Ratios of carbs/fats/proteins???

Just wondered if we had any technical/sciency people that would be able to answer this for me...

What is the best ratio of carbs, fats and proteins to have when you are wanting to lose weight?

My fitness pal is set up as follows:

55% carbs
30% fats
15% protein

Do you think this is the ultimate breakdown!!?

I'm just not sure and wondered if anyone could explain the reasons for this particular breakdown?

I would have though higher protein would have been better??

Thanks Sarah I've decided to go for 40% carbs, 30% fat and 30% protein and changed myfitness pal to suit that . Going to try and restrict carbs and not too many after lunch! Xx
