...but it keeps us chatting! :blahblah:

What do you currently do for work? What will you do in the future, and what would you do in an ideal world?!!

As I'm facing redundancy in the summer, I have been considering my future lately, and have decided to take the bull by the horns and start some training in holistic therapies. I have always worked in offices of some descreption (am currently a training manager) but am soooo fed up that I want a complete change! :banghead:

Just wondering if anyone else has something they would like to be doing rather than what they are currently doing?!

Agh I just replied to this and whatever I pressed on the laptop keyboard, my message disappeared without a trace !! Don't you just hate it when that happens?????:(

I was saying that your question is interesting Nat! I thought also about your suggestion of de-stressing, and today I picked up a leaflet in town that had a special offer on a De-stress package. It was an indian head massage, reflexology and aromatherapy for £40. I don't know what any of it really is, apart from aromatherapy and also whether this is good value?? Anyway, I think I'll have a go soon when I get a chance!

Regarding your last question, well I sometimes think it might be nice to be somewhere more exciting than watching Connor's favourite Teletubbies DVD 6 million times!!!!! But then I remember when I got all dressed up and went out to a restaurant with a group of girls on my birthday last year, and even though I sort of enjoyed it, I missed him, and couldn't wait to get home to kiss his little cheek in the cot. So in reality, I am where I want to be even though I might moan about it sometimes lol

I think when he is a bit older I will get back to my 'writing' and try to get some more work published! Procrastination is my middle name when it comes to it. :(

I don't know what holistic therapies are, but I think you should go for it!!! xx

thats great. i was saying to my bf the other day how somtimes u put things off until ur forced into a situation when u have to decide what to do...

this case loosing ur job is making u follow a path thats more suited to u. i really wish u all the luck in the world for ur new path.

im a teacher and i have no idea what i would like to do if i didnt teach... dont think i can do anything :S

Hey Carla, that is a good package, and I think you could do with it at the mo ;) go treat yourself! In fact, holistic therapies encompasses all those things, it's just another term for alternative medicine really. At the moment I fancy hand and foot reflexology and accupuncture. I have already signed up for a Japanese hand massage course as a starting point. I don't know how long it will take me before I can do this full time, but at least I am getting off my ar$e and doing something now, instead of just thinking about it! And yes Pree, you're right about it taking something to happen before you see the light. Shame really, as with hindsight I wish I had done something similar from when I left school, instead of wasting time in Uni getting a degree I have never used, lol!

You're lucky that you have teaching, at least that's a vocation, I have just drifted for 11 years, never really being happy with anything. I hope this is the right path I am choosing now, I can only but try eh?!

I'm currently a student (studying molecular biology and genetics) working part time as a pharmacy dispenser. Ideal job would be as a hospital doctor, specialising in tropical diseases. Or failing that a chef in my own restaurant as I love cooking!

Hey all, I'm a civil servant - to be exact a policy advisor at the DWP.
And I'm going to be sad but it's my ideal job!!;)
