Team 13 - Shape Shifters Official Thread

Welcome Mary :)
Welcome Ray :)
Wow! We've got a full team- Julie, Sarah, Amanda, Meg, Mary, Ray(and Pretika at goal) :) How wonderful. Looks like we'll have some fab results for this week :)

Please post your weigh in results on this thread by 7pm on Saturday(weight from last week in lbs and your loss along with new weight :) )

I am a happy bunny today. Ketosis fairy is here and I'm feeling good! :D Weighed myself this morning and looks like a great loss on the cards for tomorrow evening :)
Handed in my nvq work and have crossed off so many points of knowledge for the next one that I've got 9/33 left to do-woohoo!

wow everyone is having a good day :)

We done Amanda for all your hard work, it's paying off :)

Blimey Ray you have got your hands full !! Good for you tho getting back on it, in fact good to all of us, we're doing great :)

Welcome Mary and Ray :grouphugg:

We're a full team now so how encouraging will our results be !

Good evening to all.

I've had a day and a half today as first thing I had a meeting with the people who fund my post - all a bit scary but i'll find out if I'm still funded in April, followed by a case conference for a particularly difficult family but so far so good on the diet ! Hopefully the Ketosis fairy will visit me tonight....

Has anyone seen the buffet/wedding catalogue from Waitrose...food porn of the highest order !!! Ooogling at it beats eating it !

Oh yes me, I'm aged 50 (super old) with 4 kids of my own aged 6 (Abbie - has down syndrome), Nia aged 14, Tim (21 at uni) and Beth aged 22 and just started work.

(Sarah you're 10 years younger and a grandma !!!:D:D),

I work part time as social worker - also do odd nights on the emergency team. This is my very feeble way of explaining why I'm up at 2.00 am.

We also have an extra child we foster. He's aged 12 with autism, I'm writing a paper as part of a PhD....oh yes somewhere in all this i'm trying to loose a further 5 stone. I have a fab arrangement with my neighbour who is a personal trainer - I teach him to use a computer and he trains me, makes me run and encourages me to exercise...he's also extremely handsome , 20 years younger and gay....:):):)

So do feel free to write and pop in. Amanda has explained how she collates the weight so happy weigh ins !

with love xxxx

Hubby sat across the room scoffing a bowl of ice cream. I've just topped up my water :)
Having a night off and will not even look at my next unit until tomorrow night. Have a conference to go to for the day tomorrow. Can't decide whether I'm looking forward to it or not yet!
Hope you're all having a good evening :)

I'm good...I'm on the computer as daughter and husband are eating choc eclairs that he picked up from Sainsburys "as they were reduced" Humph..not that I'm a misery

Amanda - don't work too hard and have a lovely evening - enjoy tomorrow's conference

Well hello all and thanks for having me! I work full time and have a second job, mum to two teenage boys ( oops-no-one teenager the other one is twenty), have mad dogs for pets and watch too much telly!
Looking forward to getting to know you all better and chatting
Mary xx

(Sarah you're 10 years younger and a grandma !!!:D:D),

I know, it seems weird to me too LOL he is adorable and I get to see him every day :) My son who is 3 calls him his brother, which is so cute, my grandson is 2 ...

Please post your weigh in results on this thread by 7pm on Saturday(weight from last week in lbs and your loss along with new weight :) )
Ok, so how am i going to work this gals? Because my new official WI day (the day i see my CDC) will be Monday. So do you want me to post last weeks weight loss results? And then next Saturday post this weeks? Cos i won't know this weeks loss until monday.....if ya get me. (i didn't explain that very well did i!?

*Anyway, after a terrible night last night am still feeling very emotional but am going to try and get back on the wagon and do some damage control. If anything its taught me that i need to find a different coping mechanism when things go wrong at home instead of using the dreaded 'f' word. How do you guys cope?

Well Ray, I am an emotional eater too, last night I was desperate to eat something but didn't, instead I just cried and cried and cried, just the feeling of letting the emotion out was such a relief.. Never done that before always swallow it with food..

Not sure if that helps x

today is yet another naff day....particularly nasty abuse case and a day of meetings so I've come home and eaten ....one cd bar, several peanuts, 1 slice of ham and a small baby bel and cup of tea with milk !! Thats a sure sign of comfort eating or in my case drinking - what I'd like is a nice glass of wine or a vodka and coke but i will dream on and telling myself its weigh in day tomorrow.
So grump grump grump - tonight I'm off to a school play with my daughter - why ? cos her friends are in it ?? But it will stop me eating - I'm heavily into cooking though since weekend I'm no longer baking but I've made meatballs and what smells a yummy sauce - hence the peanuts as I wanted to taste it.

Ray - not sure what to suggest Amanda is the best to ask, she'll be around later

Sarah ....you are still a babe :) even with grand-children

Have a good evening everyone
xxxx

Hi all :)

Conference was good. Went fast enough. I sat and ate my bar while they had bacon sandwiches this morning and then chicken and veg etc for lunch :) I was very happy that they kept us provided with water(especially glad when I spotted the bottle of sparkling!)
I'm off to my weigh in a minute so fingers crossed for a big one lol

You can post your weigh in result as soon as you've been(as long as it's by 7pm Sat)- so I will post tonight and when the next person posts theirs they should copy and past the others so by Saturday evening we'll have a little list of 6 :)
So, if you've already weighed in this week, and won't weigh in again before the deadline, then give that result. Hope that makes sense. If not, let me know and I'll try and reword it :)
Back soon to let you know how I get on :)

Hope the weigh in goes/has gone well.

Glad to hear the conference was good - its hard as sometimes you just feel like they're a waste of time.

with love xx

I didn't get as much out of it as some as I've covered a lot in my nvq. We've done modules of child protection, every child matters, managing behaviour and reflecting on practice but I still managed to bring some things away. The key speech this afternoon was good :)
Back in a tick :)

Back from my weigh in.
I lost 6lbs! :)
I am very happy :)

I'll start the list.......
Amanda71 start weight 170lbs -6lbs =164lbs (3.53%) :)

Congrats Amanda. Great WI results! Conferences hey? That's good. I find you will always get one thing out of a conference. Doesn't have to be huge and life-changing; it's often just an idea someone else has had and you feel like you want to use it. Or they say something that just makes you go, yes, I agree and therefore you have your ideas validated.

I agree. I have one reflective tool that I didn't have when I arrived so at least that's something. Like I've found with most of it though, there are no easy answers or 'how to' formulas and that it's all about persevering with those strategies! lol Would be so much easier if someone say "Do x, y and z-hey presto!"
How was your day today?

Amanda - thats a great loss hun - well done you.
Julie - good luck with the weigh in!
I've put in my order for shakes with my CDC ready to pick up Monday and am having to get two weeks worth as she's away on business the following week - so am commiting to at least another 2 weeks - i can't afford to pay out for Cambridge shakes AND food so i HAVE to stick to it!!
