>>> The 2012 Six Stone Challenge Thread <<<

Another lurker here :wavey::wavey::wavey: I am so busy at the moment, I have the occasional read and click a few like buttons, but have not been posting much. I am on my own in the office doing two peoples jobs, as the other lady is off sick having chemotherapy. I also have 3 children, who are busy with school exams, rehearsals and sorting costumes for a year 6 play - Bugsy Malone and an irish dancing show, after school clubs and music lessons and today I am looking after my 9 month old niece for the afternoon too, as well as picking up the mother-in-law to bring her to our house for dinner. Phew!!

Anyway, I am still doing well and have had a few school mums comment on my weight loss this week, which gave me a boost. I am going to a wedding in a few weeks too and have been trying to find something to wear. I wanted to get a dress, although haven't worn one for about 16 years I think!! I have ordered this one and I think it is the one Multi Way Maxi Dress Length 52in | Crazy Clearance: I will wear it over both shoulders though like the 3rd picture, so that it can cover my arms a bit. I also ordered this one Waterfall Dress Length 43in | J D Williams: I ordered the 43in length and the 52in. I like the long one and my husband likes the shorter one. I will only keep one, but am not sure which one to keep!

I had another STS last week after a naughty weekend and then a very good week, so I am hoping to do a bit better this week. I am so close to the 13s and had hoped to be there for the wedding. Am keeping my fingers crossed for a good loss this week :)

I love the way so many people on here as so positive. There are lot of posts with people saying they have tried before and are back again, but lots of people seem to be determind this time (me included). They seem to have it right in their heads this time, which I think is a big part of being on this healthy eating plan. They have naughty moments, or nights or weekends, but are then focused enough to go back to the plan, which I think is great. So many people are doing so well :clap:

So enough waffle from me  and I hope you all have a good week and a great next weigh in and xMandyDx, I hope your mouth feels better soon. It sounds very painful.

Yeah it's not better this morning, but hey... it will be soon.
Those dresses are lovely, I'm sure you'll look fab! I actually have a maxi dress that I wear a short cardi with. Short sleeves and only buttoned below the bust... it looks fine. So if you wanted to hide your arms, that'd be the way to go.

It's great when someone notices our weight loss, isn't it? I have to say it's only rarely I notice it myself. Like when I put on something I haven't worn since last summer and it was tight on me then, and loose now. I guess I'm just so used to seeing myself that I don't notice the changes.

Looking forward to WI on Thursday. I was going to go over on my syns last night by a few and have a curly wurly, but thought better of it, since it's my daughter's birthday on Friday (she'll be 12) and I'm sure I'll have a few nibbles of the snacks, and I'm making a lemon cheesecake too, and Lord knows I simply cannot resist that. So I'll be a good girl until Friday, when I will have a few treats in the evening, and then right back on plan Saturday morning, and do some SE days to make up. I'm thinking I might try a few green days as well, mixed up with the SE. All that veg has to be good for something, and I'm absolutely determined to have that stone off as soon as possible so I can buy my new dress. My only fear is that it won't fit me on the boobs. It's one of these "one size fits all" dresses, with the elasticated back...but there are the triangle shaped boob parts in the front, and I'm farrrrrrr from small in that department.
If nothing else, I'll put it on with a cardi lol or a lacy vest top underneath. I'll find a way!!!

I'm still about too but have got into a bad habit of reading posts on my phone and then forgetting to reply later when I get on the puter.

Will post after weigh in as have some interesting news... Well its interesting to me lol

I'm dying to know what it is, now lol

Lol... Don't get your hopes too high

Me too !!!! Roziee its 52mm so not huge but it was 35mm, and he presumes its a dermoid cyst as when they tried the mri i couldn't fit in the machine so they only do an ultrasound on it. He is concerned it may be possibly cancerous but there are no other indicators (I.e elevated markers in my blood)
He's asked me to return in sep to see if I've lost weight and ideally he wants to do the op when I'm below 100kgs (15 st 10lb ish) so I've got a long way to go.
Thank you for all your support it does mean a lot even if I don't always show it.

Roziee correct me if I'm wrong but we are in the "through the stones" thread, are we in the slimming world teams thread cos that might be a way to boost our numbers if we aren't........... Actually I'll go investigate, be back soon

I'm still having problems with my internet connection :cry:It's been driving me crazy, you get online and then get knocked straight off:banghead: tomorrow i have an engineer coming out ,so fingers crossed it will be fixed.Missing my minis fix big time!!!! Wouldn't be so bad but i can't get on as there isnt a bb app.Hopefully i will be back tomorrow.Lost 1.5lbs last week.Hope everyone is well xxx

I just had a lovely phone call from my Consultant. I'm so surprised. She just rang me up to see how I am and how I'm getting on and to remind me to keep chipping away. I told her that I might surprise her with a return to group in the next few weeks as OH hasn't had a call for work in about a week, so the work might have dried up. Nice of them to let him know what's going on!! Not!
I'm delighted now that she phoned me up. That's the sort of Consultant everybody wants, someone who still cares about how you're doing simply because they genuinely befriended you.

It's just spurred me on to do even better now, as if I needed another reason. I want to swish back into group with my stone off. Hehe.

I've been and checked and we aren't in the teams thread (well not the 1st page), girls and roziee is it worth being in that thread (as well) so if someone is searching for a team to join it's a little easier for them to find us, up to you's I'm happy wherever we are.
Well I'm on plan today and any treats I will work into my syns, I will walk into that consulting room considerably lighter in september

Hey Emma, how are you? How's the job hunting going?

Rozie, I'm fine now, apart from a mangled belly button and two red lines lower down. The belly button one was bad though when it was first done. The stitches "migrated" to the outside and at my check-up after the op the surgeon had to slice my skin and pick all those stitches out. It was one of the more horrible moments of my life lol

I wasn't kidding about this past year being awful as far as my health goes. Seems to be one thing after another, to be honest. First it was the appendicitis, then I done my back in (I'm sure you remember that one!) and I had a flu which stuck around for 3 months! Also had the surgery on my cervix, and a million other small things. Right now I'm sitting at home nursing my poor swollen gums. I was a little too eager for the Smash Pizza at the BBQ we had here Saturday gone, and burned the mouth off myself. It's that little bit of gum behind your front teeth, and just below my bottom front teeth too. Swollen, red and bleeds if I touch it! Can't even brush my teeth, but have been using antiseptic mouth wash. Hoping I wake up tomorrow and it's gone. I also still have that damn kidney infection, so I'm giving up the ghost and going to the doctor this week for some antibiotics.

LOL if I were a horse, I'd be put down!

Mandy go to the doctors ASAP! Why haven't you been already silly billy! Kidney infections can be dangerous..

Yes I remember your back...you need to go see an endocrinologist- they're infection specialist so if youve been I'll alot I'd suggest asking your doctor to be referred... Horrible being I'll all the time.. I've had my fair share too..

Hello darling,

Wow so busy! I completely understand working doing two peoples jobs.. When I was in my previous job I was doing it for 3, with 3 people's load and targets ( it was a sales role) was incredibly busy!

Dress is lovely :)

They must have some smallllll MRI because I had one done just a few weeks ago at 19 stones + and it was a very very very tight squeeze but they managed to do it.. Ask for it to be done elsewhere.. I had one done privately and NHS and it was ok. It was horrible but I got it done.. Plus I wouldn't have thought they needed you to be fully in the tunnel if it's just your pelvis? Doctors are silly sometimes!

Oh no Hun, if there are markers in your bloods should he not be operating now? It's not as if you're that bad so can they not do anything? If not, lets do this and get you better! What help do you need to do this Ellen? Seriously, I will personally make sure you lose weight if you want my help x

I'm on th sick hun so job hunting doesn't exist gotta have a medical before they'll give me any money which i'll probs fail coz think nearly everybody does lol i'll get there tho xx

Ooooh we have a new home...

Well the 'big news' ....A while ago I went to a bridal shop to try on so dresses, including the one I've been using as my 'thinspiration' and unbelievably even in a 22 it looked fab and I knew it was the one. Anyway, they wanted about a grand and a half (that's WITH the 20% discount cos the were having an event).

As much as I loved the dress, I couldn't justify that much money and had planned to get it made by a lady off the Internet and it was going to cost about £300.

Right, so popped on Facebook earlier today and the bridal shop having a sale... And 'my' dress is there for £650... It's obviously more than the Internet one but will have a better resale value and I know what I'm getting. OH said we can't afford it and I was gutted but thought I'd ask what size it was in and if they would do a payment plan with it being a sale dress. Well they get back to me and its a 14, the size I was looking to get to (or smaller-corseted back!) anyway... they also said they would do a payment plan over 6 months and a deposit of 100 would secure it, so called my parents... The deposit has been paid!

To say I'm excited is an understatement! Went to give her a cuddle on Monday and there we some issues with the dress but been in again today and they are being sorted. I have a dress, I have a dress... just need to lose the weight...got no choice now lol

Currently a size 20 btw

That is great incentive Ellen83 and definitely do-able. I am really pleased for you :)

I will add u onto the list ( its on the first page of this thread) whenever u report a loss PM me and I'll update your stats... Looking forward in hearing How u get on...

Girls..? I just went to pee and it looks like I've started my period--- but I've only just finished a week or so ago.. Now my periods have been 5-6 weeks regularly now. I have PCOS and it looks like they are getting better and when I was younger I have had periods like us but not for a long time. Would I be worried? I'm gonna see how long it lasts and if it happens again. If it does, I'll go back to the doctor. I was scared that my labial wound had reopened but it was clotty slightly so definitely not that..
