Hi guys, just back from my weigh in. Lost 3lbs! Nice to see my ticker past the half way mark at last! Decided it is just too cold for shakes, so I now have hot chocolate mint for lunch. Gonna try half a chocolate tetra topped up with hot water too. I always felt they were too rich and if I like half with hot water that will give me two drinks for the price of one!

Hope you're all managing to keep warm. Off to have my porridge! Must admit, I think this diet is slighty easier in the summer time!

I tried the hot chocolate tetra on holiday. Don't be put off by the colour (it looks like muddy water!!) but I recommend more than half a tetra in it as it is very weak.

Just hopped on the scales and wishing I hadn't. I just want to see the number 17 so badly!!! Never mind. I have still lost a stone this month and that is still a bloody good achievement! And at least I have had a dreaded 1lb week so I will appreciate my 3lb losses more now. It just bugs me because I have followed this diet to the letter. I have not cheated once!!! And there are people out there who are serial cheaters and who have lost more than me!!! (I am of course not referring to anyone in our team-you are all lovely and deserve to succeed!!!) It stinks!!! Some people plan to cheat every week and still lose stacks of weight. Gaaaaaaaa!!! I'm just bitter because I seem to have been stuck in the 18s for ages. Actually, after consulting my card, I can see I have only been in the 18s for 25 days. Just seems like so long!!!
I'm looking in the mirror now and instead of being happy with being smaller, I am starting to feel repulsed by my body again. I really thought I was getting over this and my confidence was growing. I was walking tall and looking at my reflection in shop windows and thinking "Hey, I look so much slimmer!" but now I am avoiding looking and just seeing the rolls of fat that are still clearly visible. I looked at my holiday pictures and thought I looked hideously fat again. My face is still like the moon, my thighs are still thunderous and my backside is still the size of a small country. I'm still wearing a size 24!!! 3 and a half stone down and still in the same size clothes!!!! WHY?!?!

God, I'm sorry. I am feeling really sorry for myself today!!! Ignore me, I shall sit in the corner and quietly curse my cellulite...
 
I think I have just figured out why I only lost 1lb.

I have inadvertently been doing 810 wrong!!! I'm so gutted!!! I just want to pack it in now.

I didn't realise that the weights of the protein are raw weights. I have been having 175g of cooked turkey each day (been having to buy turkey off the deli counter due to being away) and I guess this is way too much!!! I just want to cry. I asked my CDC about meat before I went and she didn't say anything about the weights even after I asked if buying 175g of turkey off the deli counter would be okay. :confused: So miserable. Already been out and bought turkey for lunch too and now it is going to be too much. Any idea how much cooked meat I should be having?? Hopefully if I can get these next 2 days right and then get back on SS on Friday I should have a good loss next Sat!!! xxx
 
Wd frances, congrats on a great week!

Gem -sorry hun not sure about the cooked weight, perhaps post on the main forum see if anyone knows? Please don't be disheartened you can do this and you have achieved so much, although you only lost 1lb this week it has obviously evened itself out as we started at the same time and have had similar results all the way through, if you look at our tickers there is only a lb between us.

Regarding your body i think this is a natural side effect of any diet, eg i didn't actually look at myself when i was bigger, yet not i'm 3 and a half stone lighter i'm SUPER critical of myself. I think we need to learn to feel positive about the steps we are taking to get to goal and realise that you should be feeling proud of yourself as you look totally different to when you started. Imagine how different you will look in a months time, from now on you will really start to see a change. As far as dress sizes go i only started dropping them when i was in the 17's so you have it all to come, be excited hun it WILL happen.

I know and because it is quite restrictive when you aren't losing fast it can be very frustrating, at the end of the day the main reason most of us stick tot his crazy diet is because of the results....when you don't feel like you are getting the results you start to question everything. My cdc suggested i monitor my weight loss over a month rather than weekly due to all of the natural fluctuations which can occur with your body week by week. As long as i am losing a stone or thereabouts a month i'm happy.

On the flipside the scales still haven't moved for me this week, can you copy all of what i spout to you guys when you are down and regurgitate it to me next week if my Wi isn't great lol.

Lol ok hun I will remind you of that!!! I suppose our bodies need time to catch up sometimes. My CDC told me about a lady she sees who has lost 14.5st!!! But one week she gained 6lbs for no reason. I know the lady and she never cheats. It's just our bodies being weird I think lol!

I have lost 1st in October so I am happy. Back to SS on Friday and I can't wait!!! x
 
Poor Gem! Because the thread has been moved out of the main forum I didn't see that you had posted. Just glad that Hayley was around for you when you needed a boost.

Now you listen here. First of all DO NOT WORRY about the blimmin turkey. As a long-term 810/SS Pluser I can assure you that is not why you only lost a l lb this week. Leave a little bit off tomorrow if it makes you feel better, and find a lovely cat who will enjoy it, but I would really say, eat it. You need the protein for your exercise class. It is feeding your muscles. Our bodies cannot store protein, and although there is protein in the packs, really we can't get enough of it. It won't put you out of ketosis and it certainly will not affect your weight losses! I will work out the cooked weights for you, for your next AAMW.

There is no logical reason why you only lost 1 lb. Any more than why you lose 4 or 5 lbs in other weeks. According to my brainy sister, based on the cals we are consuming, we can only ever lose 3lbs of fat in one week. The rest is dictated by water fluctuations. Lack of water in your system when you have a great weight loss can just as easily be affected the other way too. The great thing about the water bit is that it fluctuates and swings wildly. It is why people suddenly lose or gain weight overnight sometimes. The monthly overview is probably more realistic. How do you know your CDC didn't move the scales around during the week? It probably was 2lbs but just didn't show because it was just under. Forget it and look forward to next week.

And you know very well that in the long run you will lose more weight for sticking 100% to the plan. Cheating, treating or lapsing is a very slippery slope and will always end in tears. Your body is not stupid, it is a very complex piece of kit. You are a great inspiration because you don't cheat, and for that reason I am watching you closely because I know you are going to be one of the big successes on this site.

And finally. Look in the mirror at every opportunity and laugh at those rolls of fat you see because their days are numbered! How are you ever going to be able to see the difference in your weight loss if you don't look at them? Take loads of photos because one day you won't be able to remember what the fat rolls even looked like. Your mind will block them out. You need the reminder as you are going to have slim pics for the rest of your life soon!

Still not sorted? You deserve a medal for another week of sticking 100% to CD, don't beat yourself up over a set of lousy scales!

PS I think Hot Chocolate Tetra is GORGEOUS! Totally agree you need the whole tetra as it tastes too watery with half in a large mug. Also quite like a third of Banana tetra in a cup of coffee! It's funny because I was never a fan of the tetras, but have now rediscovered them, as I cannot take cold shakes in this cold weather. That's me sorted for the winter -- porridge/hot tetra or Choc Mint shake/ and a lovely bar! There'll be no stopping me now!

I have decided to get back to SS tomorrow as I want to get back into ASAP. Only missing one day off 810 so I'm sure that won't hurt.

I can definitely see a difference even you can't! In that second one you look good, like someone who is just carrying a few extra pounds as they say! And as for thinking you have a moon face, look again at the last photo. You would not think from that photo that you were 17/18 stone, you really would not. Look really closely at it, girl. There is no nice way of putting this, but actually, your OH, LOVELY as he is, has actually got a slightly bigger face area in this photo than you! So there! (Just don't tell him I said that OK?!).

Hi all not getting weighed until next week now, had to cancel my appointment last night problem with the car.

Just wondered if anyone else weighs differently on their scales than on their CDC? I don't really pay attention to what they say just what the loss is, but I do know that when I weighed myself at LL I was happy at 13 on my scales, I always weighed myself first thing so I know I have to add the 2lbs for the evening but currently on my scales I'm around 14.3-4 which is great, then I add 2 for evening and 4 to get to my CDC Scales - 4lbs is a big difference but like I said the same weight is being lost so thats cool with me!! It's good that it means I've only really got to lose another 20lbs really to get to where I want to be on my scales and then anything over that is a bonus!

I'm off to roller derby on Saturday got my lift sorted. Really excited but nervous too!! Keep wanting to sing Xanadu!!

lol Helen!!!

i don't know what's going on with my scales. i can get on them, then weigh myself again straight after and there be 7lbs difference!!! i try to take what they say with a pinch of salt. annoys me though as they are brand new!!!! they are totally different to my CDC's scales. i try to use my mum's scales when i am round there as there is only 1lb difference between hers and my CDC's lol x
 
Are they digital scales you have Gem? I have some and they are the same. If I get on five times in a row I will get five different weights! Trying to find out how much it costs to get some decent scales, like CDCs use maybe, that don't mess with your head like that!
 
yeah they are Tescos digital ones. i should have known better to be honest! think i am just gonna do a test on weigh day and see what the difference is.

i try not to take much notice of them to be honest but i do hop on every so often lol x

signed up for the archaeology a level and i should get my stuff soon yay!!! x
 
Oh yay!!! Just checked my BMI and I am no longer Very Obese!!! I am now Obese. BMI 39.9 I mean I'm only just into it but I am out of the 40s!!! WOOHOO!!! :party0011:
