so looking at the difference between white and brown rice i would say that brown is the better one for you - i dont have a clue what that tv programme i watched was on about. It was on market kitchen, uktv food.

Dinner was so nice!

It was so good to have rice again, heck I even like it plain :)
I had to edit my menu again. I had to change the amount of peppers I used, I boiled them for too long and they came out soggy, I ate 1 slice of it which weighed around 5-10g. And I used less Yoghurt because I was getting scared about the amount of calories I was eating.

I am still not exercising enough, so I have bought a toner today from Avon, just one of these things you put your feet in and pull. Tummy toner, and I intend to start my walk of 3 miles every day after the holidays.

Yasmine, the higher calories from uncooked rice will come from the fact that it weighs less before being cooked, while cooking it swells up with water, hence the calories.

4oz of uncooked rice might weigh 8oz after being boiled, so I think you are right to weigh the cooked rice.

That's why I weighed it. Because rice expands and stuff, like you already explained :).

Better safe than sorry :p
 
Rice

The rice does swell up but only with water so why would it be higher in calories after cooking.?
 
Higher calories raw as your 4 oz raw would be more than 4oz cooked. If you put 4oz of cooked rice on your plate, it would be 2oz raw weight, but 4oz raw weight would be about 8oz on your plate after cooking. Same calories in the rice itself, but just too much to eat.
 
Went for my weigh in today and I am gobsmacked.

Bought another bikini today! LOL

Things really are picking up!
