only doing one poo a day n seemed to strain all day. Since champing the milk she does 3 poo's a day and no straining. she's also on colief drops for her colic which do help. I'm kind of reluctant to talk to the health visitor about the milk because I know they try n put you off. Xx

I still tell my HV Cole is on the first stage milk ;)

We swapped him after we got married so probably about 10-12 weeks ish. I also started giving him bits of water to drink too, no more then maybe half an ounce to an ounce a day to start with, just so he didn't get constipated. X

Lol I'll prob do the same, can't be doing with a lecture!

Well I might wait till wed when she is 8 weeks n see if it's down to a growth spurt, seems to have gone on quite a bit tho. xx

I remember my HV being really negative about HB milk.. But I've got a friend who put her little girl on it at 10 weeks old and it's done wonders for her.
But my friend hasn't told her HV yet lol x

yes my first health visitor was really against it when I saw her before I had Mia. my health visitor has changed now but no doubt she will think the same. I suppose all babies are different, will see how she gets on. Xx

I personally don't like hungry baby milk and if you do have a go I would make sure you give extra water as it can make them Constipated and damage their kidneys as they do not absorb as much water from it. Ben was really poorly when we tried it but each is different as Sarah says xx

Wow no none prepares you for the first few weeks of motherhood I feel like I'm on a roller coaster. Breastfeeding is going well but it's every 1.5-2hrs sometimes 3 and sleep what's that again hahha I love it but boy it's tough. I never realised how opinionated people could be either haha x
