Total Solution Taking it one day at a time

Just a quick update. It's weigh-in day - I'm at 15st 11lb. So I lost 3 pounds this week, I'm happy about that - from memory I tend to lose about 5 pounds a fortnight after the first week. I'm a slow loser compared to some. I didn't think I was going to lose anything as I feel like I'm retaining water - so upping my water to combat that. Hope the weather cools down soon. It's alright when you're on your holidays and everywhere has air-conditioning and you can just relax. Have a great day everyone!

Well done, 3lbs is great and even 5lb a fortnight is really good. I am south of England but get a cool sea breeze at least. Have a good week

Thanks Freefall, everything is going fine on the diet - thanks for asking. I've just been crazy busy the last few days and haven't had time to log on.

I'm on day 19 now and I haven't came off the plan. The monotony of the diet is the worst thing really and I can't seem to just relax - I need to be doing something all the time but if that's the price I have to pay I'm happy.

Glad the weather is cooler, I had a couple of days last week when I had to be out a lot and didn't know if I would get to a loo - so I cut down on the water through the day and ended up feeling really ill. Also started the psyllium husks on Wednesday - I have to take them 30 minutes before eating with 250ml of water - so all my meals are ending up later because I forget about that - going to set a timer.

Good luck for the week ahead

Today was a difficult day - made it through by the skin of my teeth. I need to get a good nights sleep and plenty of water to make tomorrow a better day. At least I've got my weigh in on Wednesday to look forward too:) (The sad thing is I really mean that)

Hope everyone has a good week!

Hi Les, I'm doing good thanks , the last couple of day have been a lot easier, I'm still tired and feeling a bit lazy but I bought a couple of books and am just reading whenever I get the chance.

Well I did my weigh in today and I lost 3.5 pounds! Really happy with that

I started doing extra walking yesterday - I'm aiming to get an extra hours walk (minimum) every day. I wish I had a dog to walk - that would make it so much nicer.

I am pretty sure I am deficient in Vitamin D so trying to get out and about as much as possible and I'm doing some research about adding a supplement. I know the meals give you the RDA but I've been doing some reading and it's recommended that if you are deficient you should be having higher doses. Going to do some more research on this the next couple of days.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Well done on the loss and even more on the walking. I lose on average a stone a month, being on the shorter side my calorie deficit is smaller than those taller so I need some sort of exercise. I take vitamin D and Glucosamine for my joints as my knees are dodgy, in what seems like a previous life as I use to run regularly.

Great weight loss. Well done x
Not had a good week here hopefully a fresh start tomorrow x

Well I've been neglecting the diary :(

Thanks very much Les and Freefall, :)

I've struggled a bit the last few days - ended up having some bacon on Thursday and smoked ham yesterday but managed through otherwise, I have walked every day since Tuesday and I'm enjoying it. I'm not feeling as stiff as I did when I started already but I am still tired because of it.

I started the Vitamin D yesterday. I am looking to add Krill oil in a couple of weeks and (thanks Freefall) Glucosamine a couple of weeks after that - going to add them one at a time in case of any adverse reactions so I know what caused them lol. I've never even heard of Glucosamine before but it sounds like something that I really need - I always have aches and pains in my joints - I've just gotten used to it I think. Losing the weight will help a lot but anything which will help with that is most welcome.

Sorry you had a tough week Les, I hope next week is easier and good luck for the week ahead Freefall!

I do not know how well the vitamins work and I have been taking them for a while but my knees have improved although weight loss has made a real difference. Have a good week.

Things going from bad to worse for me. Had to go on steroids today as I thought my throat was going to close over last night it's been on going and I'm seeing a consultant on the 27th as the ringing in my ears has been continuous for 6 weeks now and they reckon it's all connected.
Let's hope tomorrow is better x

Thanks Freefall, I'm going to give it a try - they seem quite affordable so I don't have much to lose as long as they don't mess with any other vitamins that I take.

Aww Les, I'm sorry to hear that - I hope the steroids work fast. Are you seeing an ear, nose and throat specialist? I hope the ringing in your ears goes soon, that sounds difficult to live with. :(

Today was good for me - I find Mondays seem to be really easy , maybe it's because the weekend is so difficult. Hope tomorrow is good for you both and I really hope you feel better Les

Just a quick post - I did my weigh in and I lost 3.5 pounds, so chuffed to bits - Running total now 1 stone 2.5 lbs in 4 weeks. Going to have my water now and have my lunch (Chocolate chip cookie) in a wee while - really looking forward to it today cause I need to eat something. Anyway hope everyone has a great day!

Thank you Freefall and Les, I really didn't expect it. I know it's not amazingly high for exante but I seem to be losing more on exante than I did years ago on cambridge and I expected the losses to be slower than then - long may it continue.

I made up a spreadsheet calculating when I would get to goal based on an average 2.5 pounds per week loss and according to that I would get to 10 stone on 31st January 2018 - which would be great and quite motivational. Gives me plenty of time to lose the inevitable 5-6 pounds or so you gain after coming off a vlcd and maintain for my holiday in June .

I'm still walking most days, and yesterday even walked up a killer hill without collapsing . I need to start walking faster as it's getting embarrassing. I am just a naturally slow walker - even when I make the effort to walk briskly it lasts a few minutes and then I start getting distracted by watching everything around me and before I realise it I've been dawdling for the majority of the walk.

Well I'm having another go at the Strawberry delight meal tonight, I must have did something wrong the last time because it was inedible. Hoping that goes better because I have another 13 to get through before the end of the month (they were on offer lol)

Oh and I'm thinking about making ice lollies from the shakes so I'm going to order some moulds tonight, in theory it sounds great but I will just have to wait and see on that one.

Looking forward to Saturday because I will have been on the diet for over one month!, and today is day 29 for me so I have officially lasted longer than I ever did on the Cambridge.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow :)

You should b so proud of yourself. Well done to be able to set up a chart to monitor your weightloss.
Your walking sounds so good, don't worry about people passing u by it's your own personal achievement that matters.
A month on the plan how great is that.
I am on my first day of three packets and cannot believe I have managed it. Tomorrow is another day and I hope to have another good day. I will try and focus one day at a time from now on. I hope that I can b as strong as you are. Well done and I look forward to your next post x

Well done on making it through today on the three packs!!! It get's easier - that's fantastic and when you wake up tomorrow it will already be day two on the packs - are you just doing it for a while as a kick-start or are you thinking about doing it till you get to goal? I think it is easier to stick to the diet when you've got as much weight as I have to lose as I have so much to gain (so to speak), You really seem determined though - you haven't given up (That was my promise to myself when I started - don't give up and you will get somewhere) and you had a holiday not that long ago and I always struggled after holidays - you are doing better than I ever did.

Definitely stick to one day at a time, I keep saying I don't know how long I'm going to be on the diet because I know if I think I HAVE to be in on it till goal that will send me running to the nearest takeaway. I hope I will be on it for a long time though and I feel so much better than I did a month ago so fingers crossed but no expectations.

Have a fab day tomorrow!!!

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me tagging on here?

It's lovely to see how much support you all give other -I might be in need of it soon when the novelty wears off!

I'm on day 2 of TLS and so far so good although I was starving this afternoon :( can you tell me if a morning cup of pg with milk is ok or will that throw me off ketosis?

I did Lipotrim a few years ago, which worked wonders but Exante seems to have slightly different rules....
