    Hairy Dieters?

Made the minestrone soup with a few adjustments (I have two small kids, no way to I have time to peel & deseed tomatoes) and it was lush. Even took some out with me today & was gat after a morning in the woods with the boys. Doesn't surprise me with the two of them being uber foodies.

What sort of foods are you looking for? Sometimes you have to go into the serving size menu to select the gram measurements from the options. I cook from scratch a lot of the time & the recipe calculator has been fantastic.

    Who have you told?

Just wondering, who have you told you're on a diet? Or do you tell everyone? When I started it took my other half a week to notice I was weighing my food before he asked what I was doing? My sister know because she came to stay & I told one other friend because I didn't want to appear rude when...

Who are you losing weight for?

I've got two boys to run after & I want to be keeping up with them as they grow up. I think the point where I'd really like to get to is to be fit enough to start going on long cycle trips again. Would love to have the strength & stamina to take them out in one of those bike trailer things but I...

    Dumbbell exercises??

Nevermind, I found some on Your Shape Fitness Evolved that will keep me going for a long while.
  19. katbroon

    Why is it that.....

Thanks hun. Not why he thinks that bringing home junk is something I'd appreciate. Now taking the boys out to the park for an hour or twos peace & quiet, that would be a treat I'd appreciate ;-)

    So annoyed :-(

Never mind the weight loss or gain. The important bit is getting the bug out of your system & you getting back to full health. Take it easy & be kind to yourself

    Why is it that.....

My other half thinks the way to cheer me up after a week of baby-teething-induced sleep depravation is to order a pizza from Domino's without asking me? Then he gets all put out when I tell him that's not exactly helpful. Ho hum

    Dumbbell exercises??

Old one of you lovely lot please point me in the direction of where I can find some exercises using dumbbells online? Would rather go with a recommendation than a random google search. Thanks

Wii or Xbox Kinext fitness games

Forgot to say my OH is a tad excited about the Nike+ Kinect training coming out, even though YSFE gets him out of breath (and he's the annoying skinny bloke who can eat a packet of biscuits at a time without a second thought).

Wii or Xbox Kinext fitness games

I've been using YSFE 2012 for the past few weeks to and considering I'm stuck home at night with my sleeping boys while my OH is at work it's suiting me down to the ground. Really like the cardio boxing too. About to start learning the second routine. Not sure about some of the more dancy based...

    Pregnancy exercise

Congratulations Fiona! It may not burn huge amounts of calories yoga can be beneficial in pregnancy and if there's not a class near you there are quite a few DVDs about. There's probably some on YouTube as well. All the best with your pregnancy.

    Help!!

You need to take it slowly at least until your lochia stops. As said above going for walk most days is a great start. Not sure where abouts you are but pram fit classes have become quite popular in the past few years (sites like Netmums will likely list any in your local area). If you have a...

    Late period

1000 calories is a lot to drop so could well affect your cycle but I'd skip buying another test and go straight to your GP and ask for a blood test just to be sure.

I think im going to calorie count...

Hi Roziee, I'm new to the forum & just started calorie counting using MFP last week after taking along hard look at SW. I've had a few friends who'd been really successful with it but in the end I decided CC suited my needs better. I need to control my portion sizes, stop myself eating for...

New to CC, whats the best app to track calories?

Definitely agree about MyFitnessPal. It's almost too easy - the database is huge, the barcode scanner is fab and then for those of us who live to cook from scratch the recipe calculator works out the calories per portion.

Another woodwind player over here - sax & flute. Not played properly in around a year (pregnancy play havoc with trying to blow properly) but itching to get back to it soon. Now if someone could just add a few hours to my day so I could fit it in. Nick, let me know if you get that gig in...

    Newbie :)

He's now just short of 10 months and my eldest will be five in December. I've a lot of weight to lose so right now I'm trying to focus on cutting my portion sizes and upping my exercise levels. Not so easy when my other half works rubbish shifts so most nights I'm in with the boys sleeping but I...

    Newbie :)

Hi folks, proper newbie to the forum here :-) I downloaded My Fitness Pal at the beginning of the week (I'm katbroon on there too and pretty much everywhere else). Starting out slowly while still nursing my son but I've started, that's the important thing.
