The shrinking violets official thread - Team 1

You didn't eat that much Kel. I've seen worse. Hardly enough calories there to keep you going, without your packs! Don't worry you'll be fine once you are a different routine.

Thanks Hun, Well I have lost 3lb, Not that great at all but its a loss so 12.5lb..
Must try harder for next week, wont be on for a few days so will post as soon as I can..

Have a fab bank holiday weekend guys........

xx

Hi, had a lovely BH and today I made a decision to stop phaffing around and finish this job.

I decided today that I am going to get to my goal weight of 9 and a half stone on 30th June 2010. That's one and half stone to lose in two months. Sorted! LOL! Weigh in tomorrow and I have had a pretty good week. I have broken my little choccie habit. Had one cream egg last Wednesday and that is all.

I am going to do this. It will have been 2 years on a diet at the end of June. Enough is enough now. I am looking forward to going up the plans s-l-o-w-l-y and introducing fruit and healthy food and getting on with my life. I think I've got the picture now LOL!

Hope everyone is having a good week and feeling motivated now we're getting lighter evenings and some sumshine.

Only managed a lb off this week which means I have exactly a stone and a half, including my 'squatter lbs,' to lose by June 30th.

Hmmm just updated my ticker. 64lbs lost doesn't look quite as good as 77lbs lost (before I 'updated' it!). But it needs to be done. A reality check. This is it now. It will only go downwards.

Anyone coming with me? 21 lbs by June 30th!

Good luck Frances! You did it before and you can do it again!

I am eagerly awaiting September or hoping that my finances improve so that I can get back on CD. I'm managing to maintain at the moment but once my exams are over at the end of May, I'm going to start trying to lose a bit ready for September. I have 4 months off uni so to go back a little bit lighter would be awesome.

Keep at it everyone!!! xxx

And you will. Just think what you can do in four months, Gem, with or without CD. Just making a few small changes to your diet, post-exams, and walking briskly every day would all add up to a lot in four whole months. It's great to have a goal date like that. Every night, before you go to sleep, just visualise yourself walking to your first class in September looking great and feeling pleased with yourself.

Also, if you want big results, maybe check out this Dukan diet (it was featured in the Daily Mail so try their website as it gave you the whole diet practically). Noticed someone on here tried it for a week and lost 8 lbs!

I'm drinking water and staying positive. Can't wait to start changing those confused and grumpy faces below to smiley faces!

Hiya girls,

Sorry haven't been around much been busy, been crap too with the diet, I have 3 weeks of tetras that run outta date end of the month so really wanna crack but struggling big time I'm afraid.
Aww my mate had her twin boys on Tuesday they are so gorgeous I will post a photo. I helped with their first bath on Thursday. Loved every minute.

I have an iPhone now so it's so easier to post, my nokia n97 didn't like this forum for some reason, gonna sell that to 1 of them cash for mobile sites , anyone tried then b4? X

I went on money savingexpert as he has a mobile comparison thingy but looked on the reviews & the top site fo my phone has crap reviews so not sure who to go with.. Will have to do a bit of research thanks for that hun..

Well I have to go to Stockport for work on Sunday (I live no where near it) for 4 days to basically see how the dealership works down there, I am sh*tting myself, not driving as still not as confident since my accident so going on the train, gonna be so boring just working then going back to a room by myself, work are paying for it, bit pissed off actually as I am on CD this week so next week with work paying for the hotel well it could be a travelodge not sure yet the meals will be free too so what do I do take some packs or just eat healthy????
I am gonna miss Keith I know its not long but never been away from him this long before... :(

How is everyone?? xx

I'm good. Is this your new job then Kel, Travelodge thrown in. Didn't realise it was such a lifestyle change. Does that mean you will only be home for the weekends? How long does it take to drive to Stockport?? You can't complain if they are putting you up. I suppose I would probably take my packs for breakfast and lunch and eat the evening meal?
F

Yeah Kel you could get away with making sensible food choices I guess and do as Frances says with 2 packs a day and the evening meal?

I may have found a saving grace! Exante. £25 a week (I currently spend £20 a week on food) and it seems to be exactly like CD with similar losses too. I'm going to have a word with Mike (it's his money) and if he agrees, then I will start it on 31st May which means I could be 4st lighter by the time I go back to uni. That would be so fantastic!!!

Now going off to check out our finances! x

Two packs and a low-carb evening meal really gives you a good routine. I've heard of Exante and heard that it very similar to CD. Also, don't forget to check out Tesco's own brand of meal replacement drinks. They do strawberry and chocolate tetra-like drinks (about 89p each)-- the only difference is that you can't sole source with them, but you wouldn't be. If they were doing a 3 for the price of 2 offer you would really be able to get the cost down as I reckon Exante will charge a whack for postage. And, as far as I remember you lived on the chocolate tetras anyway! Asda do them too.

Sounds like a plan is forming. All you need now is to book that holiday lol! But you already have a mini goal date -- looking good and feeling great first day back in Sept! Good luck.

Thanks Frances!

I had a chat with Mike and I should be able to start Exante as soon as my tax rebate comes through which will be June sometime.

I really need to do something Sole Source as I can't stop myself boredom/emotional eating at the moment. I need to take food out of the equation for a while. I did check out the Tesco ones but I decided against them as I knew I would end up just eating and eating and eating and therefore wasting my money so just trying to make better food choices for now.

I can't wait to get back on the Sole Source wagon! The good part about Exante is no counsellor and it's delivered to your door. Although I still might switch to Cambridge in September purely to have a counsellor. The lady I switched to over here was lovely and so motivational so I would like to keep seeing her so that I can get to goal and stay there! She has maintained for years now and she looks fantastic!

I'm feeling so poorly lately. It's been over a week and I still feel rubbish. I have a cold but I feel so washed out and exhausted. I haven't been out of the house in a week but I have a meeting at uni tomorrow to choose my modules for next year so that will get me some fresh air. Hoping that a day of just getting dressed properly and getting out will have the desired effect! x

I have just put my new 'before' pictures in my album. New start and all that. As you can see, I am practically back to where I started!!! Only 1st away from my original starting weight back in August 2008.

Forgot about your cold. But you are right, getting out and about will make you feel better.

It's funny how a certain photo just triggers it for you. Here's the one that did it for me!

One stone is still a very good head start to have, and you have learned so much about how vlcd work, coping mechanisms and how they can deliver results. I too am getting rid of squatter lbs so know how frustrating it feels but know also that this time they are gone for good. I am so convinced that I have got it now, how it is so much easier to zap a lb or two rather than a stone or two!

You look like a different person now Frances!!!

I just can't wait to get started. I know I keep saying it but at least it's looking closer than it was. Just waiting on the tax rebate. I'm trying to swap my nibbles for fruit now. I think if I can kill a few bad habits, I am halfway there :) x

That's a good sign! It's great that you are raring to go. Make sure you weigh yourself now because anything you do now while you are so keen will all count! This is going to be your golden time, I know it.

Aww no! Do you know why?

Yep I have weighed - I'm keeping an eye on it to make sure I don't creep back up to my original start weight!

TOTM just arrived which explains why it has taken me so long to recover from being poorly. I feel much better today.

Where is everyone else? xxx
