Seafood Lasagna

Seafood Lasagna:
Quite fishy and dill tasting - I'll do a "meaty" one another time..

Tomato sauce -
400g prawns - chop finely
1 large red onion
500g tomatoes
2 cloves garlic
100g black olives
8 mini gherkins
1 tablespoon of capers
balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon of tomato puree

White sauce -
1/3 pint of milk
200g mascarpone cheese (light)
1 tablespoons of chopped fresh dill
1/2 grated lemon zest
1 small red onion

Wakame as replacement for pasta - 4 layers thick.

Layer tomato sauce, wakame then white sauce (all x 2) and top with very thinly sliced onion and a bit of paprika.

White sauce is a bit thin - going to try xanthum gum next time as a thickener.


1/4 of this is about 250 calories and 12g carbs I think.

let me know what you think - also whether this conforms to WS or not.

Hmmm I was very careful when I put this together, and I didn't seem to come out of ketosis (after eating most of this over 3 days!)

Saying that, I'll check online now - here's the amount of carbs (in one portion):

125g tomatoes = 5g
0.25 large onion = 4g
25g black olives = 1g
gherkins and capers together = maybe 1g
milk = 2.5g

so 13.5g.

Exante products have about 20-23g in so even adding a bit more for things I've missed (like lemon, dill, garlic) you should be well within a safe amount. The wakame is great because it has next to nothing in it.

I had it with spinach and felt like a decent sized meal.

Whats wakame??? and where do i get it.
Im like you Froom, Im eating a well balanced meal insetad of my 3rd replacement meal. Ive just adapted the diet to my needs and it seems to be working.I geuss im not loosing weight quickly now but im still loosing, I lost 2 lb this week and its the TOTM x

It's a flat seaweed I get from healthfood shops (comes dried in packets of 50g). Very low in calories and carbs.

You could probably substitute with layers of spinach

Shona, you have done soooo well! Looking at your stats, your BMI is fantastic and you are half way in your % lost and % to go! Well done Shona!

Asda do a Woo Sung Seaweed (26g)
Per serving 8cals and 0.8g carbs.

I love seaweed and this may be an option instead of always having broccoli in the future :D
