Mix together the quark, sweetner to taste, and a vanilla muller light yoghurt
Add a sachet of gelatine to the mixture (make sure when you add it you keep whisking the quark mix, otherwise you will get lumps)
Beat 1 egg white until soft peaks and fold it to the whole mix
Either serve in individual ramekins, or in a large bowl
Place in the fridge for at least 4 hours
If leaving in dish – decorate with fruit and sprig of mint or gently – warming the bowl(s) first, gently put a plate on top of the dish and turn out upside down. Decorate and serve

Have just tried the cabonara and its gorgeous. My two toddlers are loving it
The test will be my other half when he gets home as hes not a pasta fan but will definitely be making this again!

Is it true you can freeze it and bulk buy?

I make similar using Sugarfree Jelly + FatFre Natural Yogurt
Make jelly per instructions on pk, allow to cool then whisk in yogurt
put in fridge to set
Syn value jelly only (I thought 2 syns but I see on this thread 1.5) must check

Sugar free jelly went from 2 syns down to 1.5 in the new book released at Christmas.

6 syn black forest roulade 1 syn per portion

For the cake
5 large eggs
40g reduced fat cocoa (tesco’s is 6 syns) if you use diff cocoa the syns may be more
6 heaped dessertspoons of sweetener
for the filling
a few good handfuls of frozen cherries
2 dessertspoons of sweetener
1x 0%fat activea cherry yog (do not use a muller as its too runny)
½ a tub of quark

set oven to 150 c

separate 4 of the eggs and whisk up the egg whites to stiff peaks
in another bowl whisk the yolks with 6 desertspoons of sweetener until pale add the 40g of cocoa and the remaining whole egg and whisk until smooth and creamy

slowly fold in the egg whites to the choc mix until incorporated

pour into a small lined roulade tin and bake in the oven for approx 20 min (until springy to touch

remove from oven and cover with a tea towel so it doesn’t dry out (makes it easier to roll)

mix yog and quark with remaining sweetener

ok for the cake building you can either half the sponge and fill like a Victoria sponge or be adventurous and attempt rolling it

spread the sponge with yog sprinkle on the cherries and roll using the tea towel to help you

enjoy

and don’t worry if the lot accidently gets eaten “its only 6 syns”

The nicest thing I do with it is carbonara

1 pot quark
3 egg yolks pepper to season
Spaghetti or pasta
Ham or bacon
Garlic
Chilli flakes
Mushrooms
Red Onion
Peas
Cabbage
Or any veg you want

Put pasta on to boil,
Cook bacon/ ham with garlic and chilli flakes and all the veg,
Mix quark with egg yolks and pepper
Once pasta cooked mix it all together with quark & egg mixture and enjoy
This is my hubbys fav meal at the moment

This sounds like a nice recipe, I am going to give it a go - the only problem I get with quark is that it sometimes splits! Think it is because I am doing it at a too high heat though!

I'm a recent convert to Quark :)

My favourites are:

a simple topping for fruit etc when mixed with sweetener
Mixed with lime juice and sweetener for a kind of key lime thing
mixed with small amount of blue cheese (synned) and felt a few hours for the taste to take on, use as a pasta sauce, or a dip for veggie sticks, or as a stuffing for chicken breasts, or slacken with some milk and heat through gently for a lovely sauce for pork chops or something
Mixed with marmite to spread on toast or crispbreads :)

Mmm, I just tried Quark for the first time and I liked it!! I boiled pasta, added frozen peas and chopped up ham, once cooked stirred in some quark and it tastes fab!! Definitely want to try out some more quark recipes!
