Donner Kebab

Ingredients

500g 5% Beef Mince (or you could use lamb lean mince)
1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
1/2 teaspoon Dried Thyme
1 small finely chopped onion (or you can use 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt (or 2 teaspoon minced/crushed Garlic)
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning

Directions
1)Put all the herbs and spice required amounts into a small bowl.
2)Seperate the mince into a large bowl sprinkle over the contents of herbs ect from the small bowl.
3)Chop the small onion finely and add to a food processor blitz well(if you don't have one just cut it as fine as you can)
then add the meat mixture and blitz well again.
4)Get all the meat mixture out and form a loaf shape on to a plate and cover with foil and put in fridge until ready to cook.
Best to leave it at least an hour or 2 so the spices and herbs can do their stuff!

If you don't have a food processor... knead the mixture until it's smooth and has no air pockets.

Preheat your oven to around 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4

When your ready to cook place the loaf on a wire rack on a baking tray to catch any fat. Cook for around 45-60 minutes
turning over half way through.

Once cooked remove from the oven place on a plate, cover with foil and leave for 10 minutes to stand. Then cut as finely as you can.

Wow this looks delicious can I have the recipe please!

Hi seen a lot about dinner recipes and just wounded about lean lamb mince?

Is is it Free?

where do you buy it from?

thanks

If it's 5% or less than yes it's free... it's not easy to find though I think I've seen other people mention they've had it from Tesco or Sainsburys.
It's not cheap though...a lot of people said they just ask a butcher to mince lamb steaks for them but again that won't be cheap for 1lb of mince.

It is real nice with the beef though :)

Tea for me tonight is
Leftover Cold Chicken & Salad - Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber, Hard Boiled Egg, Sweetcorn, Spring Onions, Pickled Onions, Beetroot, Jacket Potato. Homemade Coleslaw made with White & Red Cabbage, Onion and Carrot (Lighter than Light Mayo - 1/2 syn per level tbsp) and Fat Free Fromage Frais

Thanks! I kind of made it up as I went along but it was reeally easy. I finely diced a few onions, mushrooms and lean bacon and frylighted with some crushed garlic and mixed herbs, once they were cooked I added 250g of aborio rice and a glass of white wine (about 125ml), simmered for a minute or so and then added about 600ml of chicken stock in total, but I added it slowly and kept stirring regularly. Once the rice was cooked I added a 5 laughing cow light triangles, 42g mozarella and 60g grated cheddar and stirred until melted! Divided into 4 portions it was 1 healthy extra plus a few syns for the wine! :)

Curry!
