Starting a food/weight loss diary

I've just come off the exante diet as it was making me feel a bit ill, I want to lose my weight slowly now with healthy eating and exercise.
My mum has a weightwatchers book from a few years ago. I'm really shy of going to a meeting, I will be using tips from this book and doing some exercise.
Does anyone mind if I do a food/weightloss diary on the diary forum? Thought i'd better ask first incase it's only for people who attend the meetings. It will hopefully keep me motivated and less likely to cheat. :)
