    Preventative things like Psyllium husks add fibre and are OK. You can get them in capsule form from Holland and Barrett and take them three times a day with lots of water.

    Cures such as Dulcolax and Sennakot are fine to alleviate immediate problems but you shouldn't make a habit of using them too often as they can make the bowel lazy.

    Yeah laxatives are not a good idea lest you end up with IBS...

    put it this way you'll never need to worry about infrequency... when you go 10 times a day, throughout day and night :(
