Returning for the last time-7 stone to lose

    I do not want to be a serial dieter for the rest of my life. I have attempted to do vlcds before, 2 weeks being the longest I have lasted. What makes this time different you may ask? Well, the fact that I am 37, 5'8 and weigh 18 stone 10 and a quarter pounds. That is the heaviest I have ever been!

    I am tired. Tired of saying I will start tomorrow. Tired of promising myself and my family that I will stick to a diet. Tired of looking at/ buying clothes in smaller sizes and hoping one day I will fit in them. Tired of starting a diet and then acting like I will die if I do not have a piece of chocolate or crisp or anything that Im not suppose to have. I tired of complaining about my weight. Tired of hiding in clothes I can not stand. Tired of making excuses why I wont go out because I feel uncomfortable in my own skin. I am just plain tired of carrying this extra weight.

    So, I am giving slim and save all I have got for the next 22 weeks. I have booked a holiday with my best friend (first girlie holiday) and hope to lose 6-7 stone- is this possible???I do not want to be fat any more. I want my life back!

    I am going to post on this thread daily to track my progress. I shall weigh monthly. Previous experience has shown me that I get disheartened by small loses.

    Today is day 1. I am taking it hour by hour, then day by day. I want this more than anyone knows, so I am committing to 4 shakes per day no extra anything. Apart from green tea and 3-4 litres of water.

    I would love to hear some success stories from big loses.

    hi, I so could have written that myself! I'm on day two today and have about the same weight to loose! yes you can loose that amount in that time, I would think about 6 stone would be about the amount if you stick to it. I am also only having the packs, that way I don't have to think about it or make any choices about food so no chance of making the wrong ones lol. I hope your day goes well.x

    Hi Emilyj, so far so good. I am just going to boil the kettle for my second shake (I like them warm). Well done you for reaching day 2! Small steps to future success. I have had 1 litre of water so far, 3 more to go! X

    Its so encouraging to see such determination from you all. I have around 5 stone (ideally) to lose and will be starting my journey on monday. Im currently attending a WW group but just not seeing the results like others for some reason. Want the hassle free grab and go shakes ! No planning, no weighing and no measuring hehe. Its so difficult to keep going but have to keep thinking why im doing this and want that feel good factor back in my life. Hope you guys are all getting on well! We have to fight "Rasputia" together (for those who have watched the movie Norbit!) Good luck!!!!

    Hi chick. well I'm just on day 8 so for my first week weigh in. Lost 13lbs . My start weight was 18st9 so very similar to you. That's a success to me .keep going

    your all tall! my starting weight is 254.5lbs and want to get 8 stone off but im only 5ft 2 and even that is if I stand REALLY straight lol, just got back from a kids birthday party and god it was hard but stuck to my bar yay, now drinking as Im struggling a little but still determined.x

    Omg you could have written that post about me! I so totally relate Hun! The main thing is though you are here. Making a change and fighting back. With that mindset you can achieve anything you put your mind into!

    Wow this is me except I'm only 5'5" but i started yesterday weighed myself and I'm 18st 10 so exactly the same, i did Cambridge last year lost 5st in 4 months thought i could do it myself buggered it all up and back again, my holiday is in august and just for once i don't want to be the fat one hidden under baggy tops and saggy shorts and sweating like i don't know what I want to be able to go holiday clothes shopping and buy nice clothes not bleedin tents this will be our year ladies we can all do it I'm on day 2 so far so good :) good luck to you all in your journeys lets make 2014 our slim year

    WOOOW...13lbs in a week!!:happy096: way to go ww_horror, that is truly inspiring. You are giving me hope :)!!! Ladies we can do this, it looks like we all have similar stats. The fact that we now have technology at our finger tips (mobile phones) means that we can always come on here to help and encourage each other. No more saying "I messed up and I will start tomorrow"!! No more excuses!!! No cheating or breaking for 'that one occasion'. This has to be the last time, plus this stuff costs a lot of money and I don't know about you, but I plan on doing loads of clothes shopping when I get to my goal, so I really can not afford to waste products because "I will die if I do not get to taste pizza for 6 months, or drink a glass of wine, or have just that one chip". Just think if you do you how you will feel....is it worth it??

    We can do this...please keep this thread going. you are helping me to help myself and to help you! It is only my first day, it has been ok so far. I have had 3 shakes and 2.5 litres of water so far. I would like to have 4 litres by the end of the day if possible. :innocent0001:

    Can't believe tomorrow is already going to be the 4th of January, see before you know it the sun will be shining again and we will not be able to hide under the layers. So lets do this, imagine how we are going to feel when we can wear what we want and have the confidence to go any where with our heads held high knowing that we achieved what at one stage we thought was impossible!!:superwoman:

    You did write this about me, didn't you?

    I'm 5' 10" and I weighed in yesterday at 254.6lbs. I like to weigh in pounds because in my head it sounds better than stones, mainly because I cant work out how many stones it is without getting a calculator! But I do know its over 18 stone, which makes me so angry with myself that I've eaten myself to that weight.

    I'm on day 2, and moping, but I know I'll get over it. I'm thinking thin.


    Remember:

    We are not dogs. We will not reward ourselves with food.

    Im loving the inspiration i got a little piggy money bank in my secret santa so i have just spent the last half hour painting it and on the side i have wrote £1 for 1lb and thats what im gonna do every week on weigh in whatever i lose in pounds goes in my piggy bank so when i lose all this weight i will hVe loads of money for clothes shopping :)

    Thats such a good idea to keep a bank £1 per lb! Im the same and like to measure in lbs not stones; strange how psychologically it makes you feel better to see the lbs drop off! Do you guys find it easier when youre at work or home to get through your day?

    personally at work cos when im at home the fridge is there with all the kids chocs and crisps and temptation is all around

    6 stone will be possible if you stick to it, remembering that you will naturally gain 7Ibs when you introduce carbs (weight due to water etc not fat or inches) that's why you should aim 1/2 stone under your goal weight.

    Dogs we are not!! maybe sexy kittens :8855: Loving this thread, some brilliant ideas. I think I will do the £ for lb saving jar as well, but it will be monthly as I am only going to weigh once per month. Something in my waters tells me that we will all be ok, as long as we keep posting and taking it hour by hour and day by day. I am back at uni next week, so that will be interesting I will just stick with the same times (8, 1, 5, 9) but have a bar with some green tea for lunch. So far so good, I have had all 4 shakes today and nearly finished my 4th litre of water.

    Spoke to my friend whom I'm going on holiday with tonight, she doesn't know what diet I'm doing but is aware that I am on a mission. We were talking about what we would like to pack, I'm quietly optimistic that I might actually have a good time. I might even be able to wear a proper bikini! lol

    Good luck for tomorrow girls, keep posting and letting us know how you are getting on. we can do this!!x

    You can do it - cos you know You lost 5 sone in 4 months! That's brilliant and just shows what we can all do if we stick to the plan! I lost 3 and a half stone before on a vlcd and have slowly gained it all back plus another stone! So here's a restart for me too!

    ok I HATE DAY 3, the demons in my head always start messing with me today! I know that if I can get through today and tomorrow I will be fine But I am already finding it hard and its only 8.30 am lol. I hope you all have a good day today.

    Treat day 3 like day 1! Trick your mind into thinking you're not struggling just yet. Day 1 is always easy and you can make day 3 the same! I'm on day 7 and like you I dreaded the third day. Guess what. I survived and each day after that got easier and easier. Get yourself through the first by having a positive attitude and after that it'll become easier and easier.
    And remember. No one is forcing you to do it. This plan is not a jail sentence. It's a decision you made to make a positive change in your life.
    Think how you'd feel if you caved in.
    On the other hand the sense of satisfaction you'll feel when you complete your first week is unbeatable!
    You can do this! :)
