Hi all!

Well, I've finally woken up to what I need to do, and have the motivation to do it...

Tomorrow starts the new me - I know that sounds like I'm postponing the inevitable, but it's really been a struggle to finish off the last few bits of "Xmas" food in the fridge. There's a pan of carrot and coriander soup simmering on the stove and I'm feeling really positive about the next few months - can't wait for that feeling of positivity that I felt last time the pounds started falling away.

At 17 st 2 lb (ish - gonna weigh myself tomorrow for a baseline) I've got a long way to go but looking forward to the ride...

The plan tomorrow is (GREEN):

Breakfast-
Oats so simple (HEB)
100ml semi milk (part HEA)
1tsp sugar (1 syn)

Lunch:
Carrot and coriander soup: fry light, carrots, onions, sweet potatoes, butternut, herbs and spices, stock cube

Dinner:
The last of the ready meals in the fridge - will use up my syns / other HEB on 1/3 of a Waitrose lamb hotpot - no idea how many actual syns this will be, but can't really afford to throw it out!
Loads of veg!

Extras:
Rest of my milk allowance in tea
Fruit: melon and bananas

So that's the plan - not ideal but will have to do. Will let you know how it goes tomorrow!
 
Well, day 1 over and it's gone well... I ate the food I'd planned to, with the only extra being a cashew nut that I popped in my mouth without thinking! Wasn't even tempted by my colleague's brownies!

I'm sure the hotpot used up all my syns, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow already...

Onwards and downwards!
 
Week 1, Day 2 (GREEN):

Breakfast-

Lunch:
More of yesterday's veg soup

Dinner:
Pork stir-fry (lean pork HEB + 8 syns), ginger, garlic, chilli, soy sauce, stock cube, loads of veg and served with rice)

Rest of my milk allowance in tea
Fruit: melon
Two sips of beer (1 syn) - my OH opened a 9 pint keg of my favourite beer left over from Xmas and I wasn't really tempted to have more than a taste!
Diet squash

Total syns = 10

Overall a very good day. Still feeling positive and am planning my next batch of soup as the last lot was really tasty!!

Pint of beer (14 syns) - not sure how many syns exactly - the closest I could find was stout, so I've estimated using that.

Haven't used all my HEs - but I had such a large spud I'm really not hungry.

Spanish omlette (eggs, bacon, chicken, mushrooms, peppers)

1 slice wholemeal bread (HEB)

Banana and clementine
Gin and slimline x 2 (8 syns)

Total: 16 syns

Oops! I just couldn't resist that second gin!;)
 
Week 1, Day 5 (my first attempt at EE):

Breakfast-

Clementine

Lunch:
Salad (mixed leaves, tomatoes, roast peppers and new potatoes in fry light, chopped up omelette and a tiny bit of left over chicken)
Grapes

Dinner:
Stir fry (chicken, onions, mangetout, peppers, mushrooms, ginger, garlic, chilli, soy sauce) served with new spuds roasted in fry light (cos they were so tasty at lunch).

Banana
Gin and slimline x 3 (12 syns) - well it is Friday night!!!

As this is my first go at EE I would welcome any feedback!! Probably didn't have full third of breakfast as superfree but it's difficult with an Oats so Simple as it fills me up!

I feel like I've eaten too much, but it tasted good!!

Cottage pie (lean mince, onion, garlic, carrots, celery, stock, herbs and stuff) topped with a mixture of potato, butternut, sweet potato and swede, with egg and a sprinkling of Parmesan (1 syn)
Veg (broccoli, carrots, French beans, courgette)

Again I feel like I've eaten a lot of food - may need to reduce the portion size as I continue, but I'll see how the weigh-ins go for the first few weeks...

Bought some frozen fruit to try with my porridge tomorrow rather than sugar as I think it'll be better for me.

Weigh in tomorrow morning. I'm not sure EE is going to work for me, as it's very similar to what I used to eat whilst piling on the pounds. We'll see what happens tomorrow...

So pleased with this morning's 8lb loss - I think I'll stick to EE for a while as it suits my lifestyle. I know the weight loss will slow down considerably, but EE appears really do-able in the long term xx

What can I say - bad bad day... Had some terrible news today - bereavement in the family. To be honest, the last thing I want to do is post this but-
