Water Challenge - who wants to join me?

Just thought I should warn people that too much water can cause brain damage or can even be fatal. There has been a couple of stories in the news over the past year relating. Drinking more is great but I am concerned that some of you might get carried away! ^_^

Apparently it is safe to drink lots as long as you drink it over a period of time and not altogether.

Oh, and it doesn't have to be plain water - the water in all drinks including tea and coffee plus the water content in food also goes towards.

According to About.com:
The kidneys of a healthy adult can process fifteen liters of water a day! You are unlikely to suffer from water intoxication, even if you drink a lot of water, as long as you drink over time as opposed to intaking an enormous volume at one time. As a general guideline, most adults need about three quarts of fluid each day. Much of that water comes from food, so 8-12 eight ounce glasses a day is a common recommended intake. You may need more water if the weather is very warm or very dry, if you are exercising, or if you are taking certain medications. The bottom line is this: it's possible to drink too much water, but unless you are running a marathon or an infant, water intoxication is a very uncommon condition.

Safe drinking everyone! :waterbottle::waterbottle::waterbottle:

You have to put away seeeeerious amounts of water for it to be dangerous! Most of us don't get anywhere near it. But it's something to be aware of, so that's a good thing :)

I need to drink some more today, not had much yet and I've been exercising! Need more!
