Suzyflo's food diary....back on the wagon, target reached, now I need to stay there!!

Had a lovely synful tea tonight, I thought I deserved a treat after having been on a weeks holiday to the algarve (where the weather was poo!) and having lost half a pound at weigh in tonight - so it is possible to eat, drink, be merry AND lose weight,

Chunky steak pie with s/w chips, mushy peas and gravy....mmm lovely :)

It's the hubster's birthday today so we have had cake and been out for a meal, had steak and j/p followed by apple and blackberry crumble and custard (we shared one between us) and red wine too, very nice indeed :)

After the last two days of naughtiness, I've kicked off today with a good healthy s/w friendly breakfast - 35g of crunchy bran with strawberries, grapes and banana with semi skimmed milk from hexa allowance.

Hi Quins, it's going fine, thanks. Not around as much as I should be I'm afraid, don't seem to have enough to keep up with minimins. You're doing really well, I'm particularly impressed with the amount of exercise you do, I should make an effort really, full of good intentions but I never follow it through, one day maybe!!

Hi suzyflo , good to hear from you. I can understand that you are busy, good that you have popped by though. I had been chipping away at my exercise regime, walking turned into walk and jog that in turn evolved into jog and trail run. Plus, not having my son at home at weekends meant that I could get back to my cycling club on Saturday, I love it. I still think the discipline of writing my food diary, at night, keeps me heading towards my target.

I used to like checking your diary for ideas too. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi to anyone that might be around to read this, I knew I hadn't updated here for a while but since June! Much longer than I thought.

I've been within target range up until very recently, we've had a family wedding, few days away, shifts at work have changed so I'm completely out of my routine (excuses, excuses!) so I've crept up to being a bit more than I should be....oops! I need to get to grips before it gets out of hand, that might be a bit difficult this week as hubby and I are off to the lakes for three days,we're staying at the Macdonald Old England Hotel at Windermere and on the way up we're calling in at Cockermouth to visit my son and have lunch with him, then we'll travel up to the hotel where we're booked in for dinner bed and breakfast for two nights, I'll try and make good food choices :)

We finally sold out investment house, a bit later than expected but there was a hold up at the bottom of the chain so instead if it being early/mid August, we finally completed on 15th October, two months and two council tax payments later! Never mind, we got there ini the end and made a decent return. We've had a look at a few houses for our next project but not seen anything we like yet, no rush though.

I've been a bit chilly since last Thursday as our central heating has broken, we've got boiler breakdown cover and an engineer came out last Friday but parts are needed to fix it so we're waiting for them to be approved by the insurance company and then ordered and fitted, maybe by the end of the week - it will be nice to go away for those few days for a warm! I'm grateful for three things 1) that we have an electric fire in the living room, 2) that we have an electric shower in the main bathroom (the one in the en-suite is fed from the hot water tank - we have no hot water!) 3) that we took the builder's advice and had an independent heat source in the garden room instead of teeing into the main gas central heating system. It could have been so much worse :)

I'll try and get back here soon, not promising though ;)

Bye for now x

Welcome back! I'm not really posting but I'm lurking still.

I'm doimg calorie counting in the week (mostly!) and having what I want (within reason) at the weekends. I seem to be keeping between 10st and 10st 3lbs so happy with that.

Well done on completing on the house and I hope you have a lovely tine away

Xx

Hi Suzyflo, welcome back, well done on your epic sale, the next project sounds exciting too. Sorry to hear about the heating situation, I can empathise with that , we've had several boiler dramas in our farm house in winter periods, blinkin freezing , always happens when we've run out of wood and coal as well so we couldn't get the fires going.
You'll soon get those few pounds off, I bet no one else has noticed, only you and the scales.

I'm under the weather, seems that November is a bad time if the year for me! I tend to get run down, heavy man flu that would kill normal civilians ( lol) ,sinus infection etc. I've been sent home from work, I kept going in and everyone said I didn't look well. Been feeling dizzy for about 10 days, pains in head..and last night I broke out in full blown blocked sinus/ cold, sore throat, blocked ears... Reminded me of Spike Milligans epitaph on his tombstone , " I told you I was ill".
Catch you later, nice to hear from you.

Hi VP, you're doing well, you seem to have a lot of socialising going on too so that makes it an even better achievement.

We had a nice time away thanks, the weather stayed dry and we got out for some good long walks, the hotels were very nice, especially the one in windermere, we were upgraded to a lake view room which was lovely, really nice food at both places? it was nice catching up with my son too....I'll be seeing him again soon as he has a few days off work so is coming to stay with us.
We've been looking around for another house but nothing we've seen so far has seemed right, there's no rush so we'll just bide our time, I think we were a bit spoilt with the last one as we got it for such a good price and spent very little on it, we'll see what turns up.

I had planned to go for a walk this morning but it is chucking it down and very windy so I'll give it a miss.

xx

Hi Quins,

Hope you are better now, I see you had a problem with your tooth, teeth can be a nuisance can't they, hope you get a permanent fix sorted soon.

We have a lovely toasty warm house now that the heating is fixed, makes me wonder how we ever managed in the old days when we didn't have central heating, too soft these days, that's the trouble!

You're probably right about no one noticing the extra pounds but I want to get them off for me, it makes me miserable not seeing the weight that I like on the scales display, I really think I should get back to writing all my food down, maybe in the new year.

x :)

Happy New Year Suz!

Let's hope it's a good one! How's your NYD panning out? I still have a house full of teenagers in various states.... Can't believe I fell for that one. Me and mrs were shoved out with a morrisons takeaway curry to my in laws.... Not exactly glam. I'm really looking forward to getting back in the groove , it or I started to fall apart from November, December . Not worried about weight, I excelled last year.

Wishing you and yours all the best.

Bit of a long delay, sorry! - NYD is such a long time ago I can hardly remember it! Was ill and we we're suppose to be having dinner at my daughters house, we got there but I just couldn't face it so had to make my apologies and go back home to bed, I hadn't had much to drink the night before so it was probably the sickness bug that was going around at the time.

I'm definitely back now! I haven't been to group for ages and have just got back from an all inclusive holiday to Sharm El Sheikh, had a great time but with the damage I'd already done before we went and the extra pounds I've put on while I was away I really don't like what my scales are telling me (could have been much worse, I was being fairly restrained). I'm going to do extra easy, I didn't get away with it before as I'm a red and green girl at heart but I've read through the extra easy book and I'm keeping a food diary so hopefully it will work for me this time.

Wish me luck!!

Hey Suz! Glad you are still around. Yes New Year seems ages ago, sorry to gear you were ill. miserable January weather looks like continuing into Feb. holiday sounds great, you will soon be back on track. I'd be very keen to see how do with EE, I find it easier to do red and green. I did watch that a Fat v Sugar programme and I thought it was similar to carb green days and red meat days ( but with less fat !) and it got me thinking about energy intake and muscle loss, especially with the training I'm doing ( or not as I've had another cold.) maybe I need to be eating more carbs and protein, almost EE?

Anyway, welcome back.

Thanks Quins, I'm quite focused at the moment. I'm sure EE will be fine when I get my head around it, I'm used to red and green I was only doing them half heartedly, I felt like I needed to do something different.

Another cold? Do you get an annual flu jab? If not, then maybe you should.

Here goes with todays food:

HexA -milk
HexB - crunchy bran

B - crunchy bran with strawberries, blueberries and banana
