    Morning everyone

    I would like to lose 2lbs this month (I know my numbers are going down but I am so close to what i want to be I am not really being as tough on myself this time)!

    Welcome to all Slimfasters old and new. Please feel free to make a pledge for this months challenge and use this thread to post your progress on your weigh in day and keep us posted with how you are getting on.

    I'm going to push myself this month and aim for 6lbs. I haven't been too good for the past month and so this is a bit of a fresh start with it being a new month.

    Hi everyone! I'm going for 14lbs in July as I have just started Slim Fast today (properly - not 2 shakes and eating crap in the evenings!! like I have been for the last couple of weeks). Few more questions (sorry!!):

    How much exercise will I have to do each day to achieve that? (I have just burnt off 200 cal on the treadmill - 30 minutes - is that enough each day or do I need to do more?? - I really have no idea)

    Does eating the snacks make much difference to the weight loss? (I'm finding that I dont feel hungry between shakes so is it bad if I dont eat them??)

    What else can I do to make sure I lose as much as possible (without making myself ill obviously)

    Re exercise - I only walk - I don't actually do exercises like that.

    Snacks - I expect it does make a difference to your weight loss but you must be careful that you don't go into starvation mode. Personally I have my snacks but I know others who don't but add it onto their calorie allowance for their dinner.

    Thanks FF - I shall be careful to eat my snacks if I am hungry but it seems mainly like its 4pm when I need food! Finding it hard to drink all the water needed tho, but I'm sure I will get used to it!

    I have got to do it. I am so unhealthy it actually scares me. I have said all year I would like to lose weight but I have done it v. half heartedly. Got to do it now! I know I still weigh 13 stone something, but at least I wont be 14 and a half stone when I move! Fed up of being the fat one in my friends - I used to look nice when I was 12 stone and less! Now I feel repulsive and I dont want to buy new clothes even tho I desperately need them!

    Well done on your weight loss so far! It such a good feeling to see those scales go down. Cant wait!!

    It is a good feeling and you will get there! I weighed 13stone 13lbs when I started and am now down to 10st 13lbs. It has taken me six months but it has been worth it.

    Hi Spod,

    If you don't want your calories then don't have them. It is completely down to you. Just make sure you are getting your 2 shakes plus a 600 cal meal as this is what is providing you with your nutrition. You may find that in a couple of weeks you will start to want them as some people do start getting hungry on the plan once their bodies have adjusted to it. If you find you are hungry make sure you add your snacks.

    With regards to how much do you need to exercise that is very difficult to say as it will be different with different people. Anything is better than nothing, even if its just climbing the stairs or going for a walk. It all makes a difference.

    1lb is apparently equal to 3500 calories. If the recommended daily allowance to maintain weight is 2000cal and you are having 1000, then in effect you have 7000 calories less per week making a 2lb loss. That is the maths but it doesn't necessarily work in practice. Don't forget that muscle does weigh more than fat so too much exercise may show as a gain if you are building muscle mass. Many of us take measurements; waist. hips, thighs etc because even if the scales don't move, this doesn't mean you aren't shrinking.

    yay a challenge! well considering i've only been on it for a couple of days i'm going to aim for around 14lbs too :eek: i'm getting a headache thinking about it :p Good Luck to all of you, we can do it!!!! xx

    Back from turkey is was really nice and boiling, weighed 2day and ive put on 3.

    I would be happy with 4 this month

    aaah had a little set back today, had my lunch at nandos :cry: i've definitely gone over, will need to cut out snacks today i think :cry:i don't want to stop though.......but definitely won't have a great loss this week
