A moan about tasters!

That is SO annoying MinkyDinky, I'd be really frustrated too!! Yeah our scan bran taster session on Thursday night went really well actually, lots of variety in the uses of scan bran and then a few dishes that didn't involve it as well which was nice! :)

And then another taster session again for next week, this time a normal one, in aid of bonfire night :) I love taster sessions, yummmm

Oooh a scan bran sesh, what were the best/worst ones? Might be worth making something up and taking in just for people to try so they aren't so scared of it! :D near on everyone turns their noses up in our group but like no one has tried it! Ha ha!

Lol you should make something and not tell anyone what's in it until they have eaten it, they may be pleasantly surprised ( or not) haha

Yes they definitely turn their noses up at it, I like it! I honestly loved everything... there was scan bran related: carrot cake, trifle, scotch eggs, tuna on scan bran, ferrero roches and a few more that I can't remember. So quite a variety of uses for it :)

I've just been looking at the thread from MrsWilsoncroft s w site published her recipe for a scan bran cake. It looks delicious I just cant find the thread now to comment lol. I looked in the off topic but must be missing it.

Its a curlywurly scan bran cake yummy

Was on holiday last week, only found out about our taster session last night on facebook when consultant reminded everyone, rushed about and got something sorted to take in.

Get in today and I was the only one who took something in, not impressed and not doing it again.

I went to my first session last night and it was a taster session. I felt really bad, I had no idea that everyone was bringing stuff so I didn't taste anything except a scan bran ferrero rocher because I was pretty much made to (delicious but dangerous!!). I am already thinking about what i'll take next time. Possibly falafel and sweet potato hummus because they're free and really yummy.

Happened to me last week. Don't let it dishearten you, I'm still going to do it because I like sharing with others and trying to give good alternatives for meals. Maybe make a small post about it in your Facebook group? Xx

Its every two weeks at the minute which I, for one, can do without

I've got taster tonight, about 8 or 9 people stayed to class last week so i am not going to go overboard. I've made a strawberry roulade - hopefully everyone will try/like it. Our leader did say it was winter warmers but i'm sure it will do.

Update...got weighed and my boyfriend brought the quiche :) we had loads of tasters...lovely. and people do get surprisingly inventive when using certain ingredients.
