Britons are consuming almost an extra 1,700 extra tonnes of sugar a year as a result of swapping bottled water for sugary drinks, research has suggested.

I must admit I used to drink 2 litres of fizzy pop a day, no wonder my weight went through the roof. Water all the way :)
