Taz's diary - Need to do this!

ooooh does anyone know where to get sugar snap peas? The ones in their pods? Or do you have to grow them yourself?
 
I usually buy them in Tesco - lovely in salads raw - just wash & dry off or steamed as a veg x

Awwwwww today started sooooo well!




I went to yoga this morning and that was good. Came home to chill for a couple hours then went into work. All went very well there and I also managed to negotiate and early shift for tomorrow so I can still go training tomorrow night! My return to work plan is really good and I am looking forward to it.

I get home, have to put some fuel in the car and get something to eat before training. So I leave early so I can do both at the local garage. Then off I go to training. 5 minutes from the academy, at the end of the ring road, I smell something funny and as I slow down I also see a lot of smoke. Didn't take me long to realise that it was coming from my car! I quickly pulled over and phoned my dad who helped me determine that it was a brale stuck on. At that moment my training partner and her dad pulled up in front of me! So after a quick inspection of my car he offered to drive slowly behind me to see if I could get my car to the academy. We made it with no problem and the brale seems to have released itself. We got there just in time for the start of the class!

Then we are busy sweating away and doing what we have to do, 45 minutes into the class my knee gave way!!!!!! It doesn't feel too great, I can weight bear, I can bend it, but I can't do the two together! Which is a real problem as most of our stances require bent knees! I have had a soak in the bath and covered my knee in Voltarol gel so hopefully that will help. I am now resting until Saturday. So typical that my knees have been behaving for so long and 3 days before my pre grading one decides to go AWOL :(
 
What awful timing - your knee is obviously not your best friend at the moment. Rest as much as you can, given that you are working tomorrow. Don't overdo it x
 
Morning all! I am up bright and early... well... early. My knee seems a little easier today. I think something just went a little out of place so with some rest it should work it's way back. Off for a 9 and a half hour shift. Talk about easing in gently!
 
Good luck with your first "real" day back - though I know you won't see this until it's all over x
 
hey taz. just been catching up. this yoghurt diet almost sounds worth it!! hee. i love yoghurt. mmm. might give it a shot myself pre-wedding. yes, i'm getting that desperate... :)

Hi Taz. Sorry to hear about your knee, I hope it is okay for your grading.

Hope your first day at work went okay and you're not too knackered.
 
Deary me! Your poor knee. And what an inconvenient time for this to happen. Let us know how your pre grading goes. Is this for karate or kickboxing? I used to do Goju Ryu karate-do and you'd def need full use of both knees for most of those stances! haha.

Also hope your first real day back at work went well..what a horrible shift tho! 9 hours! Wow!

Evening all! Welcome to my diary Lady Amalthea.

First day back went really well until i got my payslip! It was £400 less than I usually get and it will cause quite a problem so tomorrow I will spend the day pacifying all those nasty people who want my money!

Abz, this diet is only safe to follow for one week and really should only be done if you have had a proper health check. I haven't but I know the state of my health very well. It's very restrictive and the loss isn't that impressive, there was no move on the scales this morning. The loss will be greater the bigger you are. The really good thing I have found with this is that I think I may eat too much! I have found that I can actually go quite a while without food (which may be useful if I can't afford groceries this month!) and I probably need to listen to myself more!

Yes it is a karate grading. I do freestyle karate so all the stances are the same as the ones you are used to. My knee seems much easier today, I had some trouble with the stairs this morning but they were ok by the end of the day.
 
Sorry your payslip was a disappointment. Hope the pacifying goes ok tomorrow. I know that feeling well.

Got some supplies in for tomorrow, all healthy stuff to build my energy back up for Saturday.

We have thunder and lightning here, just waiting for the rain! MUCH needed!
