2 week challenge anyone starting 8th may?

Hey ladies! Had an awful lot going on and the OH has been off so haven't had a chance to breathe let alone anything else!

I pm'd fearless about 3 days ago and have hears nothing back :-( I really hope she is ok.

Cheryl the house is lovely! I've so got my fingers crossed for you!

Claz you seem to be doing well, I like your posts they make me smile!

Chalky well for for staying strong! I couldn't have done it!

Well after many a failed day I have decided that it's time for me to tweak Cambridge to work for me to get through the summer months, I find it so bloody difficult to diet in the summer and basically I suck at sticking to it! So I am now having two Cambridge products a day (also cuts down on money which is good atm!) and a meal, including the Cambridge shakes I am allowing myself 1000 calories a day, trying to keep the meal low carb, high veg and protein. I know that my weight loss is going to slow down massively but right now I'm actually ok with that, I've joined a gum within walking distance of my house so am pushing forward with low calorie eating and exercise. I feel as though my family's way of eating has changed massively since i've been on CD and that I can succeed in what I am setting out to do. Come the winter months if I am throughly fed up with the way I look or am feeling that I would like to lose some more quite quickly then I will go back to sole source am staying under my consultant so shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Just wanted to share! What are people's opinions?

hi emma :)
i think u r doing what u need to do.
if u have to do 1000 calorie plan or fall off the wagon and walk away from cambridge altogether ( which i know from past experience u would regret big time ) then u r doing the right thing.
i also find the summer months much harder than the cooler months.
day trips, bbqs, ice cream vans, the list is endless for the added summer temptations.
i would do 1000 calorie plan myself right now if i didnt have a pressuring time scale (the wedding in october) to aim for.
my mum, sister and aunt are joining sw next week which is going to add more pressure as if they lose more than i do on cd (since i keep falling off the wagon:eek:) i know i will end up thinking 'wouldnt i be better off doing sw and eating as much as i want to' but the fact is i will be nowhere near where i want to be on october if i do sw.
so i need to get back on track (seem to be saying that far too much recently) and get decent losses to better what they get on sw.
time to prove that cd is the best :D

What are people's opinions?

Hi Emma, you have obviously thought this through and so I think you should go with what you think is realistic and achievable for you.

I think it's good that you are staying under your CDC as the link and support they can give you is maintained.

Cheryl, what fabulous motivation for you. I think I would try to look at it as a positive thing and really gear up to prove your point, not just to them, but to yourself as well.

For me, at the moment I am so in awe of how much weight I have lost already and knowing that if I can stick 100% to the plan I can get there even more quickly than I thought two weeks ago, that that is motivational enough in itself. When the honeymoon period has worn off, I intend (i know, i know, the road to he'll, blah blah ;)) is to try and take it one day at a time and say to myself "I CAN do this today". Hopefully I am on a very long (and expensive) honeymoon to the Seychelles!!!!

Weigh in today. Lost 3 lb. Not happy. it's amazing the difference another half pound would have made!

Ah, Chalky, so sorry you didn't make that last half pound. :sigh: Keep it up though, you're doing so well.

Not sure what to post my loss at this week. If I go by my scales, I have lost 6lb, but I know by my CDC's scales I will have lost 9lb. Hmmmmm, what do you think?

Cheryl, how did the viewing go. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Emma, how have things been for you the past couple of days?

C x

That's a no-brainer - definately 9lbs!!!!

I have no weigh-in now until next Thursday. Barring a disaster that should get me through the next 2 milestones - the 1 stone mark and also take me to 13 stone something...
Only thing in my way is this pesky bank holiday weekend!!!!

I resisted the temptation to get bars today. I know that once i start chewing I am not going to want to stop.

That's right - aim high!

I'm in two minds about the bars now. My official weigh-in is Weds, and I was looking forward to the added variety that the bars would give. However, i have read that they can affect weight loss as they are higher in carbs than the shakes and soups and I noticed that they have approx 40 cals more as well . The whole solid food/chewing thing worries me too.

The other benefit is that they are more portable than the shakes (my CDC doesn't stock the tetras). My DD has a country dance thing on Friday at Plumpton Racecourse and they want parents to be there from 12.00. It would be so much easier to have a bar to nibble on (or, let's face it, snarf the whole lot in 2 seconds :eatdrink023:) as fitting lunch in is going to be tricky.

I tried the bars and liked them but my weight loss in them was minimal! Kinda lost it on my new plan yesterday but have counteracted it today by keeping very low calorie! Today have had two. Scrambled egg on a slice of toast and a few wotsits food wise and a choc mint shake Cambridge wise will have another shake later so today have kept it to about 600 calories to make up for the 400 I went over yesterday as was out all day! Off to thy gym later as well to work some off! Going to try it this way for a couple of weeks if it really doesn't work for me and u have more bad days than good then I'll give 810 another go! Just can't stomach the official Cambridge 1000 plan! Hope you are all well and well dine on weight loss!

hi girls,
well done on the weight losses.
clazz, definately go with the 9lbs :D
chalky, 3lbs is a great loss hun. tell me another diet where u can lose an average of 3lbs a week huh
i, however, suck big time. off the wagon again with a crash :(.
showing a 4lbs gain and only have intil thursday to amend that . im so stupid sometimes. now all i feel is depressed, was it worth it..... hell no.
i think ive made a decision.... my mum, sister and aunt are all starting sw on thursday..... so, ive been thinking long and hard (and tormenting myself with the 'leave cd and do sw and lose 1lb a week which is all im losing right now anyway cause i keep messing cd up'.
however, i DONT want to leave cd. i know it works and it works well.... when I work it well. this isnt cd that has a problem. it is me
so, im thinking of coming off plan (not in ketosis anyway thanks to bingeing) but only until thursday.
then starting again on thursday (same day as they start sw) and looking at it as day 1 , then give myself 4 weeks to prove i CAN lose more weight on cd than on sw.
i could cry right now.
feeling pretty damn useless to be honest. :(

on the house front: went to view the house. love it but im not sure it is big enough downstairs. need to do some measurements and compare.

Oh Cheryl... Hunny if you feel as though the support of others whilst they're dieting will help you then go for it. Come off plan until Thursday just make sure you're sensible in the meantime, no binge! I am with you right now on your feelings about CD at times I feel like a right failure :-( but we can support each other and lose weight together in any way that works best for us xxx

Morning ladies!

Cheryl - how are things going for you? Good luck with your revised plan. I hope you're gathering your strength for getting back on SS on Thursday. I guess there was no response from Fearless!

Emma - how are you doing? Is your revised plan working OK for you? I hope so!

My scales have shown the same weight for the past three mornings, despite being 100%. :( Note to self, must stop obsessing about scales.

Stay strong and positive.

good afternoon ladies. hope ur both well (seems to be just the 3 of us for the time being ) no reply from fearless im afraid. :sigh:
emma as much as we feel like failures (and i truely do) i do believe that the day we fail is when we stop trying. THATS a failure.
i am trying to be careful what i eat from now until thursday. i know im going to gain as im showing 4lbs gain on my scales but i need a fresh new start.
as far as im concerned thursday will be my day 1 of my brand new diet. god, i hope this works. (fingers crossed)
clazz im very much a scale hopper myself too, sometimes up to 4 times a day .
u know urself that if ur 100% (hangs head in shame) this diet IS working, where the lbs may hang on for up to 5 days they will drop suddenly AND u will be losing weight and inches regardless and thats what really counts. :)
went to the doctors this morning for my ever increasing knee problems. i have chronic osteo arthritus in my knees but my right knee is now full of fluid and because of how tender it is she suspects something not good is going on deep in the knee itself (i now have constant red hot pain deep in the kneecap and twice my kneecap has moved out of position completely recently). so she is sending me to a muscular skeletal specialist.
i was diagnosed with tendonitus in my heel a few months ago as well as i get terrible pain and tenderness in my right heel ( i was convinced i was getting arthritus there as well since i already have it in ankles, knees, hips, wrists, fingers and one shoulder:rolleyes:) but as it hasnt gotten any better she had a look and now says it is Plantar Fasciits and so has changed some meds. i am always buying my grandson rattles and i should really just get him to shake me . i would rattle with all the meds i take. lol

Hi there

Another day down and stuck 100%, but I have been hungry today. Official weigh-in tomorrow, so I hope the scales shift (just a little bit more would be nice).

Chalkywinkle - I hope things are going well with you.

Cheryl - good news that the problem with your feet can be resolved. Osteoarthritis is tough to live with when it affects so many of your joints. Good luck with the specialist - I hope you don't have to wait too long for an appt.

Take care people.

Hmmm aches and pains all round then cheryl!

Well I have been a prize idiot :-( lost it totally on my new plan (have still been calorie counting but I keep going over) I clearly have so much work to do :-( had to renew my gym contract so couldn't even go and work it off :-( problem is that I'm no where near as desperate as I was and my fear of putting that weight back on has convinced me that I'm going to fail and eat everything in sight so i've been eating, I was ok before but now it's just all over the place. Got weigh in today so am just going to be honest and tell her how much I've struggled because my scales are showing a pound on from when I weighed two weeks ago. I found 810 quite easy to stick to, maybe that's the way to go for me?!

Well, I let you know how weigh in goes it's at 11am so likely hood is I'll put in another half a pound in liquids before then!!!

Emma

Hi Emma

Fingers crossed for your weigh in. Sounds like 810 might be the right plan for you. If you've only put on 1lb then at least it's not too much damage.

My weight has stayed the same for another day, so I'm hoping it's just water retention and that I'll drop a few pounds soon.

Still finding it OK on the whole, but I was hungry yesterday afternoon and evening. I think it was probably having to prepare supper for kids that made me hungry as it smelt soooooo good. I managed to hold out though.

Take care.

Well... I lost 2 ounces! Lol lost about an inch and a half and put half an inch on round my chest. So... Not too bad! X

A loss is a loss........and so much better than the gain you had anticipated. The measurements are interesting, TOTM perhaps?

C x

awesome emma, well done.
it isnt easy to 'eat' and lose weight , let alone incorporating it with cd.
u know where u went wrong last week.
have u made a decision whether to go back to 810 or stick with 1000 yet?
either way will work if u work with it. :)
im preparing myself for a gain tomorrow although im trying to think of it as not a gain.... its day 1 tomorrow after all so potentially tomorrow is my starting weight :D
