And here we go!!! Excited or what?!*

re

Hey that sounds lovely!
i just made potatoe tortilla.....oh my goodness have you made it yet? it is amazing, needs a good bit of salt though which wasnt in the recipe book (sw) but is needed for taste...then oooooooooh so yummy!
went to see my grandsons today aged 3 and 1 and the three year old fed me 6 smarties lol, i kept saying no nanny cant have them but he insisted.....thats my excuse and sticking to it......hope that isnt gonna affect the loss lol, hope you have a brill day x

Ha ha love I wouldn't have thought 6 smarties would make much difference would it? I keep meaning to try the frittata/sw quiche but havn't got round to it yet. I even bought a bag of spinach for it which is now going off sigh. Might make it tonight for lunch tomorrow (doing that is my downfall as you know lol).

OOOOHHH meant to tell you, on our hex a list under cheese there is a new addition, Laughing Cow Deli Pots with Blue Cheese, buy one get one free at Tescos. I'm going to have burgers tonight with bacon and one of those melted on top!!! Can't wait!! xx

Gotta say the blue cheese laughing cow deli pots are lush, especially melted a bit on beefburgers! Quite a strong flavour.....

Dinner tonight was some gorgeous moist salmon fillet, sprinkled with lime juice, soy sauce and some fresh coriander. New potatoes sprinkled with a butterbud sachet and green beans. Very nice.

Weigh in again tomorrow, sigh. Hope I get a bigger loss than last week. PLEASE.

Good slimming day everyone??

WI tonight :-/

:D:D:D

4lbs this week hun yeyyyyyyyy! I did a little jig at the scales lol. How have you got on so far this week?

Dinner tonight was turkey meatballs (lean turkey mince, cumin, onions and coriander) with a homemade tomato sauce and spaghetti. Meatballs were a little dry but very tasty. Treated myself to a glass of rose wine, yummy. 1 more lb till I hit my February target, would love to do more! x

yeyyyyyyyyyyyy we are doing well! Can't believe I used to do Cambridge.......blinking starving myself and feeling miserable. The grub we can have now is fabby!!! Here's to the start of a nother good slimming week! xx

Hello there. Just been reading ur posts and you've both had brilliant losses. Well done!!!

I'm on week 5 and lost 10lbs so far which I'm really chuffed about, despite having a little blip last week and having a gain. Weigh in on sunday so fingers crossed for me girlies!!

Have a great slimming day tomorrow!
x

Hi Rach, thanks for your post! I was starting to wonder whether to keep on on with this diary as it only seemed to be myself and Lasttime chatting with ourselves, so glad you joined us! 10lbs wow, that's nearly a stone!! I love the fact we can eat so much and still lose weight, what plan are you following? Good luck tomorrow, we'll be watching with interest.

lasttime how are you doing hun?

Well last night I did something really daft. I bought a slow cooker yesterday from Tescos. So far so good. When I got home I chucked some browned off chunks of lean lamb, chick peas, butternut squash, lamb oxos, onions, cumin and mixed spice. That was at half 4. I'd forgotten to get tinned tomatoes so dropped daughter off at work, picked up other half from work, went to the supermarket and got home about half 6. Added the tomatoes and switched on. Then wondered why at 8 dinner wasn't ready. Er DERRRRRRRRRR. Decided I couldn't be arsed to wait till about 11pm for dinner so we had a kebab. A proper one, you know, grilled chicken and salad but no pitta with just a tablespoon of mint sauce. Note to self: SLOW cooker, clue is in the name lol!

So today I had a banana on the way to work, a jacket spud with beans and bacon at lunch with diet coke (oh and a nescafe skinny mocha packet thingy, 3 syns), gherkins and pastrami as a snack, then our morroccan lamb stew from last night with cous cous. I added a lamb stock cube, some cumin, fresh mint and coriander, and 2 x packs of butterbuds (0.5 syn per pack) to the cous cous. Was blinking yummy. And all free apart from the butterbuds :). Slimming World, I salute thee.

I saw on a previous thread that non-alcoholic beer, lager etc is very low in syns, some are actually free, so while I was in Tescos I picked a few different ones up. Unfortunately I can't find the particular ones I bought on the online syn thingy. Theres a few other ones ranging from 3 to 5 syns but I'm not sure so I havn't had one yet. So far I have been drinking diet ginger ale mixed with diet lemonade. Nice :)

Happy slimming!!!! xx

Morning!!!!

Am a Newbie to this posting lark too, and was a billy no mates for a while, us new starters have to stick together huh? That's wht I invaded your chat, hope u don't mind?

Been laughing at ur slow cooker incident!! I've got one too but never use it. Get up for work at 6am and can't be bothered to prep everything then lol.

Well weigh in yest and lost 2.5 pound which am really chuffed at, as went out for a curry on thurs(colleague leaving do) although may catch up with me this week!! So only 1.5 til my first stone!!! Going on hold in 7 weeks so want to be in the 14s by then!!! 9 lbs to go.

Following extra easy, so love eating as much as I want of healthy stuff, with choc as suns to help sweet tooth!!! Afraid I don't do low/non alc drinks. I save mine for wine on a sat night with OH!!!!

Anyway, have a great day and I look forward to hearing your progress. Keep in touch

Rach x

Hi Rach! Believe me I don't normally do low alcohol drinks either lol, just thought it would be nice to have a lager or cider and not have to syn it (or syn it much). 2.5lbs!! Whoop whoop!! I really hope I've done well again this week, my main problem in the past when I've done SW/WW etc is that I get impatient and want it to come off quicker, that's why I ende up doing Cambridge. Each week you could actually see yourself shrinking. But bloody hard work and very very lonely. I'm thoroughly enjoying SW so far. Lush grub and can still socialise.

I've got a 'treat tin' too, full of funsize bits and pieces to enjoy, but funnily enough I think I've only had 2 thngs out of it in 2 weeks. Strange when you think that if I didn't have it, I'd be going mental wanting sweet stuff!

This morning I had a real hankering for cheese on toast for breakfast/brunch. Had a really bad night last night so am ashamed to say I didn't get out of bed till midday. So 2 slices of brown toast (hexb), marmite and 42g Cathedral City low and mellow reduced fat cheddar (hexa) with 2 slices of well grilled lean bacon on the side. Really enjoyed that. Dinner is our usual roast, with chicken, potatoes roasted with frylight, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, stuffing (2 syns) yorkie (3 syns) and gravy (3.5 syns) I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!! Lol!

Very pleased to welcome you to our (very small) group. Will look forward to seeing your posts. Lasttime, where are you!? :) xx

:-(

Well have been saving my syns all week to be able to go out for a romantic dinner tonight. Wish I hadn't bothered. OH is a darling and booked a table at our local pub, local so I could have a glass of wine and walk. First time he's done this on Valentine's Day. Not that he's not a romantic, but I've always cooked a lovely 4 course dinner for him. Well I had a good think and had it planned that I would have steak, salad and a jacket. Nice and SW friendly. Got there, everything seemed lovely, candles and napkins folded into the shape of hearts (awwwwww). I started with fresh melon and asked them not to put the strawberry sauce on it (not fresh strawberries). Lovely. Then ordered a mixed grill cos I was particularly hungry. Even asked for a jacket spud, NO mushrooms cos they were fried and NO onion rings. And a side salad. Came out and looked lush. Sausage (I passed this over to OH) gammon, steak, lamb chop, kidney and a small piece of liver, and a pork chop. Started off by carefully cutting off all the fat from lamb, gammon and steak. (Bored yet? The best is yet to come!). Cut into the kidney, still had the core intact and was completely RAW!!!!! I asked the waitress (very nicely and calmly) to please get a plate and come and collect said kidney and ask the chef to cook it a bit more which she duly did. While I was waiting I ate my liver and gammon and lamb chop. Cut into the pork chop and.........was seared on the outside and TOTALLY RAW on the inside. I'm not just talking pink but absolutely just got off the supermarket shelf RAW! By this time I'm nearly in tears. Not only had it totally ruined our 'once in a blue moon' dinner out but it put me off enough to not eat any of the rest of it, and I was bloody hungry. I mean, come on, I'm a chef myself, what the hell? Then the waitress came out after I complained and said 'the landlord has said he'll knock off 20% off your total bill. Is that OK?' Um, no love. We ain't paying for that meal! I'll give him his dues, he didn't argue, even came out to see us and apologised, but that's not the point. Everyone knows how to cook a blinking pork chop, especially when it's for the public. So I'm now sat here at home, with a mugshot, feeling very disappointed. Ah well, as OH said whilst giving me a cuddle, at least I've eaten a lot less than I bargained on, even if it would've been syn free. Not the point tho eh?

Enjoyed the one glass of rose wine. Pooooooooooooo.

Hope everyone else has had a fab Valentine's Day, next year I'll go back to the tradition of cooking at home :) xx

Oh no, that is terrible! Not surprised it put you off.

I just wanted to say that your meals sound absolutely fantastic. I'm not a very good cook, I have a nasty habit of overcooking everything:rolleyes:
But reading your diary I have decided I am going to make more of an effort in the kitchen.
Also welldone you on weightloss so far and especially having moved over from the Cambridge diet:eek:

Hi Sunshine and thankyou. I'd better get a blinking good weightloss this week lol! I must admit I do enjoy the cooking, I'm getting so used to SW now I look through my hoards of Cookbooks on my shelf and adapt recipes (and yes I have most of the SW books too lol, altho I needn't have bothered because there's some FANTASTIC threads on here with meal ideas, have a look out for britmum's threads). Now I know that you are enjoying my posts I will make sure I post more of our meals. What sort of thing do you enjoy eating the most? I try to make my meals as interesting and varied as possible as I would get so bored having the same sort of things all the time. I do struggle with packed lunches at the moment. Today I had smoked salmon with laughing cow triangles (hexa) and ryvitas (hexb) with a drizzle of lemon juice and cherry tomatoes. Tomorrow I think I'll be having salad with Tesco Chicken Tikka fillets and some natural fat free yogurt with fresh chopped mint drizzled over. Wanted to make a fritatta type thing but after tonight I really can't be arsed lol x

lasttime my friend, are you ok? Havn't seen you for a while.........x

Took a sneaky peek at the scales this morning......apparently I've put on 3 and a half lbs!!!! I reallllllly don't think so........!

Don't take any notice of them Hun!!! ESP if u usually weight at a club. I can gain and lose up to 4 lbs in a day or overnight. Sure you'll be fine. You've been good!!

Sorry to hear about your meal disaster, so disappointing isn't it.

I'm not hopeful this week. Whatever happens going to do a 100% next week to ensure a good loss. Also we have new mountain bikes, OHs idea. So exercise may feature at the weekend. Gah!!!!
xx

Hi Rach! New mountain bikes eh? Lucky you! I actually giggled when I read that cos I am so not a biker (motor or otherwise!). In fact the last time I went on a cycle I came to a junction and promptly fell off! Not very ladylike I can tell you lolol! No sense of balance, thats my problem. Oh and the 'jelly leg' syndrome after excercising. I have bought the 'Biggest Loser Challenge' for the Wii, just waiting for it to come through. That will be interesting I think.

My lunch was as planned (see my previous post) and was very nice. Although I have been having shooting stomach pains all day and er delhi belly (delicately put methinks). Whether it was anything to do with last night's fiasco I'm not sure but I havn't wanted to eat anything else as yet. Dinner will be chicken breast wrapped in bacon with homemade syn free barbecue sauce (recipe on request). New potatoes and salad.

Must make something for lunch tomorrow before I forget, can't really face salad or crispbreads again this week.

Hope everyone else is having a fab Slimming Tuesday (and no, I'm taking no notice of today's scales!!) xx

Evening!!! Hmmmnnn, let me tell u that I can't remember the last time I was on a bike either, was his idea and he paid, so am indulging him. Trouble is that he is fit. He does gym 3-4 times a week!!! Ha. Why is he with me lol, the biggest couch potato!!! So I have been told to go out and ride around the village to aclimatise myself to the seat. Been told in no uncertain terms that I will be sore!!!! In not nice places. Joy. That's something to look forward to!!!!!

Oh and he has two motorbikes also. And no, haven't been on those either. Helmet hair? No thanks!!!

Sorry to hear you've been a bit delicate today!!! Not good, thought u put it very nicely tho lol.

Your tea sounds yummy. Would love the recipe if you don't mind? Love cooking but working long hours kinda stops me from experimenting in the week and so stick to the old faves!!! Just watching Gok, to see how to dress myself. Roll on the size 12-14. Lol
xx
