Self Sabotage - Why Oh Why?

    Sorry if this is a repeated thread, I looked and I couldnt find it!

    Im basically starting this to look for help and ask for help when self sabotaging.
    I think Im the nations worst culprit! I do really well and the compliments start to come in and then BANG!:doh: I lose it and eat anything and everything for absolutely no reason. Im not hungry, Im not craving it - Im just eating it!:17729:

    Losing weight has begun to take over my life, Ive got to exercise more, eat less, as easy as that! Whats my problem?

    Im not sure what the triggers are, Im sure Im not the only one. What peoples thoughts on sabotage and how can we beat it?

    I eat when I'm angry sad and happy... It's emotional for me, I treat myself to a takeaway after a week of work and have a cheat meal after weigh In... I have no one to blame but myself!

    have healthy and super yummy snacks ready! I've seen quite a few people mention chicken drumsticks from the fakeaway book which looks good so I'm buying that next week. Get rid of all of the bad stuff (bin it, give it away, donate it..), and if you always use card or something or when you first open your wallet at shops have a note in there saying "Do you really want to?!" (the last one is what has helped me the most. :) It's a bit embarrassing when at the till but it's worth it.)

    I sure have no one else to blame! Its certainly not lack of support from here, some 'Mins Friends' Ive made are fantastic supporters, I just wish I didn't let them down. I can't really afford to go back to group, plus don't really get the time to. I couldn't handle the clapping, it was always so fake! Wish i didnt have time to eat! heehee. :p

    Oooh I like the note on my creditcard idea.

    I really cant bin or give things away, have a chocoholic husband and 3 kids, (which are fit and slim) so I cant restrict them to things when they don't have my problem with weight. I have this crazy theory that if its in the house they won't crave it and try and hide the things they eat because its 'not allowed'. Think thats what done me in as a kid! It was never allowed in the house so I secretly bought it and ate it caused binge eating Im sure of it!!

    I am so guilty of this
    Yesterday I got too hungry waiting for my dinner to cook so added a bun for my burger, deep fried wedges and garlic mayo!! Then thought oh well I've gone over my syns now and had chocolate with the kids Went on to pick up a bottle of wine and a snickers Just totally sabotaged all my success express days during the week

    And I really think its because I let myself get too hungry and OVERcompensated !!!

    I need to plan and prepare otherwise I go off track in a big way Now all I need to do is remember that!!!!

    I've done it recently... Started to lose, thought I was amazing and could have as much cheat meals as I wanted... Well I can't...

    Got a full body analysis done and it turns out I'm 42% fat!! Like wtf am I doing to myself!! It's the biggest wake up call ever!

    How did you get a body analysis done? I quite fancy that might give me a wake up call. Either to stop the nonsense or knowing me to add to it!:eek:

    Maybe going back to group and getting the Image Therapy might help? I know when I have bad weeks I always go and stay, that way if I gain I face it and get ideas from others too. I think of the ££s as spent wisely on getting me healthy.

    I'd love to go to group but I live abroad and they don't have SW here!! I'm trying my best though to get back into it...

    I keep giving into chocolate. I find it a lot easier if I sit and plan my meals so going to sit and write up my week tomorrow!!

    I am exactly the same. I find that if I tell myself " if I'm good all day then I can use my syns for a little treat" then I seem to stick to it like glue. I think for me its finding those low syn goodies that I know I can have if I am craving something sweet. At the moment its all about the mikado sticks - 0.5 a stick and chewits- also 0.5 a sweet. since finding this out I like to leave myself 5 for goodies. Might be worth a try. After weeks of not sticking to plan. I am currently on on day 3 of being 100%

    Ah I was thinking the same I crave sweet sometimes! Mikado sticks and chewits sound like they might sort me out!!

    I couldn't believe it when I found out. Was checking a few times to make sure I was reading it right. And I was! Just checked starburst. Its coming up as 1 syn a sweet. 9 syns for a 45g tube or 3 syns for a 16 g pack

    Well goodmorning people. I sabotaged yesterday morning whilst starting this thread then kicked myself in the butt and was good the rest of the day!! Is it cos ive told you all how bad ive been or is it just fluke? I even went into kfc bought a bucket for the gang and then cooked myself a sw curry!! That dont happen to me,ever ever!!!! Victory - long may it continue. :)

    I've been off plan all week and it's also been after a week with lots of people noticing how much weight I've lost. I weigh in tomorrow and will just have to draw a line under it.

    I think it's about rebellion and restriction. The only thing that works for me is to remind myself I'm making a choice and realistically not sweating it if it's part of a meal and just doing my best to choose wisely when there's little option.

    I'm sure the weight loss will be slower but I'm convinced that if I just counted syns for sweets/biscuits/cakes/booze it'll come off.
