Starting again. 7 weeks until Christmas!!!

It's really good & filling! I forgot to say I also put an onion in. If you roast then peel the peppers then they tend to have more flavour :) I wouldn't worry about going a couple over if you haven't used any of your weeklies! Xx

Haha yesterday was my first day back on it so plenty of weeklies ;) I'm deciding if I should bring snacks to uni, maybe pop past asda and get some pre cut fruit x

I'm at uni now & have a banana, weight watchers cookies & a bottle of water in my bag. I'm doing 9-4 with no break as I have a lovely maths exam! :( so my snacks will keep me going until tea! I'm going out for tea to a Greek tapas place but I think I'll be okay as I have all my weeklies left & they do lots of grilled chicken & prawns & things :) xxx

Morning ladies

Good luck with the exam Nikki. Well done on being prepared with good snacks :).

Lesley Ann, good luck for your placement. I would sooooooo love to retrain as a nurse. I went to a taster event beginning of the year at Worcester uni and loved it. Unfortunately though I would have to give up a full time job and obviously my wage so not sure I'm ever going to be able to do it.

Kim, enjoy your meal. I'm not a Chinese food lover at all so don't have any suggestions but would definitely go with boiled rice not fried.

Sue, how are you doing lovely?

Sarah, a new week Hun, hope you have a good one :) x

Ange, your cake sounds delicious and looked lovely, probably a goo thing you didn't enjoy it too much though :).

Afm, I tell you what ladies, if you could die from boredom last night I would have done it. I'm seriously running out of ways to entertain myself now, I've even asked my mother in law if she'll take me to tesco later just to get out. How exciting!!!! I've just had a visit from a friend / colleague though so that was a nice start to the day. We've made a pact to join a Zumba class when I back on my feet. Food wise, I feel I'm doing well, I'm writing everything down still which does help.

Hope you all have a good day lovelies xxxx

Morning ladies,

Hope you are all well and behaving ;-) I am intrigued by these weekly points. Can you eat them all at once? Can you eat anything as long as you point? Just don't see how they work on top of your normal daily allowance !!! Explain please??

Lesley-anne, I trained in general nursing then worked for a while as staff nurse on a coronary care unit. Knew it wasn't what I wanted to do for ever but when I qualified you were automatically given a staff job but you couldn't choose where. I eventually got a sisters post on A&E and loved it. I worked in a small hospital which eventually closed down so I applied for A practice nurses post in a local GP surgery as it was the up and coming area for nursing. I stayed there and did my Nurse Practitioners training. I specialised in asthma, diabetes and well woman and stayed ther for years until I had to take early retirement through ill health. I'm fine now and regret not working any more but have got used to the Ladies who Lunch mentality ;-0. Good luck with your first placement and don't overeat the day before if you're stressed !!!

Hi Kim, Enjoy your Chinese at your in-laws tonight. Try to keep as many points as you can by having 0point soup for lunch and snacking on fruit throughout the day. If you do go over then forget it and start anew tomorrow.

Morning Becca, Don't let boredom start you on the slippery slope of eating. I've been there when I first finished working and well the weight goes on a lot faster than it comes off !!! So when you go to Tesco with your Mother-in law no buying sweet treats. Put a photo of your Xmas dress that just about fits on your phone and keep looking at it if you are tempted ;-))

Well I've got a hot date with an ironing board so must go....at least it'll stop me eating for a while !!

Luv Ang x

You get the 49 weekly points & use them for treats like eating out, wine, chocolate etc. and yeah you can eat them however you want! They work because you're allowed more propoints than you need and weight watchers did it to stop people from cheating :) xxx

Ang, a and e would be exciting! My mums a nurse, she was an enrolled nurse in a small hospital for years and it closed down so she moved about a few places and Simons her bridging course and is now a staff nurse in the GPS, in the treatment room so relatively similar :)
The weekly points are good, you can either divide them by 7 and have a wee bit extra each day or for wine and a meal out or take away at the weekends!

Becca, I can only afford to do it since my boyfriend moved in and pays the rent lol! I'm excited but a bit scared!!! I'm 26 in a few weeks and I've never changed a baby's nappy never mind a grown up persons one!!!

Can't believe it, got up and ready for work today in a bit of a rush like you do. Got dressed and all sorted then realised I hadn't weighed!! Now I don't know about you lot but i'm not ready for weighing in my clothes yet. If I weigh tomorrow is that cheating ?? Maybe I just shouldn't bother this week as I just a chinese that i had promised myself all week for being good......Ohhhh decisions decisions, ladies what do I do

Sue! I think maybe weigh yourself tomorrow so that you don't feel like you don't need to try as hard this week? I know that's what I would do! Xxx

Yep

I agree with Ange Hun x

Oh Sue, that's a tricky one, If youve had the chinese tonight I think I would wait until next week rather than tomorrow and use it to encourage you to have another good week and a really good weigh in next Friday. Will you be able to keep away from the scales for another whole week though? I haven't dared to have a sneaky look at all this week, I keep looking at them every morning and thinking shall I! But haven't

The Nutella cake sounded perfect to me Ang, I don't think my taste buds or stomach have the ability to find anything too sweet or sickly!! ;)

Hope the essay is going ok Lesley-anne, like Ang said don't let the stress and worry of next week make you turn to food for comfort, (im terrible for this, i always turn to food for comfort whether im sad or happy!) once you arrive on Monday I'm sure all your worries will disappear, bet you will love it. I had forgotten about snack a jacks, going to add them to my list!

How was the exam Nikki? Hope it went well and hope you enjoyed your tapas tonight. Attempting butternut squash soup this week but going to try yours next week, sounds delicious.

Sorry to hear you we're so bored Becca, hope you have had a better evening tonight, well done for not turning to food though, it's so easily done when you are bored. Zumba will be great fun, you and your friend should definitely do that, when you are ready. Did you feel better after your trip to Tesco?

Well, I don't think the Chinese tonight will have caused too much damage, they bought a meal for three and then we all shared (between 6, of us, 8 if you count the girls but they didn't eat much) and there was plently left over, I just put a little on my plate and made sure I was choosing what I thought would be the least in calories, I had a really good food day up until the Chinese so hoping that that and a good weekend will make it ok by mondays weigh in! Also did my exercise DVD this morning and horseriding this afternoon plus we have a busy weekend helping my mum move furniture so that should burn a few extra calories! I hope !

I know how hard the weekends usually are for all of us will family and husbands/boyfriends around eating all sorts of lovely treats but keep at the diet girls, we can do it x

The exam was good except my calculator broke!!! Other than that was fine thank you! We went to nando's instead which was much easier to point than tapas & I offered to drive to avoid wine! Used 7 weeklies but I did have chips as they had run out of mash! Don't feel too guilty! Going ice skating tomorrow which I'm sure should help me haha! Hope everyone had a good day! Xxx

Hi Kim
This is the recipe I use for Butternut squash soup and its delish, my son wants me to make every time he comes up from London to visit.
If you don't have your own regular recipe then give it a g o

BUTTERNUT SQUASH AND GINGER SOUP

Ingredients: 1 butternut squash, small piece of ginger (slightly bigger than a malteser size) 1 clove of garlic. Black Pepper and salt. (you could add chilli too)

Cut squash, garlic and ginger into pieces. Season. Boil everything in water for 8-10 minutes. Pour everything including the water its boiled in into the large blender unit. Blend. Its delicious and healthy. Enjoy.........

I boil it for about 25-30 minutes until everything is really soft and you can use a stick blender if you want instead of a large blender...it's quicker

Luv Ang x

I usually add carrots and onions to mine if you want it a bit more bulky :) xx

Oh it's lovely, so glad I tried making it.i used two butternut squashes so I have loads, think I will freeze some. I will try adding carrots next time thanks Becca. I do have loads of carrots and a few leeks, do you think a carrot and leek soup would be nice? Hope you all have a nice weekend,we are off to move furniture now-hoping it will mean i burn lots of extra calories ! x

Morning Ladies,

Just getting ready to go to my local hair/beauty salon to get my nails done.....I've discovered Shellac and love it. I can get 3 weeks out of a manicure and polish without any chips (not the scrummy kind !!!)

The salon has been revamped and is having it's relaunch party today. Everybody gets a glass of champagne, nibbles and a free goodie bag .
Not a lover of champagne but if I do drink it I will count it in my points. It's the nibbles I'm worried about. I've no will power. If I have 1 then they'll have to move the plate or I'll wolf the lot !!
:eating:

Hope you enjoy the BNS soup , we all love it. Think I'll make one for teatime just incase I go mad on the nibbles ;-)

Have a good weekend my shrinking buddies

Luv Ang x

I've heard shellac is good but never been sure if you can have it on acrylics or not hmm. I hope you had a good time & didn't go too mad with the nibbles but if you did at least you can have your soup! I'm trying your recipe tomorrow it sounds good! X
